Daughter

     Dakota had lived in the cave with Anna for, almost a year, altho it had been awhile sence the murder, Anna still was very scared to go out of the den on her own. She would only go if she was with Dakota, or her "aunt'" Angie.

     "Momma... Wake up." Anna whisperd, pokeing her sleeping mother. "W-What? Oh, why? Its sill dark out." Dakota asked. She heard Anna make a strange noise. "Whats wrong?" She asked. "I-I had the dream agian." Anna cried. Anna lied under her mother's arm.

     "Ssshhhh, its okay." Dakota whiperd, trying to calm her. "B-But he's gonna get me, momma!" Anna cried. After Anna finnely fell asleep Dakota got up and walked out to the front of the cave.

     She sat outside, looking into the town were she used to live. Sh had flashbacks of her home, mate and son. She felt her eye's tear up, she held them in. Hearing an odd sound from inside the cave, she walked back in.

     She found Anna, crying, but she was still asleep. "She must be having the dream agian." Dakota said. "Noo! Don't!" Anna said. Now she's talking in her sleep! Dakota thought. "Anna. Anna honey wake up." She said.

     Anna slowly lefted her head. "Mom, I-". "I know, I know. You had the dream agian." Dakota said. "No, this one was different." Anna said. Dakota's eye's whidend. "What was this one about?" Dakota asked.

     "You know, in my other dreams, how he would come after me? Like he did Leo." Anna said.  "Yes.".  "Well this time, he... came after me, but. He, well, while you were sleeping, took me. But he didn't hurt me. He made me stay inside, and I could hear you callin me with aunt Angie. And when I finnely got out to you..." Anna stoped.

     "Did he hurt you?" Dakota asked. Anna shook her head. "No, he whent after you and aunt Angie. Then came back for me. But, then you woke me up." Anna sighed, she was very tired.

     "Anna, it will be morning soon, so you and I need to sleep. And if you have another bad dream, wake me up." Dakota smiled. Anna nodded and smiled back.

     Dakota woke to see the sun, rising over the tree's. She stood and looked at Anna. She smiled when she sa that she was sleeping fine. She was hungery, but was willing to wait for her daughter to wake before leaving. It wasn't long until the sunlight hit Anna. Dakota heard Anna yawn.

     She felt a tap on her back. "Momma, Im hungery." Anna said. "So am I." Dakota replyd. She new where and how to find food, but she didn't want her dauhter eating like she once did. "Come on." Dakota said as she walked out of the cave.

      They walked into town. Dakota heard the sound of a screen-door open. She looked and saw a dog come out with a a boy. "Here ya go Bud." The boy said. He droped down some dog food and whent back inside. The dog turned and saw Dakota and Anna.

     "What are you lookin' at?" He asked. They didn't reply. "You hear me? I asked you a question!" He spat, he started walking off the pourch. Dakota and Anna started to turn away. "Where ya goin'? You scaarred?" He laughed.

     "No." Dakota said. "What?" He growled. "You heard me." She replyd. He ran twared her, but was stoped when his leash wasn't long enough. "At least I can go where I wish." Dakota lauhed and walked in a circle around him.

     "Anna stay here." Dakota said. "Come and catch me!" She said. The male ran after her. She ran around many things, and he followed her. Finnely, she ran around a corner and as he followed her, he fell on his back, he was tangled up.

     Dakota walked up onto the pourch and grabed his food bowl. "Here." She said and gave the food to Anna. She ate about half the food. Dakota took a few bits and gave the rest back to the dog. "Now, your lucky Im nice." Dakota spat and left.

     "Now you see why we don't go out much." Dakota laughed to her daughter. "Are all dogs like that?" Anna asked. "Oh no no no! ONly a few. YOU don't see your aunt Angie acting like that." Dakota replyd.

     They walked in town for a while until Dakota stoped a few fet infront of a house. She walked up and scrtched on the door. They waited, and soon a female border collie/ husky hybrid walked out. "Aunt Angie!" Anna cheered and takeld the grey hybrid.

     "Hello... Anna!" Angie laughed. "Hey Angie." Dakota smiled. The females nuzzled eachother in a friend like way. "Hey, Angie, can you do me a favor?" Dakota asked. Angie nodded.

     "Can you watch Anna for a while? I need to go do a few things."Dakota asked. "Sure, Anna can stay for a while." Angie replyd. Dakota left. Angie lied don and Anna pulled on her bow. "Hey aunt Angie! Lets play!"  Anna said.

    Meanwhile, Dakota walked back to a old home of hers. It was the house she lived ibn, with the old lady, and Martin. She wached the house when suddely, a dog walked out. It was him.

     Dakota dashed behind a trash can. She could hear him talking, and as his voice got qieter, she came out. "Feeww." She sighed. She walked behind a few houses when she heard a sceam.

     Dakota had heard that scream before, and it brought back awful memories. "Anna!" She gasped as she ran tawrd Angie's house. What seemed likea year, she al last made it.

     She saw Anna and Angie crying. Anna had a cut on her side and Angie had three. "Angie wh-." Dakota began but was cut off. "Dakota! He came back! He tryed to hurt Anna but I stoped him. Then he." Angie studderd. "Calm down." Dakota said.

     "How's Anna." Dakota asked. "She crying, but the cut isn't bleeding much." Angie said. "Thanks." Dakota said. "Anna, lets go home." Dakota said calmly. "No! Momma my dream came true! He's gonna get us!" Anna cried. "NO. He's not." Dakota said.

     Dakota and Anna left and went home. Anna went right to the back of the cave. The sun set and Dakota and Anna slept at the back of the cave. "Momma! Momma!" Anna said. "Did you have the dream again?" Dakota asked. "No, but there's somthing big at the front of the cave!" Anna cried.

     Dakota almost jumped up. "Stay here." Dakota whisperd. She slowly walked to the front of the cave. She could see somthing, it was big. She lunged at it and it ran away. "It was just a deer." Dakota smiled.

     That morning, Dakota and Anna woke up and went to Angie's house. Angie greeted them and again, Dakota left Anna at Angie's.

      She almost ran back to that house, she angerly scratched on the door. A large, male dog walked out. "D-Dakota?" He said. "Leave my daughter alone!" Dakota growled. "I just, uhh, wanted to hang out with her." Martin replyd.

     "Then why did you hurt her?!" She asked. Martin growled. "That other dog almost killed me!" He finnaly said. "YOUR lieing! Angie would never do that! And if she was trying to hurt you, why did you hurt Anna?" Dakota snapped. "She got in the way." He replyd.

     "What were you doing there anyway?" Dakota asked. "Oh, I was.. Um." He studderd. "Just what I thought, you went and tried to kill her. But Angie stoped you." Dakota snareld. Martin growled and bared his teeth. "Get out of here, mutt." He spat and walked back inside.

      Dakota walked back to Angie's. "Hi momma!" Anna cheered and ran to her mother. "Hi sweet heart, can you go and play in Angie's dog-house for a minute?" Dakota asked. "Uh-hu!" Anna smiled and ran around the house. "Ang, I went and talked to him. I think he's planing somthing." Dakota whiperd. "Mabey." Angie sighed.

     After Anna and Angie finnaly left, they again, walked to the back of the cave. "Hey, mom." Anna said. "Yes.". "Is, is he gonna come back?" She asked. "He better not." Dakota growled in a whisper. "What?" Anna asked. "Oh, nothing, he isn't coming back." Dakota studderd.

     A few weeks later, Dakota, Anna and Angie, haddent seen Martin around. At first, Dakota kept watch more than playing with her daughter. But as time past, she was with her daughter much more, but that would all chane that afternoon.

     Dakota had left Anna with Angie again. She walked in the boiler room to rest and warm up. She had been in there with a few other dogs for a while and, just as she started to leave, he enterd. "Hey Dakota!" He said with an evil smile. "Im back." He growled.

     The other dog's ran out qickly. "What do you want?" Dakota asked. "I want our daughter back!" He said. "Our daugter? No, she's my daughter! She wants nothing to do with you any more!" Dakota yelled. "Why?" He asked. "You left a scar on her that night! You may not have touched her physically, but you hurt her so much mentaly!" Dakota said with tears in her eye's.

     He lunged at her, but mist. She jumped on his back and bit down hard. He turned and bit her neck. She fell with a loud whimper. She had a larg gash on her throught. She was loosing alot of blood. He put his larg paw on her throught and pushed down.

     Things started to get blury, just before Dakota closed her eye's, a grey figure jumped on Martin and sank its teeth into him, making him run with his tail between his legs. She heard somthing call her name, then everything went black.
