Part 1

Raiden’s blue eyes slowly opened as he looked up in to the eyes of his loving mother and father who smiled as they looked down at their son. Smiling Raiden instantly knew that they were his parents who else could those loving faces be? Beside him his small sister Aniu opened her brown eye and both parents looked at each and smiled. The spirit Pack Alphas had had pups who were heir to there throne.

Small puppy Raiden jumped up playfully as his pup sitters legs as the pup sitter frowned and walked away as Raiden played with their tail biting it with his sharp little teeth. He was completely black except for two white spots on the top of his ears his sister was the complete opposite Aniu had pure white fur, brown eyes and black tips at the top of her ears. Aniu was calm and collected whilst her brother was loud and adventurous, he loved to explore and always wished to be older so he could explore the world, but unknown to both of them they had pre-determined destiny’s that the elders had already picked out for them.

From some small bushes Raiden’s dad Jazer walked out and both Raiden and Aniu ran forward to greet their father who smiled down at them.

‘Dad lets go exploring the pup-sitter won’t let me go any where!’ Raiden said jumping around playfully at his fathers legs.

‘Not today son, today Aniu must come with me.’ His father finished as Aniu looked up at her father and walked towards him as Raiden sat back down looking disappointed. Raiden watched as his sister and his father walked away leaving him alone as black clouds began to form in the distance.

As Raiden laid in the small den with his pup-sitter outside the thunder and rain scared him and he cowered at the back of the cave wanting nothing more then his mother to come and comfort him, but unknown to him his parents at that exact moment were predetermining his fate.

‘We can not risk letting this pup live!’ One of the elders barked at the Alphas whilst Aniu slept as her mothers feet oblivious to the storm outside. ‘Tamaya being the daughter of the Great Spirit Pack Alpha before you, you must agree with me?’ The elder turned to Raidens mother Tamaya who sighed as she looked at her mate who looked just as concerned,

‘I will not have my only son killed.’ She said sternly looking at the small gathering of elders who all looked very old and frail.

‘If that pup lives we have foretold he will bring our destruction this can not be prevented in anyway my Alpha.’ An elderly female said looking at Tamaya who frowned slightly.

‘Raiden will not be harmed; if he is you will answer to me.’ Tamaya said standing up and turning around as an elder stepped forward.

‘See, he is already turning us against each other.’ Stopping Tamaya looked back at the elder and at Aniu who was now cuddled up beside her father.

‘What about my daughter Aniu?’ She asked solemnly.

‘She will bring prosperity and peace to our land…ying and yang were never meant to be Tamaya so listen to me please.’

‘I stand by my thoughts; my son will not be harmed.’

‘He will not be harmed if you promise…if we all promise that no one influences him. This means we must avoid contact at all costs if he turns on us he’ll kill us all…’ The elder looks around, ‘…with no one influencing then he will not be influenced to fulfill his destiny, we must make sure that young Aniu fulfils hers but her brother never gets the chance.’

Tamaya growled low as she shook her head and turned around, ‘My son will have the same pup hood and be treated like your future Alpha understand me?’ All the elders nodded as Tamaya marched outside in to the cold rain.

Meanwhile in the small den silver tears slowly slid down Raidens face as he looked up at the den entrance waiting for his mother, but his mother never came and the small pup cried himself to sleep cowering at the back of a cold damp cave with only a teenage pup-sitter who cared not for his wellbeing as she laid down trying to sleep.

Slowly the rain cleared as Tamaya sat on a large rock and looked up in to the sky with a sad face. How could her son bring destruction to her pack? The Spirit Pack was famous for being one of peace and serenity they always cared for each other so then why must he pack turn on this heritage? What was destined for her only son Raiden?

Weeks later whilst Raiden and Aniu were playing outside their den under the watchful eye of their father Jazer a wolf bounded out from the forest and ran up to Jazer and began whispering to him causing the two small pups to turn around and watch them.

‘Why is dad so upset Raiden?’ Aniu asked turning to Raiden who looked at his father who was hanging his head low tears swelling up in his eyes.

‘I don’t know Aniu…’ Raiden said looking at his father whilst inside the small pup had a horrible feeling.

‘Being the dominate male only because my mate was of royal blood means that her bloodline must continue and until young Aniu is old enough to take over Tamaya’s brother Revalis will be the new Alpha…’

Stepping forward a large black and brown wolf looked down at the pack and at Raiden and Aniu who were both equally upset at the death of their mother. Raiden turned to look at the elders who all look pleased and at that moment his eyes flashed but he didn’t get to say anything because someone picked him up and began to carry him away from his sister.

‘Where am I going?’ Raiden asked looking up at the wolf as he waved to his sister who watched her brother leave. When the wolf didn’t answer Raiden continued by saying, ‘When can I go and play with Aniu again?’ Still the wolf didn’t answer as he walked further and further away from his sister and father not knowing that the death of his mother was only the beginning.

Although the Spirit Pack was foretold to be a pack that cared for each of its members this has suddenly changed when a pup born to the Alpha's scares the elders in to believing he will bring their destruction. The spirit has now completely changed and with the suspicious death of the Alpha Female and Raiden being excluded the future does not look bright for the tiny innocent pup.

Part 2
The wind blew harshly in the cold storm that wrecked havoc on the trees and sent small creatures running for cover, but one remained above ground. He was tall, had pitch black fur except for snow white tips on the tops of his ears and blue eyes that shone as lightning streaked across the sky and rain slowly began to fall instantly drenching his coat.

Pearly white teeth shone in the dark as he looked up in to the sky ignoring the rain, ignoring the thunder which sounded like the world was ending and ignoring the lightning that flashed like an evil smirk across the sky. Raiden was no longer the small helpless pup he had once been, he was now just over two years old but his lonely life and exclusion from normal life had taken its toll making him look much older then the young adolescent he was.

His life had been nothing his mother had promised it would be, a life of happiness and joy was taken away from him. He had lived alone as an outcast of the pack looked after only by the few who dared looking after him, each simply feeling sorry for the pup and taking pity on him.

From the darkness a white glow suddenly appeared and walked up beside Raiden it was his sister Aniu and her pure white coat shone like the stars in the sky and her brown eye so drenched in emotion they seemed speak words without her saying a thing. She looked up at her estranged brother and anyone around would have instantly felt a connection between them, they were brother and sister. All Raiden had was her and he would protect her with his life. The two wolves stood side by side and as they did it was clear that both of them were opposites of each other but that only made the bond between them stronger.

Finally looking down at his sister Raiden smiled a true smile that spoke words of trust and friendship that he could not express with words. Throughout the years Aniu had come many many times to visit her brother keep him company during the night, help him through the hard times, Raiden could never express the gratitude he felt to her. Aniu was treated like a princess in the Spirit Pack, she was the one foretold to bring hope, new life and victory to the pack whilst he was cursed to bring destruction and sorrow.

Slowly the two turned around and walked back towards a den where they hurried inside sheltering from the storm that was outside, and as soon as they were in the den Aniu turned to her brother.

‘How are you today Raiden?’ She said softly looking at her brothers eyes that couldn’t hide the hurt and sorrow he’d felt over the years.

‘It’s just another day sister, no more do I feel the sadness, I only hope for happiness.’ He smiled and looked back at her ‘I’ve been listening to the elders to much.’

‘You really shouldn’t spy on them they will find out.’ Aniu smirked.

‘As far as they care I’m nothing so I doubt as much I would make any difference.’ Raiden looked down at the ground before saying bitterly ‘How is my father?’

Aniu looked sad, she had a very strong connection with her father where as Raiden cared not for his well being but still wanted to know the progress of his him. ‘With every day he grows weaker I fear time is flying away from us.’ Seeing the tears in his sisters eyes Raiden sighed and smiled up at her.

‘His death will bring you to the throne Aniu, you should be very proud, I’m sure mother would be.’ Putting his hatred for his father beside him to comfort his sister was

Reminds me of a song I listen to. It's about people who have
a lot to show the world, but can't because they're in the
shadows of others.

- Critiquing because I'm a rebel . . . LOL

I
liked it! It's very well written, but not perfect. I found
it to be an enjoyable read . . . even if you wrote it a year
ago (trust me, I have stories I've started a year ago . . .
that aren't even finished yet!)! Raiden's character is
interesting and yet it's sad that everyone's afraid of him.
So much sadness and heartache, yet he's stuck in his
sister's shadow . . . wah. Nice work - I can't wait to read
the next part for Dusty: The True Story!
