they all left but Shadow

and Crystal. Shadow said "Dad..will you be-." "I'll be fine just watch each others' back they'll use

any method to get to kill me." The two nodded then went with the pack.

The sun went down so Emerald and Tyler went back home to see the rest of the children. The two

went through the forest then ran into town. When the two was near the house a whole crowd of

people was around. Rex ,with a few other dogs, was there too.

Rex eyes widen as he saw them. "Hey Rex! what happened here?" Rex paused before he spoke.

"I'm sorry but Maxwell was-" before he even finished Emerald dashed infront of everyone. "Emerald

wait! Don't!!"shouted Rex but it was too late. She saw her old freind since she was a pup. Dead!

"No."said emerald with tears in her eyes. She walked towards him and saw claws and teeth marks

on his neck. "NNNOOO!!!" she howled. Tyler ran by her side to comfornt her as much as he could.

Tyler turned around to Rex and asked. "How long has he been?" " Two hours after sunset." Rex

responded.

"If only I had stayed to protect him." Emerald sobbed. Tyler said "Don't blame yourself! you've

couldn't have known they would go that low."

"MOM! DAD!" All five of the pups surrounded their parents."We all heard what happened" said

Mason. "How's Mom?" asked Kimi. Tyler looked at Emerald who walked back to Maxwell then shook

his head."Not very well I'm afraid." he said. "What kind of question is that Kimi? He practicly raised

mom."said Rapheal.

"Yeaah Kimi!! Use that head for once" said Sapphire. Kimi started to gowl. "ENOUGH ALL OF

YOU!! YOU CAN"T SEE YOU MOTHER IS IN PAIN?!" He shouted at all of them. All of their ears

went down and they all said "Sorry Dad!" "Don't say that to me say that to your mothe-". Emerald

was gone when they turned around!

"Where did she go?" asked Naomi. "You wouldn't think she-" "Emerald No!!"Tyler shouted as he

ran with his children out of the town.

She ran to the Ice death ground where no animals can live and were Jack and Ruby was banished

to."RUBY!!JACK!!! GET OUT HERE NOW!!" Emerald shouted. "You WOULD GO THAT LOW!!"

Ruby came from the shadows. " This is the truth. I didn't mean for Maxwell to die. That was Jack's

idea!" said Ruby

"Why should I beleave you? You almost killed Tyler!!"Emerald shouted at her. "Em This is your last

warning leave Tyler and his offspring now!!" "NEVER!!!" Ruby frowned and said "Fine I'll have no

control to what Jack intends to do." she ran back to the woods.

"Emerald!!" she heard someone shout behind. "Tyler.." she said sadly but she was shocked to see

her children with him.

"We were all worried about you mom." said Naomi. All the kids nodded. Then Tyler said " What

were you doing out here alone? They could of-" Emerald cut him off. "Tyler its not me you should

worry about. Besides I can defend myself."

Tyler looked at her funny and said "What do you mean?" Emerald sighed and said "I want all of

you to watch your backs and protect each other untill this is over."

"Whoa ,man this is serious!"said Rapheal. "Let them come I'll rip them to shreds if they hurt

anybody." said Mason. "I want some action too." said Kimi.

"THIS IS NOT A GAME!" shouted Tyler."Its like your mother said keep your eyes opened". All of

them nodded and went back home.

Tyler and Emerald walked last. Emerald said "Tyler if they even think about touching our children-"

" Don't worry about it. Their tough kids and besides I won't let them." said Tyler.

She smiled at him but deep down she knew something was about to go wrong.

 

Chapter 6

 

Emerald was paranoid all week long. Tyler was getting woried. The children all said that they

haven't seen anything but Emerald did not let her guard down no matter what.

Emerald and Tyler lived with the pack for protection. As soon as she saw that nothing happen in a

while she started to calm down.

"Hey Mom! You feeling better?" asked Shadow. "A little sweetheart." She lied. "Hey why don't you

visit Naomi she's been wanting to see you but she's been busy with the girls." Crystal suggested.

"That's a good idea Crystal let's go Em! Bye!" said Tyler as he wrapped his tail on Emerald's

bandanda and pulled her along. "Wait! Tyler, what about Jack? He might hurt the girls!" Emerald

shouted. Tyler only smiled,

"That's why we're going there. He knows that the girls are helpless if they're without Naomi to

protect them. So...?" he asked. "So we're going there to protect them and to end this. Right?" she

asked. He nodded

"Bingo!" he said. They walked across Nome to a little house on a hill. Three girls were playing in the

snow. Naomi was watching from the porch. She looked at the two then smiled.

"Mom! Dad! I meant to come but these three kept me in." she said as she nuzzled her parents.

"Has anything happened to them!" Emerald. "You mean if Jack were here? He won't lay a paw on

them while I'm here!"she shouted.

Tyler smiled at his daughter. Emerald sighed in relief that Jack didn't come. Well....yet.

After a half a hour of playing with the girls they desided to check the other children. Then one of

the girls screamed. "I knew it was too good to be true!!" said Emerald as they ran back to the house.

Then they heard a yelp. They reached the backyard and found Naomi on the ground wounded.

"Looks like your kids are just as weak as you mutt!"said Jack. His voiced chilled Emerald. She check

the girl who was bitten by Jack in the arm.

"Emerald! I'll deal with you shortly after I destroy this beast!" he said as he charged Tyler. Tyler

knew he couldn't fight in front of the girls so he tried to lure him away. He ran to the forest as Jack

was head on his heels.

He stopped at a cliff with rocks on the botton. "Now let's finish this Jack!" Tyler shouted. "With

pleasure!" he said as he pushed Tyler into a tree. He bared his teeth to his neck but Tyler kicked

him in the gut an pinned him down to the gound. Jack sank his teeth in his thigh.

"Gahhhh!!!" Tyler screamed as Jack pushed him off. Tyler quickly got up and clawed Jack on the

back. He tore off some of his fur with his claws then crushed his teeth near his spine.

"AHHHHH!!!GET OFF OF ME!!!" Jack said as he pushed Tyler in a boulder to get him off.

The sharp edges cut hard into Tyler but he sank his hard into Jack.Then Jack slammed ito the rock.

The rock hit Tyler's head so he let go of him and fell to the ground. "This is it Goobye mutt!!

Emerald's MINE NOW!!!" Jack said as he raised his paw.

"Hang on dad!! said Shadow and three other wolves ganged up on him. Despite the pack's effort

Jack flipped all of them off of him and back to Tyler. Tyler got up slowly. "Goodbye!"

"Stop! Alright Jack you win! I'm yours! Just leave Tyler and my children alone!" said Emerald.

"What?!" said Shadow. "Mom what are you doing?" asked Crystal.

Tyer was speechless. Jack smiled."Now you've come to your senses! Now was that so hard

darling?" Jack said as Emerald came and nuzzled him. Tyler looked in despare. His heart was

breaking in half.

"I need to tell you something Jackie." Emerald said as she batted her eyes. "Yes?" he askednot

realizing he was walking backwards. "You need to watch your step!" she said as she pushed him to

the edge of the cliff.

"You tricked me!!" he shouted to her. "Do you really think I would betray Tyler for YOU! Get real!!"

she said as she stomped on the edge on the ice making a crack."EMERALD!!!" He screamed untill

everyone heard a thud.

She ran to Tyler. "Are you alright?"He was brused pretty bad and he was losing alot of blood! "A

major headach, I can't feel my front paws, and the rest of my body is killing me but other than that

I'm fine!" He joked. She laughed and started licking his wounds.

"I thought you were serious back there!" he said. Emerald looked at him and said " I told you I love

you! Do you really think he would've left anyone alone? Why would I go to a mate would kill the

people I love?"she asked as she kissed him.

"Need help dad?" asked Shadow. "Yeah the pack can help!"said Crystal. Tyler looked at Emerlad

and said "Nah! She's the only one I need."she smiled at him "Well I'm not gonna carry you back!

She said as everyone laughed.

The passed three weeks Emerald and Tyler lived with Maxwell's sister who was very kind to them.

Emerald was in bed with her mate. "Its over Tyler! Its finally over!!" She lean on to him. He kissed

her cheek.

"Now! We can finally can rest in peace." he laid his head over Emerald's."Mmm..Finally alone in

peace" they watched the sun rise fom the window.

But little did they know their was one more thing they happ to settle with. Or two!!

 

Final Chapter

 

The day grew shorter! The winds grew stronger. Despite the fact that Jack was gone the feeling of

danger was till in the air. Winter was coming! Emerald felt tense as she was waking home with tyler.

"Em? what's wrong you seemed disracted alot lately." said a concered Tyler. "Hmm? oh it's

nothing." she said to him. He glared at her. "Doesn't sound like nothing!" he said.

"WELL IT IS NOTHING SO LEAVE IT ALONE!!! she shouted at him. He was stunned! He watch as

she stormed off home!

He sighed "What can I do? She's like this ever since Jack's death." he said to himself as he slowly

walked home.

He bumped into his son Mason. "Hey Dad! You don't look
