CHAPTER 1 Happiness to Sadness

After Nyota had died Namna went into deep depression she hardly made any contact with anyone except for her daughter, she just stayed in the cave under Pride Rock, until she thought she should leave, “But mom you can’t I need you,” “No you don’t  I’m not staying, I’m sorry Heri I gave birth to you I gave you love, I gave you freedom, and I saw you grow up but you’re not that grown up yet, I know I should leave but you need to stay here where everyone needs you, I have to leave, I’m really sorry,” and with that Namna got up and started to walked out of the cave with one final look she ran to her daughter and nuzzled her and kissed her the cheek, and Namna was off. Heri watched her mother disappear in the distance of the Pride Lands. All Heri could do was cry she had no one left she lost her brother, her father, and now her mother, just then Tunaini came down Pride Rock and walked to Heri, “You know you still have me and my parents, they could take of you,” “No I’m sorry I can’t I’m going to follow my mother she isn’t going to die alone out there,” Tunaini nodded, “I will cover for you,” “Thanks I’ll be back I promise,” and with that Heri ran off to catch up with Namna. After a few minutes of running she finally saw her mother walking, Heri then shouted, “Mom!! Wait!!” Namna turned and had a smile on her face, “Heri, I don’t know what to say, but I’m happy you came,” they both nuzzled each other, “I didn’t want you to be alone, I want to be with you until you die which I hope will be never,” “Thank you, come let’s go, maybe we will run into Ema on the way,” they both smiled as they walked, “Hey mom you remember when Nuru’s spirit came and visited us, what was that song you sang?” “Oh, that, that was his lullaby, and it was yours too,” “Oh, can you sing it, so I could remember it, if I have any cubs, then I could sing it them?” “Sure, why not,” Namna cleared her throat and began to sing, “Come stop your crying it will be alright, just take my paw hold it tight I will protect you from all around you, I will be here don’t you cry, for one so small you seem so strong, My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm this bond between us, can’t be broken I will be here don’t you cry cause you’ll be in my heart, yes you’ll be in my heart, From this day on, now and forever more, You’ll be in my heart, no matter what they say, you’ll be in my heart, always. And you’ll be in my heart, yes you’ll be in my heart, From this day on now and forever more, Don’t listen to them ‘Cause what do they know we need each other, to have, to hold they’ll see in time I see in time I know when destiny calls you, you must be strong, I may not be with you but you’ve got to hold on they’ll see in time I know we’ll show them together, ‘Cause you’ll be in my heart, Yes you’ll be in my heart, From this day on, Now and forever more, Oh, you’ll be in my heart, No matter what they say, You’ll be in my heart, Always,”  Namna ended her song, and looked at Heri, “There you go my daughter, did you like that?” “Yes I loved it thanks mom,” “Your welcome we are a day and a half away, we are near a cave where me and…and…” “Mom don’t worry I understand, how far are we?” “We are about an hour away then I’ll get us some food and then we sleep,” “Ok,” after an hour they arrived at the cave, “Here we are you stay here Heri and watch the cave I’ll be back,” “Alright,” and with that Namna left looking for food. Heri sat in the cave lying on her back looking at the ceiling, “This is so boring what can I do to pass the time,” she then saw a moth flying around and she started to bat at it. After a few hours Namna finally returned carrying a buffalo, “Well took me a minute to kill it but took me awhile to drag it here, maybe you should’ve helped me,” “Thanks mom, I’m happy that I’m with you and I get to see your old home,” “I know you’ll love it.”      

The next day they left for the jungle again after 2 hours of walking they came to the cavern Futa once had, “Ema! Are you here!?” Namna shouted, just then something came out of the darkness and tackled Namna, then the figure smiled playfully, “Namna it is great to see you again,” Ema nuzzled Namna, “It’s great to see you to,” “What brings you out here?” “We’ll since my love has died I’m going back to our jungle to die there, Heri is coming won’t me so I won’t die alone,” “Why would you want to die, you have so much to live for,” then Heri chimed in, “That’s what I told her,” “Well anyways we are here for you Namna, just don’t go killing yourself, alright?” “Ok, come Heri we are almost there,” “Alright mom, bye Ema it was great to see you again,” “Bye you two have a safe journey.” And with that Namna and Heri left. As soon as they got to the jungle it was high moon and they were both exhausted, “Mom can we sleep yet?” “Heri we sleep deep in the jungle, where nothing can disturb us,” with a big yawn Heri managed to say “Ok can this hurry up we’ve been walking for so long I can barely stand up,” Namna just chuckled, “And when we get there, there is a little stream where we will sleep, you can drink as much as you want,” Heri nodded, and walked up next to her mother smiling.

CHAPTER 2 SADDNESS

After a few days’ Namna woke Heri up, “Heri wake up,” “Huh? Wha…” “I need to tell you something,” “What…What is it?” “My heart stops every minute, it hurts so much I can hardly stand it, every time I think about Nyota, it hurts,” “Well, it hurts because you miss him so much, I miss him too,”  “It feels like I’m going to be sick too,” “Well mom what you have to do is think of the happy time’s you had with him,” “I’ll try, but the other reason I is I wanted to know, is that, who do you want to spend the rest of your life with?” “Oh, I don’t know I haven’t seen any male’s other than Nuru, Dad, and Moyo,” “Well you never know, maybe you’ll meet one like your father met me,” “Really how did he meet you?” “I’d be happy to tell you that story, It was a horrible day for me because I lost my family, and my brother,  I was a cub then I had to survive on birds, mice, and carrion,  I’ve never been so scared in my life I had no one, but after a few months, I grew into an adolescent, I was able to take down bigger things like zebra and gazelle, right when I caught a zebra I ate for an hour until I couldn’t eat no more, I then turned and saw a male he looked so handsome even though he had scar’s over his face, I knew he was the one for me, so I started to clean the blood off of my body, until I finished I sat there looking beautiful, but I noticed that he looked depressed so I just sat there looking occupied, he then looked at me, he was so dumbstruck he almost tripped over his feet when he saw me, he walked up to me and we talked to each other, then I asked him where he was from, he told he was from the Pride Lands, and my dream was to find the Pride Lands, I followed him to Pride Rock, but as soon as I got there with him I thought I wasn’t going to be excepted into the pride, but I was wrong, his parents saw how happy he was with me so they decided to let me stay. The next day I woke up to see Nyota lying next to me, I smiled at him and gave a little lick on the nose to get him up, he did and looked around and saw me, I asked him why he liked being around me, and he said he’s ever seen a more beautiful lioness in his life, and that he’s been waiting for one like me, and that’s when we fell in love. Then after a few more days a battle took hold me, your father, Siri, and Moyo, where running away from but, your father he told us he was going back to help them. I followed him but when I got to where he was Viza was fighting him he got knocked out, I ran right into her but she pinned me to the ground and moved her claws across my stomach, she somehow knew I was going to be pregnant, but as soon as she was about to kill me Nyota pinned her, when he did I saw something in his eyes, it was pure rage, I couldn’t believe that someone as nice as your father could do such a thing, but he did it because he loved me so much. He pinned Viza and tried to make a deal with her, she told her pride to leave, I was sure she wanted to kill Nyota without her pride, she tried, and knocked him to the ground he almost rolled over the edge of Pride Rock, Viza jumped on his back onto his back and bit and scratched, the I saw that he fell, I got scared because I thought that he died, then Viza started to walk towards me then Nyota got up, and challenged her again, I was being pinned the whole time by Ua, then she was knocked off of me by Siri, and Nyota swiped at Viza causing her to lose more blood, after awhile of battling, Nyota finally he pinned her again and killed her, and then after the battle was over, Nyota made the decision to leave the Pride Lands, so I could have Nuru in the sanctuary of this jungle, and that’s the story,” “Wow, mom
