Do I Love Her?
Aljan Darkmoon
She was ever so beautiful
When I first saw her
Fur of rust and white fur of cream
And eyes…a light orange
A bandana she wore around her breast and neck
At first I feared she may have been already chosen
But relief, it was only a gift she had received
From her sire or dam
Or Rosie I do not know
Days passed before I managed to meet her formally
Only to find out poisonous words have already
Been told to her about the blood of a wolf
That ran in my veins
To my surprise she had been trying to seek me out
To see if this was true
‘They make you to be a criminal and nothing more,” said she
‘Knowing ways of blood and hate.’
“But I realize now you are outcasted because they wish it,”
She said almost with sympathy, her voice like a sudden warm breeze in winter
She wished to know about me and slowly I told her of my life
We warmed to each other and became friends
We parted that night but lo!
The same night we met once more.
Jenna had been followed in her search for me and her shadow was my greatest fear and foe
Steele a sled dog, muscular and aggressive, a dog bigger then a normal husky
She cried for aid when she was attacked
I answered and came to her aid, and only I
Steele fled after a battle I overcame due to my attack
And Jenna and I returned to my home for the night
We slept close that night
And together we returned to her owner’s home
Do I love her?
I love her
