The sun began to set behind the LupinPack's valley. The moon was already beginning to rise above the tree tops. Everyone had finished eatting and was heading into their dens for a good night's rest. Some of them will have to wake up early the next morning to head into the Northlands. Truck wasn't taking any chances with Waya, since she had already said she was going to go to the Northlands.
Truck wasn't going to allow it, he wasn't going to let Waya sacrifice ehr freedom for the sake of some trapped souls, so...he was going to kill his brother and take over the Northlands in Lee's place and keep Waya safe from doing the same.
Punished by Truck, Waya was sentanced to stay inside the den till Truck had killed Lee, but she had different plans.
Truck walked toward the den, which was being guarded by two guards. Truck nodded to them and they side-stepped away and he walked in to see Waya. Waya was "asleep" in the back of the den. Truck sighed and walked toward her. Her back was facing him as she "slept".
"Waya." he called lowly to her and put a paw on her back and shook her gently.
Waya opened her eyes and turned her head to face Truck. "What?" she asked him.
Truck knew she was and at him, but he had to keep her safe. "Waya, I'm doing this to protect you. I don't wanna lose you." he explained to her.
"I know..and I've accepted that." she lied.
Truck smiled. "Okay, I'll see you in the morning." he said and licked her muzzle, then to her forehead and left out of the den, guards taking their spot once more.
Waya smirked and sat up. Waya waited about an hour before it was pitch black outside.
Emily woke up within that hour and trotted out of her den. Dakota met her and the two of them headed toward Waya's den. It was good that they were moving in through the darkness, cause then the guards wouldn't know what happened.
Emily snuck behind the den, Dakota on the other side. Dakota had to eb careful because of his white coat, but he made his move on the guard right as Emily sank her fangs into the guard's scruff and knocked him out quickly ebfore he had a chance to sound an alarm.
Dakota had done the same and dropped the guard. Waya was already waiting and she snuck out of the den. "Let's go." said Waya and the three wolves bolted out of the den site soundlessly.
The three wolves, Waya at the front, Emily on the bottom right, Dakota on the bottom left ran toward the Swamps, where it elad toward the beach, which lead into the island of the Northlands. Waya's heart raced and her blood roared in her ears.
She couldn't help, but feel guilty for not telling Truck what she was doing, but...she knew that he wouldn't let her. She sighed and stopped when she saw the entrance to the swamp. She knew it was dangerous to track through the swamp at night, but she had no choice, Truck would be moving out at dawn.
Waya plunged into the icey cold swamp water and trecked through the deeo water.
Emily and Dakota were right behind, not heistating to follow their leader.
Waya was panting heavily by the time they reached the shallow parts of the swamp and she staggered onto a little piece of land in the middle of the swamp. Waya shook her coat and she shivered.
Emily and Dakota came up beside her and sat there.
"How far do you think we still have to go?" asked Waya.
"Maybe...another thirty minutes." guessed Dakota.
Waya stared up at the cresent moon. It was nearly in the middle of the sky. "It's around midnight, we better hurry up." she said and plunged back into the icey waters.
Emily looked at Dakota, before plunging back into the waters also...
---
"They're coming." said Zena, opening her eyes and staring at Lee, who stood beside her.
"Is Waya with them?" he asked.
"Yes, and her hopes are high..and her eyes are full of determination...Full of determination to kill you." she said slowly, looking at her leader.
"Let her try." Lee smirked.
Lee went to his pack and howled.
The pack returned his howl, and they began to get ready for meeting Truck's army.
"Waya is the only that will fight me. Truck is yours to kill." Lee told Zena who smirked mischeviously.
Lee smiled and walked to his hill where he stared over the valley and waited.
----
Waya staggered out of the swamp. Her fur was layered with muck, but...it wasn't like it could be seen. But, on Emily and Dakota for sure it could seen.
The moon had dipped under the mountains of the island. The night was fading...dawn was near.
The cold icey waters of the swamp had numbed Waya to the bone and she was shivering.
"Waya, maybe we should rest till you warm up. You won't be able to fight if you can't even move without shivering." said Emily.
"Emily is right, Waya. You should rest for a bit." agreed Dakota.
"No!" Waya exclaimed. "Truck will be here within two hours, we can't wait." she snapped. She looked toward the crashing waves. She knew just as well that the water will be just as cold. "No, we have no time.." she said and ran toward the beach.
Dakota looked at Emily, and they both ran after Waya.
-----
Truck woke up, dawn was rising and it was time to leave for the Northlands. He walked out of his den and headed toward the den where Waya was being kept. he wanted to say goodbye to her one last time. As he approached...he saw no guards. "No.." he whispered and ran toward the entrance.
He saw the guards knocked out on the ground behind the den. He ran into the entrance. She was gone..Waya was gone. Truck growled and howled out in anger.
His howl woke the pack and they bolted toward their alpha male.
Kannok and Avil squeezed through the crowding pack toward their father. They stood frozen in the spot as they saw their father growling in anger. Truck turned. "Did your mother tell you anything?" he growled lowly.
The pups shook their heads. "No..we swear.." said Avil.
"Stay here, I'll be back.." he growled.
"Let's go!!" Truck howled and followed by Moose and half the pack, Truck lead them out of the den site and toward the Northlands..
-----
Waya, Emily and Dakota reached the hill which plunged onto the Northland Wolves den site. Waya was about to lead her small group down, but she frozen when she heard a loud howl. She turned around and her ember eyes glistened as the sun rose high above the trees ont he other land.
Out of the swamp she could still see...she saw Truck leading half of the LupinPack toward the beach. Waya gulped..she knew she was going to have it with Truck.
"It's Truck.." whispered Waya to Emily. Emily and Dakota both turned their heads and stared as the pack plunged into the ocean water. "We'll wait here.." whispered Waya. "We can't take Lee's pack without Truck.." she whispered.
Emily sighed and nodded. At least they made it this far.
Waya had her ears pinned back as Truck approached, his hackled sticking in the air. "Waya!" he growled as he stopped by her side.
"Truck..don't say a word." she spoke sternly.
Truck had opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
"Truck, it's my destiny..and nothing you can do will stop me." Waya said, not looking up at Truck.
"That doesn't mean I won't try and save you.." he said back to her.
Waya looked up at him and smiled. "Let's fight together." she said and both her and Truck lead the pack downhill and howled loudly a war a cry.
Lee was expecting this and already his pack met Truck's and they engaged in battle. Lee nodded to Zena, who sprinted toward Truck, teeth bared.
