Kaltag requested this and she owns Demon and Lithor.

Whenever I see the moon over a mountain, I think of Demon, a wolf who taught me more than I ever thought I could learn. Now, I always know within me I can do anything because she taught me about life and love.

Demon looked across the clearing where her pack lived. It was deserted as dawns early lights stretched across the clear sky. She shook her purple fur as she stretched her purple paws, yawning.

Demon heard the quiet crack of a twig and spun around, fur bristling. But she relaxed when she saw her friend, Tundra. Tundra had silver fur and ice blue eyes. Her ears are different than most wolf ears because instead of going straight up, they drooped down a little bit.

"Hey," chuckled Tundra. "Don't have a heart attack. It's just me." She sat down beside Demon.

"I knew that," Demon replied, sitting down.

"Uh-hu," snorted Tundra.

"Really!" Demon replied, getting a little irritated. She had always had a short temper and Tundra knew that so she dropped the subject.

"Guess what," barked Tundra.

"What?" Demon asked in reply.

"I have no idea!" Tundra replied, wagging her tail like she had made a huge discovery.

"Lovely," chuckled Demon.

"Why are you sitting out here so early?" Tundra asked.

Demon sighed. She had known that this would come up. "I've been waking up early recently. I have a feeling that something terrible will happen."

"Well, don't worry," Tundra replied. "It can't be too terrible, right? As long as we have the pack, we're fine."

"You're right," agreed Demon. "Why am I so worried?"

"I dunno," Tundra replied.

Demon said, "Want to get some breakfast?"

"Why not?" Tundra trotted to the pile of prey and grabbed a large rat. "Share?" Demon shrugged and bent down to take a bite but instead of taking a bite, she grabbed the rat and ran. "Hey!" Laughing, Tundra raced after her friend.

Demon glanced over her shoulder, saw Tundra running after her and ran faster. Demon thundered across the grassy ground as the sun crept into the sky.

"Hey! Stop!" A voice howled after them. Tundra slowed to a stop and Demon followed her example. "The pack are just waking up." A gray wolf trotted to the two friends. "Tundra, go hunt, Demon go back to the camp." Tundra growled but did as she was told.

"Why?" Demon snarled as Tundra disappeared from view.

"The leader wants to see you," the gray wolf replied. "What’s it to you?"

"It’s me he wants to see, bone-head!" snapped Demon.

"Oh yeah, right," replied the gray wolf. "He says that it’s private." Demon glared at him then trotted to the leaders den.

"Hello?" She slowly entered the pitch-black cave. She felt her nose touch a sticky substance. She drew back, disgusted. Spider webs!

"Demon," said a voice.

"Kikiwi?" Demon asked, her purple fur rising slowly.

"Yes." The leader trotted to her. "You don’t have to be so fierce all the time."

"With you I do," snapped Demon. "You killed my sister."

"I did not!" Kikiwi snarled. "I told you, she died of her own accord."

"What did you want of me?" Demon asked.

"I wanted…" He hesitated. "I wanted to tell you to go hunt."

"You lie," she snapped.

"I do not," he said.

"I can sense it," she snarled.

"Leave," he told her. "Go find your friend, daughter."

"I am no daughter of yours." Demon turned and left. Once she was gone, a white wolf entered.

"Is it done?" Kikiwi asked.

The wolf nodded his large head. "Yes."

"Give Demon a few minutes to find her friend then bring the pack to her," Kikiwi instructed. "You have done well, Glacier."

"Keep your part of the bargain," Glacier growled.

"Fine." He flicked his tail and looked at the wolves at the back of the den. "Release the prisoners." A gray wolf nodded his head and threw a small, skinny pup at Glacier, who caught him in his teeth.

"Now give me Breeze," he ordered.

"Oh yes," Kikiwi said. "Your mate, isn’t she? She didn’t make it, I’m afraid." Losing control of himself, Glacier turned to the guards.

"Leave us," he barked. The guards grinned at him as they passed.

"You had something going on with them?" Kikiwi asked, his eyes widening.

"Oh yes," Glacier said. "You see, we all think that your time as come." Kikiwi’s eyes widened as Glacier advanced on him.

Demon raced through the trees. Where was Tundra? Demon’s paws flew across the wet earth as the clouds began to sprinkle. She stopped and looked at the sky as the rain started to fall harder.

"A wolf of the Rain Cloud Pack has died today," she murmured. All of the wolves in her pack, the Rain Cloud Pack, believed that when the sky began to cry (rain) without a warning, one had just died. She considered turning back but changed her mind. She had to find Tundra! She ran onward, searching for the form of a white wolf. Then she saw her friend. Although, Tundra was not recognizable anymore. Her fur was stained red.

"Tundra!"

Even though, Demon had been about to cry her friend’s name, she didn’t have time. A light gray male wolf beat her to Tundra. Demon started towards them but the male swerved his head around to look at her and snarled.

"Keep away from her, filth!" he growled.

"What?" Demon clawed the ground. "Who are you to tell me to stay away?"

"Tundra’s brother," he snarled.

"Shadow." Demon was struck with realization. "I didn’t recognize you. You’re never angry. You’re a- what is it? Pacifist?"

"I don’t like fighting," he snarled. "But I could kill you now."

"What?" Shock flew through Demon. "Why?"

"Don’t act innocent," he growled. "You killed my sister."

This made her blood run cold. "What?"

"Don’t play innocent."

Howls rang out through the morning air. Demon turned around and saw her pack filing toward them. Glacier snarled at Demon and stepped forward.

"She killed our leader then killed her "friend"!" he screeched.

"What?" Demon snarled at him. "If you’re going to accuse me of something, warn me first, will you?" She turned back towards her friend but she was tackled by Shadow, who pinned her and snarled.

"Do not kill her," Glacier growled. "Let her go."

This caused an uproar. "Why?" called the wolves of the pack.

"She is no use to us dead," the white wolf snapped.

"What use is she alive?" asked Shadow.

"I cannot tell anyone near her," hissed Glacier. Shadow growled but moved out of Demon’s way. Demon leaped to her paws and glared at every single one of them. How could they? She knew them all better than that! Or so she thought.

"I am leaving now," she said, "and I won’t be back."

Lithor stretched his brown paws and yawned. He trotted into the sunlight and plopped down into its bright rays. He yawned and looked around. He had almost forgotten that he wasn’t with the pack. Man, he felt stupid! He was a member of the Tryluns, a pack of banished wolves from different packs who work in secret to bring down wolves who grabbed the packs using evil means. He had left to find help but so far he had no luck. e He stre He stretched once more then set off through the forest. He had only been walking about 5 minutes when a purple wolf ran straight into him. She stood up and glared down at him, as he stood slowly.

"Who are you?" she demanded.

"Lithor," he replied. He looked at her and realized she wasn’t any older than he was, only about 2 years. "You?"

"Demon," she said. "My pack banished me." His ears perked up. "They said I killed my leader, Kikiwi, and my best friend. It’s not true though! I think Glacier did it."

"Glacier?" he asked.

"He’s probably going to be their new leader," Demon told him. "I have no where to go." Then she realized what she was saying. "But that doesn’t mean I trust you! I just had a lot on my chest and wanted to share with someone."

"I was banished too," he said.

"Why should I care?" Demon asked.

"No reason," Lithor responded. "I know a place you can go."

"I’m not that interested in having a place to sleep," Demon growled. "I want revenge."

Lithor chose his words carefully. "Well, the place I want to take you are planning to get… er… revenge against those who lied and murdered."

This interested Demon. "Oh, really? I guess I could go…" Lithor’s heart leapt. "But," she added, "we’re not friends."

"I understand," he said. He swept one paw off the ground and bowed. "I am your guide." Demon looked at him like he had suddenly turned into a cat.

"Yeah… don’t do that." She brushed past him. "Well, which way?" Lithor shook his head. She was really killing his style.

"This way," he said as snow started to lightly fall.

"I thought you knew where you were going!" Demon howled over the wind.

"I do!" Lithor yelled. "I never said it was easy!" Demon snorted. To her, not mentioning it wasn’t easy was like not mentioning it was a death route. Not that she couldn’t make it, she could, but all the same, he should have told her! Now, they were on a mountain path in the middle of nowhere!

"Yeah, whatever," she grumbled.

"Okay." Lithor spun around to face her. "You have to help me here. We have to work together."

"I’d sooner die," she snarled.

"If we don’t, we’ll both die," he said coolly.

Demon wanted to say, "so be it" but she held herself back. "Fine. How do we work together?"

Lithor smiled. "Trust me."

She stiffened. Trust this wolf? Why not ask her to remove her legs? She decided to say nothing except, "Let’s keep moving."

He nodded. "Ok." He led her
