Balto:Do You Love Me?

Chapter 1

Kodi was walking up the plank to his father's dilapidated boat for a visit. He needed someone to talk to about his feelings.

"Hey dad", Kodi said in a low tone, "Can I talk to you"?

"Sure thing son", Balto replied with a big grin plastered across his face, "What do you wan't to talk about Kodi"?

"Well it's about Dusty dad, I really, really like her", Kodi choked out.

"Oh? Then what's the problem", Balto asked quzzingly.

"We..well", Kodi stammered, "she's dating Ralph".

"Oh I see, you like Dusty but, you're afraid that your feelings will effect your friendship with Ralph right"?

"Right. I don't know what to do", Kodi stammered as he slumped to the boat's cold wooden floor.

"Well Kodi, I think it's best that you be patient and don't rush things. You don't want to get Ralph on your bad side".

Kodi face brightened with a smile at his father, "Thanks Dad, I know now what i've got to do". Kodi turned and ran off the boat at lightning speed, he ran into Nome and entered the shed where the sled dogs stayed. Upon entering the shed he heard something. It sounds like someone was crying. He stepped further into the shed and adroitly turned the corner. He saw no one but then the noise sounded like it was above him. Kodi looked up and their was Dusty curled up into a ball sobbing uncontrollaby sobbing. Kodi hated to see someone else in disdain, especially his friends.  He came closer and began to softly, "What's wrong Dusty"? Kodi asked.

Dusty brung her head up in suprise upon hearing Kodi's voice, 'His sweet soft voice, his silky smooth fur that is complemented his big brown eyes, his athletic figure, his....Whoa! What the hell is wrong with me'? Dusty shook these thoughts out of her head hastily. She wipped her eyes that were reddened from her excessive crying and sniffled, "Oh Kodi! I..I'm..fine....nothings..wrong", Dusty sniffled desperately trying not to cry in front Kodi.

"You don't seem fine, come tell me what's wrong", Kodi leaped up to the top bunk and laid down next to Dusty. He put his paw on Dusty's back to comfort her and massaged her her back. "You're doing yourself no good keeping it all bottled up like this Dusty".

Dusty was soothed as Kodi's paw rubbed her back gently. "You're right", she sighed. "Okay i'll tell you". Dusty took a deep breath, she looked and mumbled, "Ralph broke up with me".

Kodi eyes widened in suprise, "What"?

Dusty was on the verge of shedding tears and she just blurted out, "RALPH BROKE UP WITH ME"! Dusty cried. She layed her head down and placed her paws over her head. Kodi continued to massage her back, doing his best to comfort his friend.

"Oh my god Dusty, i'm so sorry", Kodi said softly, "What happened? Did you guys get into a fight"? Kodi asked anxiously.

"I was..I was walking down main street to meet Ralph for a date yesterday", Dusty sniffled, "He told me he had something to tell me........

Last Night

Dusty was walking down main street eagerly anticipating her date with Ralph. It would be known as their three month anniversary of dating. Dusty was hoping was going to ask her what all female dogs eagerly want to hear, 'Will you be my mate'? Dusty saw Ralph just ahead in front off the post office.

Dusty padded up to him and nuzzled him deeply, "Hey honey, Happy Anniversary"! She shouted softly as she nuzzled him.

'Oh man! I wish she wouldn't do that it makes me feel so guilty', Ralph thought. Unbeknownst to Dusty Ralph has been planning to break up with Dusty for some time, but didn't know how.

"So what are we doing tonight, huh"?

"Well.... uh..uh...um Dusty......th..there's been a change in plans..uh ya see..i'm done", Ralph stuttered.

Dusty was taken aback by this, "What...what do you mean".

Ralph rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "Well Dusty....I..I not sure how to say this, but I don't think it's working out", he stammered.

"WHAT! Your breaking up with me! Today of all days on our anniversary! HOW COULD YOU"! Dusty immediately burst into tears. "YOU JERK"! She smacked him hard in his muzzle and took off running tears brimming in her eyes.

The stinging pain from Dusty's smack had left Ralph standing astonished so he eventually turned and went home.

Dusty was sobbing uncontrollably. Kodi tried his best to comfort Dusty rubbing her back gently and making soothing shushing noises.

"I'm sorry Dusty, I know it must hurt but if you need someone to talk to you or a shoulder to cry on i'm here for you", Kodi soothed the female husky.

"Thank you so much Kodi your the best, i'm so lucky to have you", she said nuzzling Kodi passionately.

This shocked Kodi but he soon recovered and returned the nuzzle. Dusty pulled back not realizing what she was doing.

"I'm sorry Kodi I don't know what came over me..I", Dusty's words were cut off by the gentle touch of Kodi's lips pressed against hers. Dusty was shocked but quickly succumbed to the and returned it. They were were locked in a passionate lip lock (or in this case muzzle lock ;). But someone was lurking in the shadows at the happy couple.

Kodi and Dusty broke the kiss both breathing heavily and huge grins on their faces.

"Dusty, there's something I really need to tell you", Kodi said.

"What is it Kodi"? Dusty asked.

"Dusty I...I..lo...," Kodi stammered. He took a deep breath and continued,"I love you Dusty".

"You what"? Dusty siad almost speechless.

"I love you", Kodi repeated.

"OH KODI"! Dusty screeched. Tears of happiness and joy brimmed from her eyes.

"OH DUSTY"! Kodi wrapped his paw around Dusty and pulled her into a tight embrace.

Dusty nuzzled Kodi's neck with the top of her head and whispered, "I love you to Kodi".

Kodi looked at Dusty and smiled. The two drew closer and soon were in another sweet but passionate kiss.

What's going to happen next? Who was spying on Dusty and Kodi? And what is this persons intentions as it relates to Kodi and Dusty?

Chapter 2

Meanwhile, at the boileroom Ralph was talking to Kirby about his recent brake up with Dusty.

"I can't believe you broke up with Dusty, Ralph", Kirby said astonished, "I thought for sure she be the one to break up".

"Yeah, I......wait a minute....What"! Ralph raised his eyebrow.

Kirby smiled sheepishly, "Uh..haha nevermind".

"I mean you don't think I was to harsh on her do ya?", Ralph asked.

"Maybe you should try apologizing ya know"?

"I don't think that's going to happen she probably won't even talk to me", Ralph sighed.
