Wolf's Rain Two: Part 4

Undending Feelings

"But why NOT?! Come on!" Toboe pleaded and fell over on the ground in half submission.

"Oh quit it," Tsume snarled. "Kiba can take care of himself, we don't need to go find him."

Growling slightly, Toboe sat up with his fur bristling. "The whole reason I came out here was to find you two, then go back and get Hige and Blue, then find Cheza! Last step-get to Paradise."

"Well I suppose you will need to go on without me then. I'm not leaving, ever, again." The grey narrowed his eyes stubbornly.

Rain smirked slightly. "Are you afraid, Tsume?" She almost looked teasing, but seemed to be on Toboe's side in this.

"No. Now get out already, it's in the middle of the night!" he yawned and lay down in his den.

In unision, Rain and Toboe leapt forward with wide grins and puppy dog eyes. "PLEASE?!"

"...GO!" Both of them earned a well deserved slash around the ears, and  again in unision they took off.

"We can take a hint!"

Rain sighed and sat down by Toboe, who was by the entrance of the cave, looking up at the almost-full-moon. Toboe flicked an ear and turned to Rain with a yawn. "Shouldn't you be asleep?"

"Ditto," She yawned along with him and looked at the moon with her bright blue eyes.

Toboe blinked and looked at her. She certainly was beautiful, and especially under the moon...Realizing the thoughts that just started popping in his head, his eyes widened in suprise. He didn't even think that way about Leara!

Gee, does Hige feel this way all the time? He's always messing with girls. I wouldn't be able to stand it...

"Toboe? Toboe? Hello...??" Toboe nearly fell over in embarassment. He'd been staring at Rain this whole time!

"Uh...what? Sorry, I was...um...just thinking."

Yeah, wouldn't she love to know what you were thinking about. Whoa...did Toboe just think that?

Rain tipped her head to the side. "Well don't do that again, I was waving a paw in your face and everything. You wouldn't snap out of it."

"Yeah, sorry." Toboe pinned his ears back and looked at the stars, face fur growing hot with embarassment.

The grey-blue female sighed and lay down, head on her paws, and watched the barely snowing fields. "You really want to go find your friends, and that Flower Maiden. Don't you?"

"Yeah, I do." Toboe looked down at Rain. If he didn't know better, he'd think that Rain wanted to come along.

"What's Cheza like, Toboe?" She wondered aloud and looked up at him.

"Well she smells like Lunar flowers and-" Toboe cut off when Rain moved over to his side.

Rain tipped her head. "What?" As if she wasn't sitting directly next to him.

He decided not to say anything about it. "Oh, nothing. Anyway," Toboe thanked the dark skies that she couldn't see him blush. "She really is made of Lunar Flowers, she's really nice and loves all wolves...."

The grey she-wolf listened and talked with Toboe for hours, they didn't even realize Dawn was coming, and they weren't tired a bit.

"...so you really faught a giant walrus? Wow!" Toboe flattened an ear.

"Oh, it was nothing, I guess."

Rain seemed really intrested in all the stories from their journey to Paradise. Toboe had told her almost the whole trip. She really wanted to meet this 'Hige' which made Toboe hold in a growl. The problem; Rain really was a beautiful wolf, single, young, and Toboe liked her. And if she was all of those things, it was obvious what Hige would try.

"Toboe, I want to come with you on the trip to Paradise!" Rain suddenly burst out and stood up, tail wagging. "It sounds like such an adventure. I know it's hard, but if you can make it and 'Porky' can, so will I!" She looked proud of herself for finally saying this.

Toboe opened his mouth to say something, before the very pissed off Alpha charged out of the cave. "You're planning to take my daughter with you?"

Daughter?! Oh shit.

"Dad, I'm the one who asked him!" Rain snapped to Toboe's defense. "And I don't need your permission. I'm old enough to go on my own!"

The Alpha curled his lip, fangs bared. "No, you still have to wait for a whole year before you are ready to leave!"

Toboe stood up with a growl, about to point out that he'd been on his own for a long time, but Rain was faster. "If Toboe can do it, I can! And I'll be safe, too."

"Safe?! With him? Pugh! Fine, if you want to go get yourself killed and have a little boyfriend before you're ready, don't come crying back to me." The large grey snarled and left back into the cave, about to announce the news before Rain could change her mind.

"You sure you don't want to stay," Toboe muttered with his eyes on the ground. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all...

Rain nodded and walked over to him. "I'm sure, and I want to go wherever my friend goes." Friend? Just a friend? Toboe felt a little disappointed.

"How stupid are you exactly?" Tsume came growling, fur bristling and hackles risen. He sighed however. "You were right, though I hate to admit it...We have to find Kiba." Rolling his eyes, he muttered, "Even Porky." Though the real reason was even Tsume wouldn't leave two young pups to wander off alone.

Rain jumped. "You mean we can go on the search for them?!" Toboe's eyes brightened and he stood up, tail wagging.

"Yeah, whatever, fine." The grey growled.

"Thank you so much, uncle!" The smaller grey ran over, whimpering happily.

Uncle? Gee this just gets better and better, doesn't it!

"Don't-ever-do-that-again." Tsume tried not to growl it all out, and instead came near to spelling it.

Rain jumped back, tail still wagging, and turned around to take off down into the snow. Thankfully the blizzard had past and it wasn't even snowing though it was cold.

"Where first?"

"We'll go find Hige and Blue. Toboe, point the way and hurry up."

The red wolf looked South and started heading that way. Rain jumped infront and took off running and leaping in the cold white clouds of snow.

Toboe followed Rain, who was as excited as a pup who saw snow for the first time. Real energetic, hard to keep up with sometimes, he observed. For over an hour they didn't really talk much, and his eyes were glued on Rain.

Finally Tsume shoved him slightly to get his attention. "Runt, if you ever want a girl, don't keep your eyes on her that long." Catching him by suprise, Toboe fell over in the snow.

Standing up, he shook snow from his pelt and decided to stay at the back. I don't like her, I don't like her, I don't like her, gee I do like her... he sighed.

This was going to be a long trip back.
