Pounding through the snow, Steele raced against the clock and the rival team. His master was so obsessed over beating them. They were racing to see who the better sled dog team was and not only his master but Steele's Sled team wanted to win as well.

It wasn't really his team, he was just strong and fast in his master's eyes so he become lead dog,  but he didn't think he had it in him. Even his team mates didn't have faith in him and when Steele went to slow the would bite at his paws pushing him onward. The only reason he was so strong was for the constant runs without a break.

So the race was on and the biting came again. As they reached the last stretch of race, they past the rival team and stampeded into the town, the crossing line just barely out of reach.

They crossed over and won. He was hoping Jenna had seen his victory. She was the most popular husky and she was snobby to most dogs but Steele still had a heart for her.

He looked and saw her smiling he wagged his tail and she rolled her eyes and looked away. She was against liking him and he knew it but he couldn't give up. She was the one love of his life!

He notist Balto, a very mean halfbred who always caught Jenna's eye, nearby talking to Jenna. Balto always bullied Steele around and seeing him with Jenna made his fur grow hot.

What could she possibly see in him? Steele was a very soft hearted dog, had a pedigree, and was very kind. Balto was a fox hearted old fool who bullied everyone around and kept an annoying bird with him who did Balto's work.

Annoyance filled him and his blood ran cold. He had to talk to her before Balto made a move. He trotted up and before he could say anything, one of the rich high breeds stopped before him and expressed her feelings to him. He knew it was a fake and he almost turned away but Balto was leaving and this was his chance.

He pushed the lap dog a side and walked up to Jenna. He asked her about his victory and what she thought but she didn't seem to care and kept trying to get rid of him. This wasn't fair!

A couple days later he walked to the boiler room to heat off his worries and sadness when he caught Balto and Jenna in there together. I have to get revenge on Balto! He could not let this nasty halfbreed hurt his little Jenna! Steele had had enough with the constant bulling and knew what Balto wanted from Jenna and it he had to be stopped.

He sounded and alarm and got Balto thrown out of town, never to be trusted again. Jenna was furious with him. How could she? Broken Hearted he was blinded with hatred toward Balto and knew that he need to seek new revenge on Balto.

But a new emotion flooded through him. Sadnees filled his very heart and he knew that he may have no chance with Jenna. She was to big of a classy dog with better things to do in life. But the one puzzle peice didn't fit in: Balto....

Nights were cold and lonly. His sled team snuggled together by the fire and Steele was pushed away. He would see dogs meeting up with crushes and mates and his sadness burned inside him. He had to get Jenna to like him.

He would bring flowers, bones, treats, and more to her house but the were always returned. She was always with Balto and he envied that dog very much.

He had many bad times with balto and Jenna would forever hate Steele. Steele slowly grew old and couldn't be part of the team any more. His sadness seem to never end causing him to weaken.

No one could see the goodness in him no matter how hard he tried. He would sit by the boiler room and look at all the people , dogs, and other animals pass by. He would see Balto's kids grow up and become fine racers or house hold pets. Nothing could stop them.

After Balto became famous Steele was nothing but a shadow. Balto's puppies were shipped to far away places and the show world was born. People from all around the world would come and bid at puppy auctions for the one and only puppies by Balto. What a lucky dog...

Soemtimes Steele thought he was lucky. Jenna was a brat. Everyone was to good for her, except Balto. She ignored averyone and if they bugged her she would snap at them. She demanded to have more and more puppies and Balto couldn't say no. But Steele was unlucky, he was so busy drooling over Jenna he never got a happy life. No best friend to live with for the rest of his life...no puppies to raise and call his own..

Steele was nothing... and that is all he would ever be, because no one had the heart to listen to him and hear what he had to say... and see the good side of him...

After reading this I always had a feeling Steele wasn't all that bad and cold hearted as portrayed in the movie. I knew he had a soft spot in him it just took a while for some one to realize it.
