When I was old enough to be adopted by a human, my mama and papa set me out

on the front porch in a crate with the rest of my siblings. I knew we would go inside

soon because it was chilly out and she didn't want any of us catching a cold. So, I

played around with Dingo until some girl came over and picked me up. I smiled

at her and she smiled back. I felt a bond between us. I was rested carefully on

the girl's shoulder. I waved goodbye to my siblings and parents. I knew I would

Be back by bed time. As the girl carried me farther and farther away down the

street I began to worry, where was I going? Any way, She stopped at a large

house, plenty big. I rushed down the hall. They were so big, you couldn't knock

anything over like at mama's. I played for a while until the sun was gone. I

yawned and stood next to the door waiting to be taken home. But as many hours

passed, my human never took me home. I whimpered but they did nothing. I

began to grow sleepy and lay on the couch in a large room mama called the

"living" room. I lay there for a while. Then I woke to good smells coming from the

kitchen. I stood up and walked inside. The girl was sitting at a round table eating

some orange drumsticks. I whimpered and she looked at me.

"Mama, I know the perfect name for him!"

"What is that Dear?"

"Selvatico"

"Doesn't that mean Wild?"

"Yes"

I wagged my tail. I liked the name Selvatico. Even though they both though that

I was a boy. I walked over to a plate "Mama" put on the ground. I ate from it. It

didn't taste any better than the stuff at home. I ate it anyways then the next thing

I know, I am thrown outside.

"Bad Selvatico!"

I whined and wondered what the matter was. All I did was eat some thing

shaped like a man.

"He doesn't know about Santa!" I heard Dear say as the door shut.

I wrinkled my nose. They were good but salty. I shrugged a bit then dug a hole in

the north side of the fence. I pranced out of is and walked down the dark streets

of Nome. I saw the dog sled house mama had told me and my

siblings about before we where taken away. I walked inside. A

dog lunged after me and I ran out of there as fast as I could go. I

knew I would never go in there again.

After my second birthday, I was to big to stay in the house. I spent

most of my time outside. I walked down the streets of Nome one night way

passed my bed time. I saw a figure shaped like a male dog. I walked over to

notice it was Jet, Kaltag's son.

"Jenna?"

"Whats?"

"Oh, its you Saba" Jet said as I walked closer. He blushed. I smiled as he

smiled at me. He seemed nice. He was known to be a trouble maker when I was

a pup with my siblings. He stood closer to me and we walked over to the

outskirts near the beach. We got more and more familiar with each other as

many, many, many hours passed. We then ended up at the Boiler room. I

blushed as he said "Ladies first"

"Why thank you"

"The pleasures mine"

We entered the boiler room and sat down not to close to the warm furnace.

"Anything you want to do?"

I shrugged before I knew where he was leading to. I smiled and nodded. Soon,

the room was full of the scent of love.

That morning, I woke up and saw blood on the floor, I remembered last night

quietly slipped underneath Jet. I ran out of there and down the street. Crying.
