The youngest of the small group of male wolves stared out over the horizon as the sun started to set, turning his red pelt to a blazing fire. The bright sun went below the surface of the earth, and the water in the lake below reflected the gold-orange color.
He was so caught up in watching the sunset, he didn't realize as one of his female companions came up to his side. Turning his head, he hoped for the familiar, sweet blue-grey, but it turned out to be the snappish white wolf. "Oh," He muttered, before realizing how disappointed and rude that sounded.
She didn't seem to mind, and rolled her eyes with a smirk. "Yeah, I know, you were hoping for Rain. Right?" Ignoring how his eyes widened and he opened his mouth to argue, Rowan flicked an ear for him to shut up.
Sitting down, the sleek pelted wolf watched the sun setting as well, with just as much intrest. Her blue eyes started to flame orange.
Toboe blinked, then turned back to watch as well, still standing. Both wolves somehow got the feeling it might be their last sunset, and each wanted to see it go.
After a while Rowan turned to the younger wolf. "So, any headaches lately?"
"...what?" Toboe raised an eyebrow slightly, confused and suprised. He hadn't been having any headaches. What was she talking about?
"You idiot, all of us saw you run smack into that tree the other day. You complained about your head for days." Rowan narrowed her eyes in satisfaction as he let out a slight growl. "Watching Rain, were you? Don't argue, kid, it's true."
Toboe quickly tried to think of something to remark with. Instead, his ears pricked, remembering some black mail he'd gotten and kept to himself a few days back. Grinning wolfishly, he turned to the white wolf. "Tsume been catching you any apples lately?"
Now it was her turn to be baffled. But her expression was quite more humorus. Her eyes were wide and pupils small, not to mention her mouth was open. "What the hell!" She yapped, not able to manage a decent snarl after that.
Rowan had no idea he'd been around that day.
The white wolf was lying under a tree, watching as the waves at the lake's shore. Her blue eyes were calm, instead of so sharp and usually angry looking as usual. Just as she was about to stand, a scent washed over her, and Rowan turned to see Tsume heading her way.
"Oh great," She had muttered, expecting to get chewed out for not helping with anything. Instead, he merely looked at her, until Rowan felt her fur grow hot with some sort of embarassment. "Anything...you want?" She asked.
"Nah...you want an apple?" Tsume lifted his head, golden amber eyes fixed on the red, delicious looking fruits in the branches above. Rowan very nearly laughed, as if he could reach them.
"If you can get it."
In fact, he did...after some climbing and very harsh falls on the ground.
Finally as Tsume set the apple down infront of her, ears pricked, standing up straight with pride, Rowan just couldn't resist but to burst his bubble.
"Tsume."
"Yeah?"
"...Wolves don't eat apples."
"Shit."
"You little snoop-" Rowan raised a paw to slash at him with her claws, before she heard a calling from their other female companion.
"Toboe! C'mon, I wanna take a swim!"
Tail wagging, the red wolf was of course gone before Rowan could do anything else.
