Forever and Ever Hun 2

      The man still carried her through the forest.She whined again.The man looked down at her.

"You want a name don't you?First I'll tell you mine,Dimitri,"He said.

I gasped,That's what my dream meant!That's probably what my father was going to tell me!,I thought.Then started crying.The man looked at me deciding.

"I know.Annabell!"He said.I looked at him confused.I knew the name fit me in all but really?

     He ruffled my fur as we came out of the forest.I licked his hand.He seemed nice and a lot like my dad,strange enough.He set me on the ground to see if I would follow.I did as I trotted next to him.I almost felt like I was with my father.

     Ahead I saw a town.I trotted along next to him as we entered the town.People stared at me as I walked by.My owner ignored them but I wondered what was going on.

     Dimitri led me to a small house right in the middle of the town.

"Welcome to your new home Annabell!"Dimitri said as he opened the door.The place smelled like other dogs.I looked around to see about seven dogs in the house.

      Dimitri walked around the house with me by his side,scratching each dog's ear and saying their names and then introducing me.The first one we passed was a female named Keri.She smiled at me and stood up to follow us.

     I said each name aloud,with the help of Keri,to make sure I remembered every one of them."Keri,Gavin,Cale,Kevin,Snow,Wildfire,Altair,"I said and grinned.

"Now Annabell,this is my sled team.You are one day going to be part of them."Dimitri said smiling.I looked up at him.A sled dog?What's that?I thought.I ignored it and walked around.I felt I was being watched.I turned around to see Altair staring at me in disbelief.

"What?"I ask,

"Nothing."He said and looked away.I shrugged and walked over to Keri.

"Why was he staring at me?"I asked.

"It's just your different.Look at all of us then look at yourself,"She answered.

I looked around the room.Every one of them had a slightly curled tail,they were all slightly bigger,they just had different features than me.I looked at miself.My tail was down,My I was thin,looked like a wolf-dog.They were all dogs.

"You mean he doesn't like me for what I am?"I asked.

"I don't know.He's only known you for a few minutes.He could just be shocked that Dimitri picked you to be part of our team."She answered.

I winced slightly at my father's name.Keri looked at me confused as I winced.

"Is there something wrong hun?"she asked.

"Uh.Kind of.I'll just go to sleep,I'm tired."I said trying to change the subject the walked to a corner where none of them were and curled up in a ball and went to sleep.

     I was in the same spot where I was when my new owner had picked me up.I watched as a light came again and my father came out.I walked over to him.

"Daddy,what's going on?"I asked.

He looked at me troubled,"That's what I was going to tell you.That you were going to look for me but the person who found you had the same name as me and is a lot like me,not me though."He answered.

"Okay...What is a sled dog?"I asked.

"It's a dog,or wolf-dog in your case,that pulls a sled for recreation or delivery."he answered.

"So a sled team would be a group of them."I say.

He nodded.

"I'm going to be a sled dog!"I say jumping up and down.I don't know why I was excited though.

The dream ended and I woke up trembling with all the dogs around me in a half circle except for Altair.I looked up.

"What's wrong dear?"Keri asked.

I sighed and looked at all the other dogs,not wanting to answer but did any way,"Keri can I talk to you alone please?"I already felt close to her and want to tell her everything.

She nodded and sent the others away but the still kept glncing at us and some were trying to eavsedrop.I ignored them and started my story.She gasped a lot when it came to the end when my father died and Dimitri having the same name as my father.Then I finnished with tears in my eyes.

"Oh hunny!"She gasped an hugged me.I cried into her thick chestnut fur.I looked behind us to see the eavsedroppers with tears in their eyes.

"It's okay,shhh"Keri said comforting me.I stopped crying and pulled out of the hug.

"I'm fine Keri."I say and get up.I walk around and get a drink out of a bowl full of water I immeidiately spit it back out.It tastes weird.I'm used to water from the creek.I don't have any idea what kind of water this is.I start to cry again,wanting to be home.

Keri walked over to me,"It's ok hun,you'll get used to it.Everything will be better."She says trying to comfort me.

"No it won't!How is a pup supposed to live without her father?Especialy me!My grandfather killed my father!How am I supposed to live with also that I killed my grandfather,that I'm away from home,away from my family?"I ask getting very frustrated with myself.

Just then Dimitri walks in with another pup my age.Light tan almost blond fur and beautiful eyes.........
