Yes.

            Niju couldn’t believe it. Aniu was an Angel. Everything was real. God, Satan, Angels, Demons. It was all real. Niju quickly sat down in front of the lightened wolf in astonishment.

            Niju sounded breathless.

Niju: What is it that you want from me?

Aniu: Niju, you ran away from your home, after you said you would never leave your land. You are living in shame at the moment.

Niju: I am.

            Niju continued with a hopeless look on his face.

Niju: I don’t know what to do; I don’t know where to go. I can only hope that I am never found by my own clan again. Especially after what I did… and tried to do.

Aniu: You need to understand something Niju. No mater what happens, there will always be change. You may not want it to some of the time, but it is a natural part of life, just like the fact that the seasons pass every year. No mater how much you don’t want things to change, it will happen. Change is not a bad thing. If nothing in the world has ever changed, no one would ever inherit or learn anything. It is one of the things that make your world so magnificent. 

Niju: (sigh) now I feel that I have only understood that than none of this would have happened. And yet… I feel lifeless… I feel that I can’t go back.

Aniu: You could Niju. You still have a chance. Do you even have the least confidence in yourself?

Niju: Yes. A little bit of it.

Aniu: Than follow your heart, because it is not gone, nor is your life. If you feel like you can do the right thing, even if you don’t have a lot of confidence in yourself, you still have some.

Niju: I do feel that I can set things right.

            Niju started to feel helpful. Confidence began to rise in him. What did he have to loose?

Niju: I understand now. I can fix my life, I can apologize!

Aniu: Than go Niju. Have faith in me, and you will find what you seek.  

            The Light started to dim out. Aniu’s image started to fade, and her voice was getting quieter.

Niju: Wait! Don’t leave me! What if I need help or I have questions… (In a very soft voice) please.

Aniu: I will be with you. I always have and I always will be. You will have assistance but not from I.

            Niju felt a swift of soft wind as Aniu spoke to him. He started to feel happy and joyful again. While feeling this, Niju started to cry tears of happiness.

Aniu: (As his voice faded) good luck Niju. There is still life left in you. Follow your heart.

            Within seconds, Aniu was gone. 

Chapter2

            Nava wasn’t far away from the cave Niju was in anymore. He picked up his scent and was on the other side. Niju was right behind him. Nava took another sniff and then knew he was right behind him. Nava still faced the direction that he was in. He tried to look at Niju in his corner of his eye, and pretended that he didn’t know he was there; he had an Idea about what he was going to do so he left it alone. Niju got closer.

Niju: …Nava

Nava: …Niju.

            Nava turned around to Niju and saw that he had on a sad expression.

Niju: Don’t worry; I don’t want to hurt you.

Nava: I know.

Niju: I want to talk to you.

            Nava slowly walked up to Niju until he was about two feet from him.

Nava: I see that you have accepted the truth.

Niju: Yes Nava. I have accepted it…how I was…but you knew it all along…didn’t you?

Nava: Yes Niju. I’ve watched you grow ever since you were born. I’ve seen this part of you develop. I needed to wait for you to realize that what you fear is not worth fearing… And what do you mean, how you were?

            Niju took a few steps up to Nava to where they were one foot in difference.

Niju: Nava, I want to set things right… I want to say sorry, for everything. What I tried to do to you and not having any confidence in the clan nor myself. 

Nava: Why all of a sudden the change of mind?

Niju: I feel… that it’s something much bigger than that.

            Hearing this made Nava feel very good. It brought him joy to see that he had understood now.

Nava: You have truly changed Niju… I am very proud of you.

Niju: Thank you for everything Nava, for looking out for the clan and even for me through all of these years. But I don’t think that I have set things right until I apologize to everyone that I tried to hurt and have hurt…especially…Balto and his daughter.

Nava: I understand.

Niju: Where is the clan now?

Nava: (Smiling) they are with their new leader.  

            Niju tried to think about it for a while. He tried to remember anything about what happened that while ago. When he had looked in the distance from the beach, he saw a brown wolf leading the clan away. It must have been Balto’s daughter.

Niju: You mean.

Nava: Yes. She is their new clan leader.  They are heading towards the town of Nome. It takes about two days to get there if you stop to rest at night.

Niju: (sigh) what is her name? 

Nava: That, unfortunately, you will have to find out yourself. But don’t think negative; I know you will find what you’re looking for.  

            They both looked at each other with a smile.

Niju: Thank you Nava…good-bye.

            Niju started to run in the opposite direction, but then Nava called his name before he could get more that ten feet away.

Nava: Niju!

Niju: (Turning back around) Yes, Nava.

Nava: I forgot to tell you about Balto. 

            Niju stepped a little closer to listen.

Niju: Yes, what about him?

Nava: He is the son of Aniu.

            Niju was speechless. He would have never had any idea that that Balto was the son of Aniu. He started to think about what had just happened in the cave. And to think of all the disrespect he gave him. He knew know that he would really have to own up for it.

Nava: Now you know… I have all the confidence in the world for you Niju. I know that you can leave your past behind.

            Nava had the softest tone of kindness in his voice. He almost felt a little sad to let him go. No matter how cruel Niju had been through his life, he was still family to him.         Niju felt a little sad himself. Through out all his life this wolf had taken care of him and has always been there is his time of need. He owed him the greatest gratitude.

            Niju slowly walked up to Nava and looked him in the eyes. Niju could see the sadness in his face. So he went up to him, and hugged him like he would a brother.

            Nava was more grateful than ever to have Niju show that much affection for him. At that moment, Nava felt complete. Niju pulled away to look at him one last time.

Nava: Now, go.

            Niju nodded his head in understanding.

Nava: And don’t look back.

Niju: Good bye, Nava. I will never forget you.

Nava: Neither will I. 

            Niju then turned around, and without looking back, started to run off towards Nomewith a soul full of confidence and a heart full of happiness. Nava stood with a smile and watched him run away in the distance.

Nava :( In a quiet voice) good luck, my brother.  

Chapter 3  

            Everyone had already eaten their share of food and chosen their places to sleep for the night. Aleu wasn’t very tired, or very hungry for that mater. She just watched her clan settle down to sleep and then stepped outside the cave to watch the stars. Farris came up behind her to join her for a while.
