Dark gray clouds hung in the air like thick smoke. A dense fog swirled around the young she-wolf as she was walking. She could taste the salty tang in the air, signaling that the sea was near, just behind the clump of trees to her left. This young wolf had a hard life, this is her story:

Vivyar was coming I could smell his rotten stench from a mile away. "What do you want, crow-food," I declared.

He stopped, suprised that I knew he was following me. "Why, nothing, jay-bird," he replied with icy malice to his voice. At that he really vexed me, because that was the nick-name my uncle gave me.

I whipped around, snarling, that seemed to suprise him even more. I gloated with satisfaction at his cowardice.

That angered him, alot, and he lunged at me. I rolled to the side, just in time. Then he reared back on his hind legs and twisted around, like the trechrous snake he was, and reached for my neck. But I kept pace and matched his moves every step. Untill I found a gap in his fighting, and swivelled my body this way and that untill I was free.

Quick as lightning, a ran, and I was a pretty good runner. "You can't run forever Jay!" Vivyar shouted from behind me, "I will get you, I will have my revenge!" The yell ecoed around the clearing for a few sinister minutes, then there was deathly silence.

I diddn't stop running untill I was far enough away from Vivyar. Then I rested in a hollow cave, near the base of a large oak. Vivyar and I had a horrible past together, ever since I stopped him from destroying my father, the leader of my pack, for his power. At that I exposed him for what he truly is, a cunning rotten bloodthirsty fox. Of course he was exiled, and he never forgot that I was the one who exposed him. And now he is out for revenge, and I wouldn't put it past him that he will stop at nothing untill he succeeds. I shiverd at the thought at what he might do to me, if he caught me. But he won't, and I will outrun him or defeat him, which ever one really.

I thought these thoughts for a while, then I fell into a deep nightmare-ish sleep.

"You can't run forever Jay!" came a demon voice. "I will get you, I will have my revenge!" I woke with a start, shivering at what I had just dreamed. He was right, I couldn't run forever, I had to face that monster once and for all.

The next morning was just as cold as the last, and I was in the same mood as the morning gloom. It was a grim day indeed, today was the day that I was going to face Vivyar in a fight to the finish. Yes of course I was nervous, what with having to fight that demon, why would you ask a silly question like that!

I was tracking Vivyar as far as the sea, and when I came to the clearing that was where the last time we fought, I was literarly shaking. Vivyar never left that clearing the whole time I was away. Yet I had a feeling all along that he'd still be there.  I gulped and stepped forward, out of the saftey of the outer brush.

He smiled wickedly at me and said, "Why hello, Jay, fancy meeting you here." I nearly fainted  at the tone of his voice, so calm yet pure evil.

"I've come to finish this," I said meekly. He just eviliy smiled harder. This is it, I thought, no more running no more hiding, it all came down to this moment. I took a deep breath and prepared for... well anything, I didn't know.

I snarled and lunged at the trecharous black and cream wolf, latching on to his chest, but he easily kicked me off.

"Is that all you got, you dung-heap!" he spat at me. He really provoked me and I charged again, but realized with horror at the last minute, that that was what he wanted. It was too late, by the time I braked he had already shoved me aside, really hard.

I had crashed against a tree, and now was laying on the ground full of hatered, despair and pain.

"Ha, I knew you wern't a good enough fighter," Vivyar gloated. Then his ugly muzzle was right by my ear. "You know what, jay-bird," he cooed icily, "I knew that a girl couldn't even scratch me." As he said that I rememberd all the things I couldn't do just because I was a girl, all my emotion rose up inside of me untill I thought I would burst.

Then with all the conviction off every unfairly treated female wolf, I whispered so softy that Vivyar could just barley hear me,"That's where you're wrong." Then I jumped high, and ignored all my pain, and before Vivyar could even think, I ripped his chest open.

The last sound he made, was a gurgling choke of a cry. and that was the end of that, and the start of something greater than I could ever imagine.
