don't kill me! I've got a mate and three pups!" This was of course true, and Quincy knew it. Quincy didn't want to believe her at first, but seeing she was being honest by looking into her eyes, he let her go. Quincy looked up and saw a wolf from his pack glaring at him, then run off to another wolf that had one of his pack mates pinned down. Quincy's ears twitched, and he began to look worried. Was the wolf going to tell Yestin the mistake he did?
"Retreat, Fire Pack! Retreat!" a large male wolf howled. The enemy pack turned around and ran away, yelping with their tail between their legs. All of the wolves howled with victory, but Yestin silenced them quickly.
Yestin bgean to walk right up to Quincy, and he didn't seem happy. He looked down at him, hatefully. "I heard you let an enemy get away, is that true?" he growled in a harsh, scary tone.
Quincy gulped and nodded slowly. "Yes... I did..."
Yestin was so angry now, it looked like steam was coming from his ears. "YOU GOD DAMN FOOL!" Yestin scowled, smacking Quincy across the face and making him howl in pain. "You aren't suppose to let an enemy go, even if it's a female and she has a mate and three kids!" Yestin yelled. "I'm giving you one last chance. ONE LAST CHANCE! And if you screw up, you'll never come back EVER AGAIN! UNDERSTAND!"
Quincy yelped in surprise at the yelling, and whimpered, nodding quickly. He got up and began to follow the pack back home, his ears lowered and his tail tucked between his legs. He was expecting Yestin to suddenly turn around and strike him again, but it never happened.
When he came back, Aniu & Christi were waiting for him. Both ran up to him and nuzzled him. Christi thought of Quincy as a son of her own, which was why she was also nuzzling him. She backed away and gasped when she saw the scratch marks on Quincy's cheek. "Quincy! What the hell happened to your cheek?" Christi asked, shock in her tone.
Quincy shook violently. "Yestin hit me across the face, for letting a female with a mate and three kids get away..." Quincy quivered, breaking into tears.
Christi gasped. "Don't worry, it's alright, Quincy. Everything is going to be alright?" she said, nuzzling him in comfort, which worked. Christi then turned around and followed after Yestin into their den.
Yestin rested on the ground, and looked up at Christi who was storming over to him. "Christi, is there a problem?" Yestin asked sweetly.
"How dare you hit Quincy! He was just trying to be friendly, and you scowl him for that?" Christi snapped at Yestin, making him looked surprised.
Yestin looked surprised at his mate's outburst at first, but he suddenly frowned. "That was an enemy though, you never let your enemy get away with doing such an arrogent decision!" Yestin growled.
"Yeah, well I guess you'd probably do the same if you were that kind hearted, which I guess you aren't," Christi snapped, looking away from him.
Yestin snarled a warning out loud. "Listen here, Missy! If you don't behave, I'll -"
"You know what, Yestin, you sound just like your father!"
Yestin blinked in shock as he stared at tears running down Christi's face. He wanted to cry himself too, but he didn't want to show weakness.
Christi turned around and rushed out of the cave, running to Aniu's den. She collapsed at the entrance and began to sulk.
Aniu, who was sleeping woke up quickly, and saw her mother lying on the floor. She got up and rushed over to her, worried. "Mother, what's wrong?" she asked, feeling as if she was going to cry herself.
"Your father threatened me!" she wailed, crying harder.
"It's alright, mother, everything is going to be alright..." Aniu comforted her, nuzzling her in a loving daughterly way. "It going to be alright..."
Quincy woke up in the middle of the night all of a sudden. Everyone that he shared his cave with was asleep. Quincy sighed with relief. He got up slowly and padded outside. He looked up at the night sky, and saw it was a full moon. He also saw it was the perfect night to talk to Aniu. He began to walk towards Aniu's cave, and looked inside quickly. He was confused to see Christi sleeping with her daughter. He wondered why she wasn't in her own cave, where Yestin was.
"Aniu?" Quincy asked, walking a little deeper into the cave. "Aniu, are you awake?"
Aniu's ears twitched and she opened her eyes and looked at him. "What is, Quincy?" Aniu asked, blinking at him.
"I want to show you something," Quincy smiled warmly, wagging his tail a little.
Aniu yawned and got up, walking up to Quincy. "Quincy, it's late, why can't you show me tomorrow?" she asked.
"Because it won't work tomorrow, or even if it did, I would be busy. Just please Aniu, please come and looked at this!" Quincy pleaded, giving her puppy dog eyes.
Aniu sighed. "Oh, alright," she muttered, following Quincy outside. "Where are we going though?" she asked.
"You'll see," Quincy winked at her, and said it in a mysterious tone, making Aniu even more curious than she was just a second ago.
It took them five minutes to get to their destination, which was a dump full of broken bottles. Quincy walked into the dump, telling Aniu to wait for a moment, and grabbed the broken bottles, bringing them to Aniu.
"Come on, let's go somewhere where there is more space," Quincy suggested, and started to drag the bottles away from the dump, into the open.
Aniu bounded after him, worried. "Don't cut yourself, Quincy, I don't want you to get hurt!" Aniu barked, whimpering softly.
Quincy smirked at her. "Don't worry, I won't," he chuckled softly. He pushed the bottles into the moonlight, began to play around with them, for awhile, then stepped back. Then suddenly, bright lights came from the bottles and shone in the sky above them proudly.
Aniu gasped. "The northern lights!" Aniu's breath was suddenly taken away, and she caught it back, as she stepped forward to loo at them closer. "Quincy... it's beautiful..."
"Yeah... beautiful..."
Aniu looked into Quincy's eyes, seeing that he was looking at her instead. They both smiled at each other, and pressed their noses to theirs. They nuzzled each other lovingly, and they both laid down together, snuggling. Pretty soon, they fell asleep...
Quincy woke up surprised. He was laying on something, or someone. He looked down and saw it was Aniu. He gasped and quickly got off of her, and shook his pelt, trying to get the strange feeling he had caught out of him.
Aniu yawned when Quincy got off of her, and she looked at Quincy with a warm smile. "Hello, Quincy," she said softly. How was your sleep?"
Quincy smiled a little, but only fakely. "I had the best sleep I ever had in previous years," he yawned, stretching his legs out. "How about yours?"
"It was so amazing. I haven't slept like that for a long time," Aniu giggled, getting up. She suddenly began to feel sick in the stomach. "Hang on for a moment," she said, walking over to a bush and vomitting, then going back to Quincy. "I think we should go back to the pack, I'm not feeling so well," she mumbled, walking away slowly and Quincy following right behind her.
Along the way, Aniu felt a sharp pain in her stomach and collapsed, coughing hard.
"Aniu! Are you alright!" Quincy paniced, helping Aniu up and nuzzling her in comfort just in case she was frightened.
"I don't know, I'm not feeling so well," Aniu panted. She was scared. She didn't know what was going on. "Hurry, we need to get to the pack fast before I get more sick!" she coughed again, and they both rushed there. Once they made it, Quincy explained to Christi how sick Aniu was, so she and Yestin brought Aniu into their den and checked her over.
"Aniu! What happened to you! Did you eat something bad for you!" Christi asked, worried for her daughter.
"I don't know, all I ate was a rabbit yesterday, I don't know why I feel so bad!" Aniu cried.
Christi suddenly began to smile. "Quincy was with you when you came back and left, right?" Christi asked.
"Yes..." Aniu mumbled. Then the pain came again. "Argh! Mom!" she cried again.
Christi chuckled softly. "Congratulations Aniu, your expecting puppies!"
Aniu stopped whining and blinked in surprise. She looked up at her mother, shocked. "I'm expecting puppies...?" she asked in a softer voice. "Is that... is that a good thing...?"
Christi kept smiling. "It's a beautiful thing! Isn't it dear?" she asked, turning to face Yestin but was surprised that he was gone. "Uh... Yestin...?" her ears perked up when she heard cries of pain and yelling. She got up and ran quickly outside, seeing Yestin holding Quincy by the neck, choking him.
"You got my daughter pregnant with hybrid puppies, and now I'm going to kill you for that!" Yestin growled, smashing his head against the ground.
"Stop!" Christi cried, running at Yestin and knocking him off of his feet to the ground, making him let go of Quincy.
Yestin gasped and looked up, shock in his eyes. "You... you striked me...!" he said in shock, tears of fear forming his eyes.
"Yes, I did!" Christi growled. "And now I'm leaving, bringing Quincy and Aniu with me. Come on!" Christi began to walk away.
Quincy looked over at Aniu who was standing at the den with Kweku. He shrugged and began to follow her. Aniu also followed, and surprisingly, so did Kweku. They walked off in the distance with Christi until they disappeared out of sight
