A Lost Love
Summary: This is my version of Aniu & my version of Balto's father, Quincy, meeting. Quincy always thought that racing was much more important than love, friends, & family. That all changes though when he meets a beautiful white wolf named Aniu. Aniu takes him into her pack, but it seems her father doesn't trust him, but the other wolves seem very interested in the sled dog. Can Quincy earn Aniu's father's trust?
Rating: The rating is PG for violence, fighting, mild language, and maybe a little romance.
Setting: Takes place on a farm near Fairbanks, Alaska, 1920

Author's Note:
Yes, finally, my second fan-fic! I enjoy making stories like these, now!
Anyways, my second fan-fic is of course about Aniu & my version of Balto's father, Quincy, meeting and falling in love with each other, and where I think Balto was born.
Quincy's previous name was Tad, from a past fan-fic I wrote before, "Aniu & Tad", before I quit the site. I wanted to rewrite the story though, and give Tad a new name. I figured that it could be Quincy. I'm not sure what it means, but I know it's a French name, and I'm learning French at school, so I figured to put a character with a French name on here.
I also added Maxwell in here, from "The Wolf Within His Soul". Which means that the beginning of the story takes place before Maxwell becomes wild in a wolf pack.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this fan-fic better than the previous one! Enjoy!

Chapter One
"Aniu! Stop watching the sled dogs race with so much interest! I've told you a millions of times, and if I have to tell you a million more times, your not going to be a sled dog!"
A young white female snapped out of attention and turned around, seeing another white wolf behind her, and he didn't look too happy.
"Oh, daddy!" the female cried, known as Aniu. "I can't help it! Sled dogs are just... just so interesting! I don't get how you won't let me do anything I want!"
"Well, if you run from home and meet up with a husky, a male husky, I don't want my daughter coming back with hybrid puppies!" her father growled, stepping forward.
Aniu stared at him, disgraced. "What's wrong with dogs anyways, daddy!" Aniu growled. "All because they pull sleds and they work for humans, doesn't mean they still can't be wild or not hunt or not fight! Trust me, I've seen two sled dogs fighting before and they spilled blood like we wolves do with fights!
Her father growled more. "Aniu, no is no! I order you to stop watching them!"
Tears swelled up in Aniu's eyes. "I hate you, dad!" she cried. Aniu ran away, sulking.
Aniu's father was about to chase after her, but a voice stopped him.
"Yestin, just leave her. She'll come back soon."
Yestin turned around and saw another female white wolf standing behind him. He sighed. "I'm sorry, Christi. I'm just worried for our daughter. I want her to be happy."
"Well, the only tihng that'll make her happy is meeting one of those sled dogs, why can't you just accept that?" Christi asked, walking up to him. "And so what if she mates with a sled dog?"
Yestin sighed again. "Yeah, I guess. But if man saw her? We might lose her or she might put herself & I & you & the pack in danger. I don't want that to happen."
"Our daughter's too smart to be caught by man," Christi argued. "So stop being such a worry wart and leave her be!"
Yestin nodded slowly, and began to follow his mate back to the cave.
"Quincy!"
The young brown male husky snapped to attention and looked towards another husky. The husky sighed. "Are you day dreaming again, Quincy?" he asked.
The brown male, known as Quincy frowned. "Emilianno, so what if I am day dreaming?" he asked. "I only do it when I'm bored or if I'm sleeping! You just irrupt me from my thoughts for no reason, and then leave me alone! Can you stop that!" Quincy growled.
The other husky, Emilianno's ears pinned back. "Well, snappy," he snapped back. "If your just going to be a grumpy old head, I won't be talking to you anymore!" He snorted and walked away.
Quincy sighed sadly, and laid down, resting his head on his paws, whimpering sadly. He didn't really mean to hurt his friend.
"Don't feel bad, Quincy. Emilianno shouldn't be bossing you around for no favor either, if you don't like that."
Quincy's ears twitched and he looked around, seeing a male husky staring at him. He sighed again. "I know, Vaughn. It gets really irritating just hearing him babble his mouth all of the time when he doesn't even need anything."
Vaughn smugged a little. "Come on, Quincy, weren't we suppose to meet your sister, Vivianna again?" Vaughn, asked blushing lightly.
Quincy smirked and rolled his eyes at Vaughn. He knew that Vaughn had a thing for his sister, Vivianna, and Vaughn couldn't deny it. "Sure," Quincy responded, getting up & walking out of a barn he had been laying in.
He looked outside at the fresh, bright daylight, & began to go to the entrance of the farm, and left the property, and began to walk down the road with his trusty Vaughn at his side.
Quincy walked past another farm, where a border collie male stood at the entrance.
"Morning, Quincy, Vaughn," the border collie greeted with a wave of his tail.
Quincy & Vaughn also wagging their tails. "Good morning, Maxwell," Quincy said first, then Vaughn repeated.
"Where are you headed off to?" Maxwell asked, flickering his ears at them.
"Oh, we're going to go see my sister, Vivianna. Do you wanna come?" he asked.
"Sure!" Maxwell pipped up, wagging his tail harder, and he ran over to the two to join them.
All three of them began to leave towards the town of Fairbanks.
Quincy, Vaughn, & Maxwell finally arrived to Fairbanks, and Quincy took lead, showing the other two to Vivianna's house.
They arrived at a door on a porch, & Quincy scratched on the door.
It was a couple of seconds later, a female husky opened the door and peeked outside. She smiled warmly and stepped outside, closing the door behind her.
"Hello, brother," she said, giving him a sisterly loving nuzzle. She looked at Vaughn. "Hello Vaughn." The she gazed dreamly towards Max. "Hello Maxwell..."
Maxwell, blushed lightly and wagged his tail. "Hello, Vivianna," he grinned sheepishly.
Quincy looked over Vaughn, who had a look of jealousy planted on his face.
"So, what are you guys doing here?" Vivianna asked curiously.
"Oh, we just wanted to say hi," Quincy grinned. "Want to go for a walk with us?"
Vivianna nodded. "I wouldn't mind a walk."
Quincy nodded, still smiling, and all four of them left the porch and went on there walk.
"So, how has things been doing for you, Viv?" Quincy asked, smiling warmly over at his sister.
Vivianna smiled back. "Oh just the same old routine, nothing special."
"Did you meet anyone new that you like or something?" Vaughn pipped up, looking a little embarrassed.
Maxwell & Quincy froze in their footsteps, and looked at Vaughn like he was crazy.
Vivianna also looked at him, and rolled her eyes a little. "No, not yet. I'm looking though," she responded.
Quincy's ears twitched when he heard yelling and a yelp. He looked near a butcher shop where he was closely standing, and saw a white female figure running off with some meat, leaving the shop really quick with an angry owner.
The female was quite huger than a dog, so she couldn't possibly be one. But then if she wasn't, what would this stranger be?
Without thinking, he ran away from his friends, and raced right after the large dog.
Max, Vivianna, & Vaughn stared after Quincy, calling him to come back and not to go.
It was a very long run for Quincy, but he was use to that, since he was the lead dog of a sled team.
The chase went out of the town of Fairbanks, and into the woods in the outskirts.
This female was very fast, and she did very quick, sharp turns, and would be easy to loose, but then next time easy to find. The female also looked a little irritated by Quincy following her the whole time, so she turned around and growled viciously at the young husky, dropping her meat.
"Will you stop following me! I'm not doing anything wrong!" she snapped, threatening Quincy to back off our he would get hurt.
Quincy frowned at the female and stopped. "Well, you don't look like a dog to me, and I was just wondering what you were," he grumbled.
The female snorted at him like he was dumb. "I'm a wolf, you idiot, not a dog!"
Quincy gasped lightly in surprise. "A wolf!"
The female wolf rolled her eyes. "Yeah, no duh! Have you ever seen a wolf before? And can you stop following me too?"
"I'm sorry," Quincy muttered, twitching his ears. "I'm just curious on what your name is."
The wolf tilted her head to one side at Quincy, raising a brow. "Why do you want to know my name?" she asked.
"I don't know," Quincy said quietly. "I'll tell you mine first if you'd like. I'm Quincy."
The wolf smiled a tad bit, blushing a little. She began to think that Quincy was kind of cute.
"It's Aniu," she stated, still blushing a little.
Quincy smiled warmly, and wagged his tail. "Aniu? That's a beautiful name for a beautiful... wolf like you."
Aniu blushed harder.
There was suddenly an awkward silence between the two of them, then there was a loud call of Aniu's name.
Aniu
