Kodak lay helpless on the cold ground, crimson fluid dripping from his shoulder, he never was one to fight, or be good at it. He emited a small whimper before flattening his auds to his cranium. It wasn't long before he was joined by an old friend, H-he's here? Kodak thought to himself with a glance, turning his head. There stood a white brute, a more muscular build than Kodak himself. Closing his eyes, Kodak began to remember his past.

It was a nice calm day as the sun spread it's ray of light apon the grassy fields that lay 'neath it. The sound of yipping, barking, and play growling came form a patch of flowers below. "I'm gonna get you!" laughed one of thepets as the other said,"Nu-uh!" The two rolled around in the flowers, butterflies, grasshoppers, and other bugs flew/jumped out of the furballs' ways. Thepups ran around the pack, smiling and laughing.

One of them, the smallest, was named Kodak. He had a dusty hued pelt, marked with grey and bits of black, his auds held an odd hue of orange, but no one cared. The other pup, Cade, was pure white, his pelt glistend in the sun, and blended with the snow. The two played for hours on end everyday. Always happy and joyful, until one day..

The day seemed dark and dreery even the clouds felt the sympathy. Cade trotted around, looking for Kodak. He heard talking coming from a cave near by, so he listend to the conversation, it went;

"We can't tell the boy.." one voice growled.

"Of course we can, it's best for him.." a female's voice murred.

"No it's not! Why not just tear the boys heart out!" the male snarled.

"Don't snarl at me!" the female barked,"So you're telling me you want the boy to live on without ever knowing why his parents never came back?!" Now she was the one snarling, it was easy to make her mad.

"Augh.. Calm down.." the male whimpered, showing a submisive sign.

"Hmph! You always do that! But we're telling him if you lik it or not!" the fae barked, soon trotting off.

Cade watched her walk off, and decided to follow - being the curious pup he is - though he was color blind like all canines, his paws reconized the area he trotted on. The tip of his tail began to wag, for he was heading for Kodak's den - the only place he hadn't checked - but, his nose tingled with the smell of sorrow as he got closer.

The fae trotted into the cave, speaking softly,"Kodak.. sweetie?" Kodaklay curled up in the back of the cave, sleeping. The fae walked up to him and nuzzled him. Kodak opend his eyeswith a squeaky yawn, lifting his head he looked at her. Flattening her ears the fae said, "Kodak.. I have to tell you about your parents.."

Kodak sat up asking,"Mom and dad?.." the fae bobbed her head in a nod, continuing,"They won't be coming home.." Kodak blinked asking,"A-are they dead?..." The fae's expression grew soft as she said,"Yes dear.. You'll have to stay with me and my mate for a while.." Turning around a walking out of the cave, Kodak followed slowly.

Kodak knew that from this moment on.. Nothing would be the same ever again..
