I don't own any Balto characters!!!

Jenna. Boris. Muk. Luk. Everybody. A full year has passed since Balto has seen any of them.

Despite his effort to be accepted by saving the town he is still shunned because of something not even in his fault.

Balto stood a few miles out by Nome atfer a year. "Why?! No matter what I do nothing comes out right!" Balto shouted.

"Balto!! What are doing?! get back over here to the pack!" said Wildfire.

Balto slowly turned to him.

"You know you should be grateful. Your loved ones are still alive and so are you." he said to Balto.

He really wanted to choke him on the spot but he couldn't. If he did the deal was off. He was basically a slave to them.

"Yes Wildfire. I'll go." he said.

"You know that ex-mate was kind of appealing for a dog. Mabey I should consider giving her the privilige of my visit." He said with evil smile.

Balto gave him a cold stare. "If he even comes within 50 yards of Jenna I'll..." he thought about to growl.

"Temper, Temper!" said Wildfire.

Balto went back still growling.

Balto was sleeping afew feet away from the pack as usual.

The pack teased him like the town before. This place was nightmare to Balto. Now he has no one to turned to for a kind word.

"Balto..." a voice called.

Balto woke up.

"Just the wind." he said going back to sleep.

"Balto...!" the voice called louder.

"Look! If want to make fun of me now in this time of night you-" he stopped as he saw a white wolf standing infront of him.

"Who-Who are you?" he asked.

The wolf eyed Balto before speaking.

"My dear Balto. I'm so sorry the pain that I have caused you my son." a gentle voice called.

"You! You're Aniu!" he said.

She nodded.

"What happened why did you leave me? Why did you-"

"Balto I can't stay long so I must be brief. You need to go back to Nome." she said.

"If I do they'll all be in trouble!" said Balto.

"I can't tell you why but trust me. Go to your family. Before its too late." She faded in the moonlight.

"Mother!" he shouted.

The night was silent again.

"What should I do? Even if I do want to go they would follow me to the person I'm going to. How?" Balto said to himself.

"Balto..." said Jenna sitting in her bed next to Rosey.

Rosey was sad that Balto wasn't visiting often as he use to.

"Gee Jenna. I wonder where Balto has gone to? I hope he didn't run away. I hope he comes before we move." she said petting Jenna.

Jenna licked her hand.

"I don't. I don't care if I don't see him ever again!" she thought.

Boris has be coming by to say that he still loves her but she was too hurt to listin to him.

"You don't mean That! you love that wolfdog more than anything. Rosey knows that too. the other side of her popped out.

"But he told me he doesn't want to be with him any more. That someone eles will take my place." she thought.

"Remmembered the way he would stare at you? Or the way he comments on you on everything. Sure he's not a full dog but he can't replace you like you can't replace him."

She shook her head. "If he can I can too. Goodbye Balto forever...." she said closing her eyes.

The next day Jenna saw Max.

Max has been hanging around her alot since Balto left. He was always kind to her.

"Are you okay Jenna?" he asked her. He broke her train of thought. "Huh? Yea! I'm fine Max." she said.

She would walk with him. She would enjoy the talks too.

"Hey Jenna!" Dixie said by the mail room with Sylvie.

"Hello you two! still have the latest news in Nome?" asked Jenna.

The two came to max and Jenna.  Max bowed to them. "Hello ladies! Beutiful day with beutiful dogs." he said to them.

"Charmer." said Dixie batting her eyes. "Flattery will get you- ah who am I kidding? I love it." said Sylvie smiling.

"I'll be right back Jenna. Don't go away." he said runing the other way to the meatshop.

"I like him alot. He's alot better looking than Balto." said Dixie.

Jenna slightly flinched at the mention of Balto.

"Speaking of which have you seen him around Jenna?" asked Sylvie.

"No I haven't." Jenna said.

"Is Max your new....you know?" Dixie asked winking at her.

"No! He's just a friend." Jenna said.

"I don't think he sees you as just a friend." said Sylvie.

"Yea! The way he looks at you says it all!" said Dixie.

Jenna thought for a moment and figured they were right.

His smile and the way he talks to her is different than the first day she met him. And the way he looks at her.......

"Jenna you hungry?! I got some food we could eat." Max mumbled to her with a piece of meat in his mouth.

"Uh...no thanks Max. Mabey later. I think I'll go home for a nap." said Jenna walking away.

Max stared at Jenna as she ran away.

"She's so beutiful." he thought out loud.

"Really?!" said the two.

"Oh! Sorry I didn't mean to-" Max felt embarassed about getting caught staring at Jenna.

"Hey! Don't sweat it. We think you might have a good chance with Jenna since Balto isn't around." said Dixie.

"But she's Balto's mate. I couldn't." said Max looking down.

The two walked close to him.

"She's all alone all this year!" said Dixie.

"Yeah. If he cared he would've been by her side everyday." said Sylvie.

Max looked at them.

"Mabey..." He said.

"Look! We know what she likes. We can give you some tips to win Jenna." said Dixie.

"You would do that for me?" he said.

They both nodded.

Then they both whispered into Max's ear.

It was late at night. Jenna was in her bed.

Even though its a year she still thought about Balto.

"Why? why would say that to me? It still doesn't make sense. Mabey I should go with Max." she thought. She shook her head.

She hated the words he said to her but she still deeply loved Balto. Mabey that's why it hurt her so much.....

"Hey Girl!" said Rosey petting the sad Jenna. She licked her hand.

"I wonder where Balto is?" Jenna flinched." I miss him coming over. I hope he's ok." she said Jumping in her bed about to go to sleep.

Jenna scoffed but deep down she wanted to see him too.

But Rosey's parents are thinking about moving to her grandparents south from Nome.

Max was walking in the middle of the night to the forest. Fog surrounded him but he stood his ground.

"Is the job done yet?" a voice called.

"Almost. Her feelings for the halfbreed are inside her still. He's already suffered banishment from his home. Hasn't he had enough pain?" said Max.

"Grrr. I Want him forgoten. He must suffered what I had suffered. I don't care what it takes!" the voice said.

Max sighed.

"Very well. I'll do as ordered." said Max runing back to the town.

Wildfire came out of mist Staring at the town. "Aniu. Why? Why did you leave me for him......?" He shouted.

The morning was here. Balto did his daily work for the pack and more.

He would always think of those he left behind. Mainly Jenna. The words he said to her hauted him.

"Jenna if only you knew why...." he thought.

"Halfbreed! Quit slacking!! I'm hungry!!" one wolf said.

"And bring some for us too!" another said.

Balto growled but did as he was told.

"Loser!"

"Weakling!"

"Halfbreed!"

"Even his own mate doesn't want him!"

Then something snapped! Balto charged at the wolves fighting all of them at the same time!

"Enough! I'll deal with the rest of you later." said a voice. "Balto! You're with me." It was Snowstorm.

The wolves snickered as he left.

"I'm sorry for the pack insults. We can't have these fights anymore. If wildfire saw you he would have-"

"I know." said Balto.

"Hang in there." he said walking away.

"Mabey I should listin to my mother." he thought about going home as he walked away.

He could go at night and come back like he's doing his chores as a excuse.

"I'm coming! Everybody just wait." he thought runing back.

Smiling.

It was sunset. Jenna and Max were walking together.

She was surprised how they were so much alike. It was mostly the advice from Dixie and Sylvie.

"I had a great time with you Jenna. I hope we can do it again."

"Me too." said Jenna. They got to her house.

"Uh...Jenna?" he said.

"Hmm?" she turned to him.

"I know it must be painful after Balto left you. But I want to help heal your pain. I love you Jenna. I promise I'll never abandon you. " Max said looking to her eyes.

"Max..." she said.

"I don't-"

"Please Jenna! Give me a chance. " he asked her.

"Alright I'll think about it." she said giving him alittle kiss on his cheek.

Max felt slightly guilty for tricking her. "No! he deserve this!" he thought leaving.

"Now!" Balto's eyes shot opened at two in the morning.

He snuck away from the pack to the town.

He made sure that he wasn't seen or follwed.

 He went to Boris's home.

He peeked in to see two depressed polar bears and a snow goose.

"Jee! I thought you'd be happy that I left the nest Boris." he said.

The polar bears just stared at the wolfdog in disbelief.

"No. Balto isn't here its just you minds playing with you." said Boris.

Then bam!

Boris was on the ground with Balto licking his face.

"That truly you Boychick?" Boris still in shock.

"Is there another Balto?" he said Laughing.

Muk and Luk grabbed him and hugged him with all their might.

"Mmmm!!! Hmmm. HHHmmm!! Mhmhm!" said Luk.

 "I'll say!" Luk said Muk.

"I'm....Guessing.....he...missed...me.....!" he said as the air in his lungs slowly got crushed.

"Let him go you annoying fur balls!" said Boris.

They let him go.

"I knew you come back to us!" said Muk.

"But how? I thought the wolves said-"

"Yeah! I'm still with the wolves!
