Until We Meet Again

 

Aleu looked up at the decreasing darkness of the sky. it was almost morning, and the sun began to slowly rise. Sure, life here was great, but she missed her family, especially Balto, so much that sometimes she just couldn't take it and wanted to run home.

"Goodbye Papa. Tell mom...I finally found my home." Aleu thought of her famous last words to her father.

"If I only I could see him and the rest of my family again. Just once if I could. "I miss them dearly."

Even though it was almost morning, Aleu decided to try to get a nap to relax her a bit.

Aleu began to have a dream.

Aniu appeared and began to stare down at Aleu, she looked like she did in the first movie and Aleu was so suprised that she could mot speak.

"Grandmother? I meet you again."Aleu said remembering how she saved Aleu from Kiska trying to drown her.

"Look, I kind of have a problem." Aleu said.

Aniu nodded, waiting to hear what Aleu had to say.

"I miss Balto. I miss my family, if only I could see them one more time..." Aleu said quietly.

"But, there is no way I could reach them. The ice bridge won't be back until the beginning of next winter. And I'm not sure if I could wait that long." Aleu finished.

"Hm. Well, there is something I can do for you. " said Aniu.

"What?!" Aleu said both quetionly and suprised.

"When you see the Northen Lights tonight, think about the ice bridge and how you crossed. You must focus. Then say your wish aloud and the ice bridge will form. But it will not last long, since it is not its time. " said Aniu gravely.

"Wait, you're making this sound like it's a bad thing." said Aleu.

"Well, if you do not get home when the time comes, you'll never be able to get back until the ice bridge forms by itself again." said Aniu.

"How do I know when my time is up? And how much time do I have?" Aleu asked.

"Well, about a week or two. But heres the thing. If you decided not to go after you have asked me to make the bridge, you won't be able to get across until the next winter." said Aniu.

"Oh. Thank you very much though. I will make my wish tonight." Aleu said, then she began to wake up. She could still hear Aniu's voice in her ears.

The day went on normaly as any day would be. Aleu and the pack hunted, moved about the territory that belonged to them, then night came.

Aleu didn't tell the pack that she was going, so she decided to tell them now since the Northern Lights would arrive in a few minutes. She went over and climbed up a rock, from there, she spoke.

"Listen, I know this is like, no warning and all, but I have to go. Not for long, about a week. I have to visit my family just one more time. I will be leaving shortly, and while I am gone, Kiska, you will be pack leader." Aleu told them.

"Thanks, but I doubt it will be a hard job for me." Kiska said sarcasticly.

"When will you leave?" asked Sitka.

"Well.....* Aleu looked up at the sky and heard a voice say: "It is time." Now." said Aleu.

Then she looked up at the sky. She began to think about the ice bridge and how she got across with the clan. She she said: "I wish to see my family again."

The ice bergs and chunks of ice formed a small bridge. Aleu looked back at the clan, and slowly stepped onto the ice. It felt cool beneath her paws. One step at a time she began to cross then broke into a run.

Finally, she reached the other side. She reconized the area very well. Then, she began to run. The familar trees, Nava's pack territory, the waterfall, the cave. "I'm going home." She said to herself as she ran over the familiar path. As she ran, the Northern Lights twisted and moved gracefully above her.

By the next moring, she had reached the small and quiet town of Nome. She didn't really know where to go first. So she decided to head to Balto's ship. she wanted to suprise him. So she looked around, and saw Boris leave the ship with Muk and Luk. She figured she'd saw hi to them later. Finally, she saw Balto, standing on the edge of the shore and gazing out into the sea.

She slwoly crept foward, and thne jumped at him. He turned arouind to face his attacker, but then his expression changed to happiness when he saw Aleu.

"Aleu." He said quietly, then he nuzzled her.

"Papa, I missed you so much." Aleu said.

"But, why are you here?" Balto asked.

"I'll explain later. Do you know where mom is? "Aleu asked.

"Yup. And I have someone else who would probably like to meet you too." Balto said.

"Balto lead Aleu to Jenna's house. He scratched at the door and was greeted by Rosie.

"Hello Balto! Jens in the boiler room if you want to see her." Rosie said this because everytime Balto vistied it was usually to see Jenna.

Balto and Aleu walked towards the boiler room. Before Balto opened the door, he noticed that Aleu was very excited.

"Are you ready?" Balto asked.

"Yes." Aleu replied.

Balto pushed open the door to the boiler room and stepped inside. He and Aleu agreed that she should suprise their family.

"Hello Balto." She said warmly.

Balto looked around the room. He saw Kodi, Dusty, Saba, Dingo, Boris and Muk and Luk. Pretty much the whole family. This is perfect, he thought.

"So Jen, have any suprises in a while?" Balto said.

"No..." Jenna said, puzzled.

"Well I got a special delivery, and its one that cannot be shipped by mail, so Kodi, forget about it." Balto said.

"Well, what is it?" Kodi asked.

"Come in." Balto said. He moved to the side, and in walked Aleu.

"Aleu!" Jenna burst into tears of joy and ran to meet her daughter.

Everyone greeted her, but Kodi looked confused.

"On, Kodi this is your sister, Aleu." Balto said.

Aleu and Kodi walked up to each other. Then Aleu spoke. "Kodi, do you remember me?"

Kodi didn't reply.

"How about now?" Aleu said then she howled.

"Now, I definatley remember you." Kodi said, laughing. ]

Then Aleu saw Dusty. She and Aleu stood face to face. "Wow, we look alike." Duaty said.

So Aleu meet and her family we finally reunited. But would it last?

Day 1

Aleu woke up peacefully in Balto's ship. " Counting today I have seven days." She thought to herself.

Aleu stood up and walked around Nome. It seemed as if she had never left. But then, she saw him.

He was a tall, muscular husky. His fur was white and he had markings on tail, almost like stripes and he also had a blaze on his shoulders. The markings were like curved lines almost, but they went over his shoulder and stopped shortly and as for his tail, they curved under it neatly. He also had piercing green eyes and a strongly curved tail. "He sure is handsome." She thought to herself.

She wanted to say hi, but feeling as if he would mistake her for a wolf and turn away, she said nothing. But she had to walk by him, because he was in her way and she was heading to see Kodi come back from the mail run as he does every morning.

He saw her coming and spoke.

"Hi, I'm Sean." he said. "Are you new here? I don't think I have ever seen you before."

"Hello, I'm Aleu. Actually I left Nome about...2 years ago, I've returned to visit my father." Aleu said.

"Why did you leave?" Sean asked.

"Um, that's kind of personal, sorry." Aleu said.

"Oh, no I'm sorry. It's not my business." replied Sean quickly.

"So...why's a pretty girl like yourself alone now?" asked Sean.

" I'm on my way to explore the town." aleu said blushing.

" Then I'll join you." Sean said, and he walked with Aleu around the town.

"Finally things are going my way..." Aleu thought to herself.

But will they stay that way?
