"that’s enough" snarled Gemma "we have enough troubles without you two fighting amongst yourselves". Sasha felt the fight drain from her paws and went limp in Gemma’s claws. Gemma released her and stoped in front of her, blocking her view of Finlay and Dexter "what’s wrong with you" she snarled " we should be saving our energy not fighting with each other"

The blood pounded in Sasha’s ears as she raced away from the den site. She could hear Buffy Still following them. Charlie ran with her Shaking in fear. Dexter raced beside her also, "what do we do Dexter?" asked Sasha "she wont stop chasing us".

Dexter didn’t answer for several seconds looking worried "I…I don’t know" he growled. Then he seemed to change his mind "I shall go and help Chocolate fight Buffy off" he stopped and tuned to Sasha who stopped too.

"No Dexter" she cried "you can’t you could be killed"

Dexter stepped forward and pressed his muzzle to hers "Chocolate is in danger too, I must save him for all our sakes"

Sasha trembled "but Dexter"

Dexter looked at her "I will not dessert him" He growled. The rest of the pack raced past them. Dexter stepped forward and nosed Sasha I will be back soon" he promised. Without another word he spun around and raced back toward the den site.

Sash stood watching where he had disappeared unable to move. Charlie ran up to her "Sasha come on we must keep moving"

Sasha hardly heard her and was unable to move

"Dexter and Chocolate will be fine trust me" she growled "now come on" she yowled urgently, pulling on Sasha’s shoulder fur.

Sasha shook her head and turned around pelting after Charlie.

Sasha and Charlie caught up with the others, who had stopped to wait for them. Without a word the pair raced past the group and pelted onwards.

"What do you suppose happened to Dexter and Chocolate" asked Finlay "you don’t suppose….." she broke off looking at Sasha with worry.

Sasha shook her head "we must believe that they are alive without that belief we have nothing to keep us going"

Charlie didn’t answer but kept running. Finlay came over to Sasha "we have to... find. . .a... hiding place, we can’t… run like .. this … forever" she puffed.

Sasha nodded in agreement and sniffed the air, suddenly she smelled a Scent that made her heart leap with relief Badger! "This way" she yowled leaping in the direction of the scent. The rest of the pack followed instantly. After a few heartbeats they came to an old badger set "Quickly" she cried "in…." she was interrupted by a yowl behind her.

With the whole pack Sasha skidded to a halt and spun around, a few yards in front of her Chocolate and Dexter were racing towards them with Buffy hot on their heels "run" yowled Chocolate as he came closer.

Sasha didn’t wait to be told again, with a terrified yowl she and the pack turned back around and pelted through the forest once more. Suddenly when Sasha thought her chest was going to burst open she saw a cliff in front of her "finally" she gasped breathlessly. With a tremendous leap Sasha leapt on top of the cliff and turned to the rest of the pack "hurry" she cried to the others. The rest of the pack heard her and began to run even faster; Charlie was the first to reach her scrambling up the cliff and falling into an exhausted heap in the leaves. Finlay leapt up next, with Demon so close behind her that he almost crashed into her and fell back down. Sasha nodded to them and turned her attention back to the remainder of the pack, Gemma, Dexter and Chocolate were still racing for the cliff, Gemma was the first to climb the cliff, Chocolate stopped at the bottom of the cliff and waited for Dexter "what are you doing Chocolate" snarled Sasha in fear "get to safety, Hurry".

Chocolate looked up at her "I will, only when the rest of you are safe’ he turned his attention back to Dexter who sailed past him and up the cliff " we’re all safe" cried Dexter standing next to Sasha "Come on". Instantly Chocolate began to scramble up the cliff.

But just as he was about to reach Sasha Buffy took a tremendous leap and pulled chocolate to the ground "NO" Sasha yowled. But before any dog could do anything Buffy sunk her teeth into Chocolates neck and ripped out his throat "that rotten bitch" snarled Sasha "Ill rip open her throat" she braced her self to leap down to attack Buffy "No" cried Dexter grabbing her shoulder fur and yanking her back "it’s to late, we must find a safe place, we must survive Chocolate would have wanted that"

Sasha ignored Dexter and glared at Buffy who was beginning to eat Chocolate’s body, before tearing away from Dexter’s grip and stalking away.

A lake

Sasha and the others stopped at the edge of the lake "we have to cross it" gasped Finlay looking out to the other side of the lake It’s our only chance of escape".

Sasha turned to her fear making her irritable "and how do you suppose we do that" she snarled "fly over it, we’re to exhausted to cross it"

Finlay flinched as if Sasha had bitten her "we can still try" she stammered

Sasha snorted and rolled her eyes "okay lets go then" she began to wade into the lake "I’m not afraid of water unlike some cowards" she sneered over her shoulder at Finlay.

Anger flashed in Finlay’s eyes and she stalked into the lake. Dexter caught up with Sasha matching her pace. That was harsh" he accused "Finlay is just scared"

Sasha snorted "so" she snarled "she should be more resourceful instead of whimpering like a pup all the time" she glanced backwards and saw Finlay give her a furious look "if Buffy was attacking us, she’d probably run away like a coward and leave us to fend for ourselves". Sasha climbed onto the bank dripping and exhausted.

Dexter followed her, his pelt brisling with fury "you think she’d do that" he snarled stepping toward her "you think she would just abandon her pack in a time of need" his pelt was brisling and he leant in even closer to Sasha.

"Why are you defending her so much" snarled Sasha "do you like her, do you want her as a mate"

Dexter opened his mouth for a stinging reply when Finlay pushed in between them angrily "this is no time for fighting" she snarled with uncharacteristic fury. She glared at Sasha clearly still furious at her comments "or do you want to get torn apart" she snarled. She looked at Sasha as if that was what she wanted most. Sasha took a step back, stunned, but Finlay ignored her and pelted away.

"What’s up her tail" snarled Sasha angrily.

"YOU" a voice yelled behind her. Sasha turned to see Demon climbing onto the bank "you can’t even keep your cruel mouth shut" he snarled at her "It’s a wonder she didn’t tear you apart" he glared at her and pushed roughly past her, following his mate into the distance. The rest of the pack ignored Sasha as well.

Sasha watched them go stunned and angry that everyone was ignoring her. Dexter snorted and left her alone, following the pack. Sasha took one more look across the lake and followed.
