Kiska's Journey

(Part II to Kiska's Past)

Kiska could not believe her eyes. It seemed as if her life had ended when she saw that horrible site. (Ok, I'll tell you what t is now, haha.) After falling down the waterfall with her family and friends Silver and Koyu, along with their parents, she was the only one who seemed to be awake. But when she turned around to look, what she saw devastated her. She saw her mother and father on some rocks, with scratches and wounds. She didn't know what to do, and she was scared, so she started to walk towards them. But then she stepped on something. She looked down in the water to see Silver's body floating and Kiska realized that she had stepped on her tail.

"Silver!" Kiska screamed, then she nudged Silver.

No sound came. Kiska ran to her parents. They were dead, along with Koyu's mother and father. As were Silver's parents. Kiska was so upset. Tears in her eyes, she let out a long, mournful howl. Then she heard something moving in the water. It was Silver!

"Silver! I thought you drowned, how did you survive?!?!" Kiska said talking very fast.

"Well, I guess I did because when we were all falling, mommy let go and let me drop safely down away from the rocks, but the impact of the water knocked me out. I would not be alive if she did not do that." Silver said sadly. "But what about you?"

"Well, daddy dropped me by accident when we fell, then, I slpashed in the water and fell asleep I guess." said Kiska.

"But what do we do now?" said Silver.

"I don't know. We're alone now, and we'll have to find somewhere to sleep, it's still raining." said Kiska.

"But...I don't want to leave them..." Silver said sadly then glanced at their parents.

"I know, but if we stay, it'll get us nowhere." Kiska said with tears welled up in her eyes.

Tears streaming down their face, the two pups walked away to find a place to start a new life. Sadly, what had been a fun day for them turned into a nightmare. And the worst part was, you couldn't wake up.

Years later, Kiska and Silver have begun to live life by themselves. They depend on no one but themselves and each other. And they have a hole in their hearts from when tragedy struck them as pups. They are both two years old now.

"Okay, we are definatley lost." said Silver as her silver white fur blew in the wind.

"No...this place is familiar some how." said Kiska.

"Remind me of why you ran off again?" said Silver.

"Well, I thought I heard something, but it was coming from this area, so I just ran." said Kiska.

"Okay...because you know, when I hear any noise, even a dangerous one, I always run to it because I have to know what it is." Silver teased.

"Oh shut up." Kiska said playfully. But still...what was so familiar about this place. Then it hit her. The sound of running water, the familiar whispers through the trees, a path once walked. Could it be? Kiska thought this as she walked. Then she knew what she had to do, she ran yet again towards the noises and this time found herself in a place that she now reconzied and knew very well. In the distance, Silver yelled at her.

"I was being sarcastic! When I find you I'm going to---." Silver said as she walked throught the bushes. When she too saw what Kiska's eyes knew she stopped talking.

There, right in front of them, was the waterfall. They slowly walked towards the water and stepped into it. The warm water moved and formed rings growing larger and larger when Kiska and Silver slipped into the water.

"After all this time..." said Silver.

"I remember it like it happened yesterday." said Kiska.

"Death still hangs in the air. I wonder if anyone else was killed after we lost our parents and Koyu." said Silver queitly.

"Can we go? This place is starting to give me the creeps." added Silver.

"Yeah, it's getting late too, so we should probably get going."

"Ohhh but it's too late for that don't you see?" said a voice.

Kiska and Silver gasped.

"Show yourself, coward!" Kiska growled.

"Fine, but reme,ber, you asked for it!" growled the voice and out of the bushes came a large male wolf charging towards Kiska and Silver. He was jet black with a lighting bolt through his eye. His tail also had a white tip at the end and he had piercing blue eyes. "Sure hes handsome." Kiska thought, "but dangerous too."

First, he lunged at Silver, but she was too quick for him. She jumped above his head and landed right behind him. He whipped around to face her but Silver was caught off guard so he jumped at her and knocked her to the ground. Standing on top of her, he he spat "Now, you will die!" He raised his head to get ready to bite her, but he was attacked from behind by Kiska. She jumped on his back and decided to bite down on the back of his neck. He howled in pain and send her flying off with a swipe of his paw. Kiska went flying nd then she hit a tree and was knocked out cold. Then he went back to Silver. "Where were we, oh yes, now I remember!" he said then he lunged and Silver and caught her like Niju did to Aleu at the end of wolf quest. But Silver was smarter than that. Using her back legs, she pushed him off and he landed on the ground.

Kiska lifted her head to see him land. Then she ran up to him and pinned him on the ground. But he grabbed her fur on the bottom of her neck and flipped her off him. Then he rose to his feet only to be attacked by Silver.

She jumped on top of him and they rolled into the water. But then, she realized something familiar to this. Then she had a flashback.

"I'm going to get you!" said another puppy.

*slpashes.*

"No, cause I got you!" said Silver as a puppy and jumped up onto the other puppy and rolled down a hill, laughing.

The large male was on top of Silver standing over her.

"Now that i have you, I am going to kill you! Any last words?" he said fiercly.

Familiar face. Same wild nature...

"Koyu!" Silver gasped.

"Now I will---what?" he said.

"Koyu, you're Koyu." said Silver.

Koyu got off her and faced her. "Silver, Kiska? Oh my god! How did you survive?!?!" he gasped.

"Actually, we should ask you that, after we fell in the water, you were gone. " said Kiska slowly.

"Well you see, I---" Koyu began, but he was stopped by a flash of lightning above his head. "We should find shelter, then I will tell you what happened."

Koyu, Silver, and Kiska went off to find a cave to spend the night. When they found one, they stopped and sat down inside.

"Koyu, you look so different, what happened to your fur?" said Silver.

"Well, thats part of the story, but basically, my fur changed as I got older, not all of it though." Koyu said and then put his paw over his lighting mark.

"Start your story then, Koyu." said Kiska.

"Ok, now we all know we were on the beaver dam. Well, when your father came and got us and the riverbank collasped, I wa thrown into the water and carrid in the opposite direction. For some reason, the currents shifted and you and everyone else was sent in the other direction. But not me. I was carried away through rocks and branches and other things. Then I hit my head on a rock and the next thing I knew, I was slowly waking up on a pile of soft grass and looking into the eyes of a adult female wolf. She was old, but very wise. Her name was Singing Waters and she had grey fur from her old age. But she took care of me and raised me well. But I didn't stay with her very long, she taught me how to survive on my own, and as you just saw, it has helped me live without her. But one day we were walking as we usually do every morning to the river to drink water and we stumbled upon a bear. he was very big and strong. He tried to attack me, but Singing Waters jumped and bit on his arm but he shook her off. He came towards her and I was still a puppy, so i just bit down hard on his stump of a tail, which made him very angry. He turned around and smacked me off, thus, giving me my lighting like shaped scar over my eye. Then he put one paw on me and pushed me down and lifted his head to bite me. Seeing this, Singing Waters jumped on his back and bit the back of his neck. He turned and while trying to shake her off, he fell into the river with her and then they were dragged down the waterfall like you two were. I ran down, but only to find Singing Waters was crushed under the bear who eventually got up and limped away. Singing Waters never got up, and then I realized that she was dead. So I spent my time living alone and managed to survive, and i usually come down to the falls once a day to visit her death place and as you found out earlier today, I found you." Koyu said, pausing for breath everyonce in a while.

"Koyu, I'm so sorry." Kiska said.

"You had to go through death twice as a pup." said Silver.

"But, this conversation is making us filled with sorrow, let us tlk about all the good times we had as pups." said Koyu, eager to change the topic.

"Okay, I'll start, remember when all three of us first met?" began Silver.

"Wow, how could I ever forget that?" said Koyu laughing.

"I'll tell the short tale then. I guess we met cause we lived in the same pack, and we all found out that there was time to play when the adults left to hunt and the babysitter got fed up with all the pups and had to take a break. I was running around, chasing a butterfly when I ran into Silver, who was chasing the same butterfly and then Koyu was also engaged in this strange activity. Then we talked and realized that the butterfly flew away and we started to get really mad and pretend rocks or leaves were the bug and we attacked the objects. Eventually, we played and talked and beacame best friends ever ince." said Kiska.

The three wolves shared many other stories about childhood memories and stupid things that they did. (Example, when talking about how dumb they were, Koyu brought up the part when it was raining and they ran around in circles screaming until they crashed into each other.) Finally, they did fall asleep and dreamed about
