Jenna padded silently along the streets of Nome. She had had an argument with Balto and she had thought it best to escape. As Jenna walked a dark figure followed her, his blue eyes glinting mischeiviously. Slowly he padded to Jenna his sleek black and white fur was bright compared to the slenderness of Jenna's russet and white fur. "Hello Jenna." The figure said. "Good day Steele." Jenna replied coolly, she then froze. Closing her eyes she wished it was a figment of her imagination and that he didn't love her anymore, she loved Balto and nothing could change that not ever. Steele brushed his side against Jenna. Turning Jenna wrinkled her nose in disgust. "What do you want Steele?" She snapped, a rather feeble growl building up in her throat. "Now, now Jenna lets not fight." Steele said softly. Jenna calmed slightly. "Shall we go to the boiler room?" He asked in a flirty way. Jenna nodded but would not accept getting seduced into doing ANYTHING other than talking with him.
When they both got to the boiler room it had begun to snow ferociously. Jenna sighed then lay by the fire, shivering. "Come now are you cold Jenna?" Steele asked. Jenna shook her head vigrously. Steele shrugged then sat down watching the relaxed figure of Jenna. "Why have you come back?" Jenna snapped suddenly. Steele focused on her. "I wanted to apologise for the trouble I gave you." He said. Jenna frowned sensing something wrong. "Alright...I accept." She said quietly. Steele grinned. Jenna turned away from Steele and watched the dying flames flicker. Jenna shivered some more. Swiftly Steele came and lay beside her. Jenna jumped slightly at the softness of Steele's fur. She was used to the wild fur of Balto. Steele rested his head on his paws and slowly fell asleep.
When Jenna was certain he was deep asleep she silently padded to the area that Balto had shown her the nothern lights. Silently she crawled in. Her breathing was heavy as she crawled to the gap where the light shone down. A few weeks back she had found a way to push the grate away and clamber through. Wriggling slightly she managed to get into the doctors office. Slowly she managed to get to the door. She heard hasty footsteps approach. Gasping Jenna managed to conceal herself in the shadows. The door slammed open and 3 men walked in 2 carrying a little girl. Jenna caught a glimpse of the girl and gasped again. Rosy. Jenna hesitated to go and see her girl but thought it best not to.
With ease Jenna slid out of the door and ran back to Balto's den. Jenna ran up the ladder allowing them in. "Balto!" Jenna cried. Balto who had been dozing looked up. "Jenna?" he asked. Jenna nodded. Seeing the pain she was in he was instantly alert. "Jenna, whats wrong?" He asked. Jenna buried her head in Balto's large figure. "It's Rosy. She's at the doctors and I think she's hurt bad!" Balto instantly got to his paws. "Jenna I'm so sorry about earlier." He sighed. Jenna looked up and unbreakable love was with them both. "I'm sorry too. I love you." She said Balto nuzzled her affectionately. "Oh also Balto. Steele's back." Balto snarled. "I'm not letting you out of my sight!" He said protectively through clenched teeth. Jenna smiled. "Now lets go see if Rosy is ok." Jenna said. Balto nodded. Together they raced off to the doctors surgeon.
Jenna slowed to a halt as she arrived at the doctors. She exchanged a worried glance with Balto. Confidently Balto stepped forward and scratched the door. Jenna stood close by Balto as footsteps started to draw nigh. With a slight creak the door opened showing an elderly man. "Balto, Jenna." He said greeting them. He turned to Jenna. "I suppose your here to say Rosy?" He asked. Jenna barked in reply. The doctor stepped aside allowing them both enterance. Turning Jenna saw a snarling figure of Steele. Gasping she ran close to Balto who turned and spotted Steele, snarling he turned his back on him and lagged behind so Jenna could go in front.
Jenna ran straight to Rosy. "Jen?" She asked weakly. Jenna placed a head on her girls knee. Next thing she knew Jenna was swamped in hugs and kisses. Balto looked at the doctor. "She has a high fever. Still not got over diptheria. Balto sighed then trotted to Jenna. Soothingly he placed his head on her flank. "She'll be ok Jen. I'm sure." He said softly. Jenna put all four paws back on the ground and looked into the night air. Lets go home. Balto nodded, together they headed for Balto's den. "Jenna..." Balto began as they worked towards the boat. "Yes dear?" Jenna asked. Balto hesitated. "You ever thought of us starting a family?" He asked, embarassed. Jenna looked at Balto. "I would and I'm in heat." Jenna said. Balto smiled, eventually after much discussion they ran to Balto's home. Prepared for what was to come.
The next morning Jenna awake to a rough tug around her neck. She looked around to see a large malamute dragging her by her scruff. "Steele!" She cried. "BALTO!!!!!" She cried desperately. Balto woke with a start to see Jenna being dragged off. "Jenna!" He cried bounding towards Steele. Balto skid to a halt in front of Steele. "Unhand her!" Balto demanded. "Back off wolf-dog!" Steele snarled. Balto pounced bring Steele powerfully to the ground. In his shock Steele accidently open his mouth letting Jenna slip out from between his teeth. Jenna rolled and hit a rock squarly in the belly. She let out an earsplitting yelp. "Jenna!" Balto yelled. He turned to Steele with a ferocious snarl. "Wolfdog. Did you know Jenna and I spent a night together last night?" Jenna weakly got to her feet. Balto turned to Jenna pain etched on his face. "Jenna?" He asked. Jenna shook his head. "Last night after our argument. I came across Steele, together we went to the boiler room. I swear we did nothing. I escaped after he fell asleep." Balto frowned then without warning Steele kicked him and ran to Jenna. He struggled to mount Jenna. Jenna kicked him but wasn't strong enough before anything else Balto had knocked Steele off of her. Balto stood over Jenna protectively. Furiously Balto pounced and headbutt Steele right into a deserted house. Steeles white fur was stained red. "Jenna come on!" Balto said turning and running off. Jenna looked behind her then started after Balto.
Before Jenna could catch up with Balto, Steele had grabbed her hind paw and was dragging her away. "Balto!" She cried. "Wolf dog can't hear you." Steele snarled. Jenna twisted to bite Steele's hind paw. He yelped in pain throwing Jenna into a trash can. Next thing Jenna knew everything was black.
