Wolfheart sat at the base of the Great Rock, pride swelling in her heart. Her four kits, Foxkit, Creasedkit, Nightkit and Shadowkit, has finally turned six moons old, and were becoming apprentices.
Nightkit, Foxkit and Shadowkit had already done their turn and earned their "paw" name and had gotten assigned a mentor. Foxpaw had gotten Squirrelflight, Nightkit had gotten Emily (Quite oddly) and Shadowkit had gotten his own father, Shadowheart.
Now Firestar was announcing Creasedkit an apprentice.
Wolfheart listened, head held high, as Firestar announced that Brambleclaw would be his mentor.
The cats of ThunderClan and LeafClan started chanting, "Nightpaw, Foxpaw, Creasedpaw, Shadowpaw!'
LeafClan was the Clan that had come to the forest a moon ago in search of a home. ThunderClan took them under their wing, and told them that they could stay until they had claimed their own living place.
Wolfheart walked up to her kits. "Congradulations." And, with a hint of humor in her eyes, she added, "And thank StarClan I can go back to the warriors den!"
Her kits, even Shadowstrike purred with amusment. Shadowheart walked up behind Wolfheart and gave them all the big dad-like 'congrats'.
"Well, I guess that we have to start training tommorrow..." Sighed Creasedface. Wolfheart was noticing that Creaseface wasn't so amazingly excited. "What's wrong, dear?" Wolfheart asked, her head tilted.
"Well..." He hesitated. "I...I was kinda..." He stopped. "Nevermind..." He mumbled.
Wolfheart didn't want to pressure him, so she let loose.
The next day, Wolfheart promissed to take Darkpaw out for his first real training with her.
"Are you excited?" Chucked Wolfheart as she watched him bounce towards the Training Hollow. They were walking in the forest, on their way there.
"You bet!" He purred. As they arrived to the Training Hollow, Wolfheart saw Foxtail and Shadowstrike training with their mentors, Squirrelflight and Shadowheart. Shadowheart gave Wolfheart a little nod, as if to say, 'Don't get distracted by me.' So that's exactly what Wolfheart did.
"Alright, Darkpaw. Show me what Sandstrom's showed you." She said, getting into the fighting position.
"Well..." He had his 'sneaky eye' on. "Well, what?" Asked Wolfheart, relaxing a bit. There came his attack, right out of the blue. He pounced onto her, pinning back her shoulders to the ground- a perfect aim to the neck.
Wolfheart just lay there on the ground, wide-eyed and amazed. "...Wow..." Was all she could say. "Maybe you need to be the mentor and I need to be the apprentice." She purred, getting off the ground.
"Was it really that good?" He chuckled. "Yes." She responded, "Never did I even see that move when I was an apprentice in RiverClan. Darkpaw, I think that Sandstorm may have taught you three quarters of what you needed to know! C'mon, show me what else you've got."
Wolfheart plopped down in the warriors den, new scents of LeafClan and just plain warriors all around her.
Apprenticing Darkpaw wasn't hard, but she could've sworn that he was some kind of cat ninja! He was amazing!
Wolfheart yawned, tucked her forepaws under her chest, and closed her eyes, falling into sleep.
Wolfheart opened her eyes as she recognized Fourtrees, foggy with a tang of StarClan cats. She wasn't surprised- it seemed like every time she had a dream with the StarClan cats it was at Fourtrees.
Cats began walking into the clearing- Grayheart, Russetfur, Redleaf... and there were other cats...cats she didn't know. One was a thick-haired gray she-cat, another a blue-gray she-cat, and the last a crooked-jawed tom.
"Er...Who's this?" She asked. Grayheart looked a bit confused, then the light of understanding poured into her blue eyes. "You haven't ever met them, have you? Oh, excuse me. This is Yellowfang, Bluestar and Crookedstar."
Wolfheart's eyes stretched wide. Bluestar? She couldn't be serious! Why would Bluestar visit her in a dream?
But before she could speak of her amazment, Bluestar chuckled and put her tail tip over Wolfheart's mouth. "No need to be amazed." She purred sympathetically. "But we have all come here to tell you about one of Yellowfang's prophecies."
Wolfheart groaned. "It's a pleasure to meet you all, but I've already solved a prophecy, not too long ago...Well, sort of...I need to figure out what night means."
Crookedstar chuckled. "Young one, there is no need for you to solve the prophecy, but there is need for Badgerfur to."
Badgerfur? What could they mean? "Uh...Why wouldn't you just send Badgerfur a dream instead of me? We're from different Clans..."
Yellowfang purred. "You will see why soon."
Well, that was almost like a prophecy itself- confusing and hard to solve. "Please, tell her what the porphecy is already..." Groaned Russetfur.
Yellowfangf started, her voice quiet: "Darkness will spill, death will emerge, emotion will fall, and storm will suffer."
Wolfheart stared at her, completely confused. "Uh..." Was all she could say.
Redleaf chuckled a bit. "Just send this prophecy to Badgerfur, you have enough clinging to your fur like water already!"
Wolfheart nodded as the starry cats began to fade, and she awoke in two-Clan-smelling warriors den. It was still dark- nowhere near dawn Wolfheart guessed. She figured that she wouldn't be sleeping anymore, so she decided to go over to RiverClan territory and find Badgerfur- with any luck, she'd find him out picking herbs, she knew that Badgerfur liked to do that mostly at night time.
She almost tripped over Stormipelt- she didn't like Stormipelt very much. She snored in her sleep, was annoying, and thought she knew the answer to everything (Even though she had only been a warrior for a moon).
She grunted and dodged her noisy body, exiting the warriors den.
Wolfheart went to RiverClan territory, and Badgerfur's scent was a bit farther off than she would have liked it to be. She groaned and began to follow it.
Her nose held high, sniffing the air, she caught another scent, not pleasent at all, and not Badgerfur.
She became tense, and her neck fur bristled at the farmiliar scent of Bloodstep- the RiverClan deputy.
Bloodstep stepped into the clearing with a hiss. "What are you doing here?!"
Wolfheart felt the need to run, but her pride told her no- don't cower out. "I-I'm brining a prophecy from StarClan to Badgerfur!"
Bloodstep snickered. "A prophecy, eh? Well, why don't you give it to me, I'll tell him."
Bloodstep was good at sounding trustworthy- though he wasn't. This prophecy had nothing to do with him, Wolfheart wouldn't let it get into the wrong paws.
"No, Bloodstep. I can't do that." She murmered, looking down at her paws. Bloodtstep's neck fur stood on end. "Why not?" He hissed angerly. "Because, this prophecy has nothing to do with you! You're just a nosy, ambitous, Tigerstar-wannabe!"
Bloodstep curled back his lip in a snarl and unsheathed his claws. Wolfheart had done it now, and she knew it. Oh crap...
"I KNEW your mother and I made a mistake!" He hissed.
"What?" Wolfheart was terribly confused. Bloodstep snickered. "Oh, you didn't know? I figured that Icepool would've told you...Before she went..."
An icy claw stabbed at Wolfheart's heart. Her mother was killed by the dog pack. The horror Wolfheart had felt when she saw her dead mother's scratched, bitten and abused body laying on the ground in ThunderClan territory.
Wolfheart shook her head, putting the thought into the back of her mind. "Please tell me." Wolfheart knew she sounded pitiful, which was the worst thing that could happen in front of Bloodstep, but she couldn't help it.
Bloodstep snickered again. "Alright then."
He looked Wolfheart strait in the eyes.Wolfheart felt as if his red eyes would pierce right through her. "I'm your Father."
Wolfheart couldn't say anything, move, or even breathe for a minute. She was too filled with shock. "W-What?" She finally said after what seemed like a million heartbeats.
Right about that time, Badgerfur walked into the clearing, confused. "Uh...Is there something I should know about here?"
Bloodstep shook his head. "I'm sorry. Wolfheart wanted to talk to you, and I held her up." Meowed Bloodstep. Wolfheart knew that Bloodstep was ambitious, but he was no fool. He was smart enough not to say anything harsh to a medicine cat. "I will go now." He said, and then padded out of the clearing.
Badgerfur walked up to Wolfheart. "What are you doing out here? It's late." He gave her a nuzzle, then set his blue eyes on hers. "I have a prophecy to give you." She told him. "Oh?" He said. He tilted his head in confusion. "Did StarClan send it to you?" He asked. Wolfheart nodded. "Alright." He meowed. "Let's hear it."
Wolfheart tried to remember what the prophecy was, put the words together in her head, then said it:
"Darkness will spill, death will emerge, emotion will fall, and storm will suffer."
Once she had finished, she looked at Badgerfur, who was lost in thought. "I have no idea what this prophecy means." He sighed. StarClan will guide me through it.
Badgerfur looked up into the sky, and noticed a patch of dawn emerging up over far-away Highstones. "It will be dawn soon. I think that it would be safe for you to go back to your Clan, Wolfheart."
Wolfheart gave him a lick on the ear, and said, "I will." Then she began to pad away, but before she could leave the clearing, she heard a sigh come from Badgerfur.
