the wolf.
It wasn’t long before he found Marrek who was still asleep and brought him back to Aniu who quickly told him to run over to the Orion Pack-Lands and ask for a truce so that she and the alpha male there could meet.
‘Alpha I could be killed.’ Marrek said sounding worried as he looked up at Aniu.
‘No tell them Aniu Alpha of the Spirit Pack sent you with a message….’
‘Yeah don’t worry they’ll only kill you if they don’t like what you’re saying.’ Raiden laughed not seeing the serious side as both Aniu and Marrek looked at him a frowned. Marrek who was a very obedient wolf nodded as he ran towards the border.
‘Aniu why don’t we fight I know we can defeat them!’ Raiden said walking up beside his sister who shook her head.
‘Fighting isn’t the only way that peace can be achieved, sometimes compromise can save hundreds if done correctly. I will not fight needlessly and lose members of my pack and I’m sure the Alpha of the Orion Pack feels the same.’
‘They attacked us first they have no excuse!” Raiden snapped back at Aniu who frowned.
‘Not everything has to be solved with violence, the Spirit Pack are not fighters.’
‘Maybe it’s time we were.’ Raiden said frowning slightly. When Aniu didn’t say anything Raiden simply walked away leaving Aniu sitting down on her own thinking about her brother and whether he was right was she really dooming her pack by not wanting to fight?
As night came Raiden waited patiently by the river on the border wondering whether or not Sora would come. In the shadows on the other side of the river Sora watched Raiden carefully wondering whether or not to come forward. She had never met anyone quiet like him, she was his enemy but still he pursued her friendship and no one had ever called her beautiful before. Slowly she walked out of the shadows and in to the moonlight and as soon as Raiden saw her he smiled as he stood up and ran across the shallow river to the other side. ‘Hello Sora.’ He said smiling up at her.
‘What do you want blue-eyes?’ She said looking down at him.
‘Follow me!’ Raiden said jumping excitedly in the water splashing some on to Sora’s face making her laugh slightly as she quickly followed him.
‘Where are we going?’ Sora asked as she followed Raiden through the thick forest until she broke through some undergrowth and saw the glowing ocean with the full moon above them. ‘Wow…’ Sora said smiling as she ran on to the beach watching the waves roll upon the golden sand.
‘My mother used to take me here when I was a pup, I never thought I’d see anything as beautiful but I was wrong…’ Raiden said walking up beside Sora and looking deep in her eyes as she blushed under her fur. Looking at Raiden Sora licked the side of his face before quickly running along down the beach, laughing Raiden quickly ran after her and they ran down along the beach in the moonlight.
As the night drew on both wolves stopped and laid down on the sand watching the waves roll ashore.
‘Oh blue eyes you’re such a charmer…’ Sora laughed as Raiden smiled slyly at her. ‘But why do you like me?’ She looked away from him.
‘I’ve never met anyone with such determination. I only wish you could come back with me, my sister Aniu…’
‘Aniu.’ Sora said instantly standing up and looking down at Raiden.
‘Sora what’s wrong?’ Raiden quickly asked standing up.
‘Your sister is Aniu that means your…your what the elders spoke about…’ Raiden gasped as he frowned and turned around.
‘Does this curse have to follow me every where I go?’ Raiden said to himself as Sora watched him. ‘Every since I was a pup wolves have been scared of me, but I’ve never done anything, all I want is to live normally and not have wolves ran away scared.’ Handing his head low Raiden didn’t notice as Sora slowly walked up and stood beside him.
‘I knew you were special…’ She said softly as Raiden looked up at her. ‘My father was scared that the destroyer would kill our pack, thats why we attacked your land he wanted to make sure you weren’t a threat to us…’ Sighing Raiden began to walk away but Sora quickly ran up and stood in front of him, ‘...Although I can now assure him we have nothing to fear.’ Looking up at Sora Raiden smiled.
‘Even though the elders have never been wrong you’ll take that chance and trust me?’ Raiden asked. Smirking to herself Sora walked forward hitting the side of Raidens face with her tail.
‘Of course because I’ve never felt this way about someone before…’ She laughed as she started to run back down along the beach as Raiden watched her with starry eyes as he ran after her. What was this feeling he was feeling? All he knew was that when he was with her the world didn’t seem so bad anymore.
From the bushes Caun watched the two with a frown on his face as he instantly reared around to find Jahar and tell him that Raiden was indeed the traitor.
The next morning when Raiden had made sure Sora had gotten back to her land safely Raiden quickly returned to his den but when he arrived he saw Jahar and a few others all standing their watching him.
‘What do you want?’ Raiden said looking at the wolves whom he hated. Before anyone could say anything a group of wolves leapt on Raiden pinning him on the ground so he couldn’t move. ‘Let me go!’ Raiden yelled as Jahar walked up and stood in front of him.
‘You’re a tartior Raiden and right at this very moment I have ordered all wolves of the Spirit Pack to attack the Orion pack and kill every last wolf they see.’
‘But Aniu said…’
‘Aniu can’t run this pack so whilst she waits on the hilltop for the Alpha male to arrive so they can discuss a truce I have taken charge.’ Raiden’s eyes opened wide but he couldn’t move because all the wolves had him pinned down on the ground. Jahar smiled as he slowly walked away from Raiden who still struggled hard against the wolves who had him pinned down.
Meanwhile on the hilltop Aniu, Jazer and Marrek all stood waiting for the Alpha male of the Orion pack to come forward. Turning to Marrek Aniu asked ‘Are you sure he said that today he would come here and talk to me?’
‘Yes.’ Marrek nodded as the three wolves looked out towards the distance none of them knowing what was going on below them.
‘Don’t worry daughter this is for the best a truce will make sure no more wolves are killed.’ Jazer reassured Aniu who smiled weakly at him as she waited.
Feeling the anger rise inside of him Raiden shut his eyes for a moment and when they opened they were glowing blue and instantly he reared up throwing all the wolves holding him away. Once they had all stood up they looked at him scared. ‘Please Raiden we didn’t mean to…’ One of them said as they slinked away but Raiden wasn’t listening.
‘Tell me where the wolves are attacking the Orion Pack.’ He snarled.
‘Near the border, Jahar has been planning this ever since Caun saw you with that Orion Pack wolf.’ The wolf pleaded as Raiden walked further forward.
‘Tell me what really happened to my mother.’ Raiden yelled so loud the birds in the trees flew away.
‘Jahar had her killed to make sure you didn’t stay in the pack, he was scared that your destiny would come true and you destroy our pack.’ For a moment Raiden softened until he growled as he swiftly turned around and ran towards the border with only one though in his mind.
As he reached the border his eyes slowly came back to normal as the sight of a battle came before him, the Spirit Pack had taken the Orion wolves by surprise. His heart stopped for a moment as he thought about Sora where was she?
Part 7
‘Sora!’ Raiden yelled so loud he felt his throat starting to get sore as he ran over the grass. The sky had turned grey and thunder rumbled behind him as he ran trying to find her. Suddenly he saw her ahead and he ran up to her as fast as his legs could carry him.
Holding back any tears Raiden walked up beside Sora who opened her eyes and looked up at him with her golden brown eyes. Lying down beside her Raiden felt a huge lump in his throat and nothing seemed to come out. ‘Forgive me…please forgive me…’ Raiden managed to say his voice being so shaky he could barely understand himself.
‘Blue eyes you haven’t done anything…’ Sora sighed looking at Raiden as tears began to swell in her eyes.
‘Let me help you the elders they can…’ Raiden said quickly standing up but stopped when he noticed that Sora wasn’t getting up. ‘Please get up…’ Raiden pleaded as a few silver tears slid down his face.
‘I want to tell you something Raiden I should have told you last night…’ Sora sighed as Raiden laid back down beside her. ‘I have always loved you and no matter what anyone says you’re special to me Raiden and you always will be.’ Tears streamed down her face.
‘I love you to Sora…’ Raiden said looking at Sora whose eyes slowly began to close for a moment there was a silence.
‘Sora…Sora…?’ Raiden said tears streaming down his face as he moved closer beside her. Suddenly Raidens eyes opened glowing blue as he stood up the anger in side him swelling up so much it was consuming him. His sharp teeth glowed in the moonlight as he howled a mournful cry to the moon; the Spirit Pack would pay dearly for the death of the only wolf other then his sister who truly cared for him.
Raiden ran through the forest so fast that even though it was pouring rain he felt as though his pelt wasn’t even wet. He knew exactly where he was going and nothing would stop him. Suddenly appearing in a clearing he slowed down where all the elders and most of the Spirit pack had gathered; they all turned towards him. ‘Ah Raiden I was wondering when you would…’ Jahar began as he turned around and stopped noticing that Raidens eyes were glowing blue.
‘You
a lot to show the world, but can't because they're in the
shadows of others.
