Introduction

When I was young, at the age of 7, in Thailand, Phuket. I had an obsession about Arctic Wolfs, Grey Wolfs, Siberian husky, and Alaskan malamute. Somehow, my head began to go like a cyclotron at the cafeteria! With so much interest towards wolfs, I ran straight to the library-in my old school, to do my research on these beautiful-four leg creatures! For 3 weeks, I studied the family of wolfs, from books to documents with Internet research.

In my personal investigation, I’ve found something rather strange and completely amazing!

Wolfs are friendly and shy…they didn’t mean to harm humans. They will only attack you, if you are holding a weapon or a tool. But, if you tried to frighten them, they will try to scare you back! The only way to be friends with them…is patient and time. Instead, you got to hold your position: let them come to you, not you going towards them! Nevertheless, moving to their territory without permission, it could cause the pack to growl at you with their tail curled to their chest, or frighten you with their fangs as a warning: “Stay Back!” They will only accept you; if you learned their rules…it’s similar to laws in our world.

After 3 years, at the age of 10, I had a vast knowledge about wolfs and their habits of hunting, breeding, and their language communication towards other packs in the family. Nevertheless, I stumble across an old novel about a hero in Nome, Alaska. The book was written in “Estrange Fonts.”

The story was written-using ink-pen. However, the pages are pretty dirty and old!

At night, I tried my best to read the book: there are total of 980 pages to read. Some of the words are smudgy; I’ve found it very addictive to read. Despite the condition of the novel, I have found something rather spectacular: Balto – The Legendary Hero in the hearth of Alaska! He was a half-breed wolf dog from Nome.

According to knowledge:  Nome, Alaska is 1000 kilometre away from Nenana. It’s a vast distance!

In March 19th, 2000…I’ve completed my ancient book. The pages are massive! Somehow, Balto died from an early age; he was sick…He was a legend to everyone’s hearth.

During his previous year, the “Serum” (Anti-Toxin) was successfully retrieved; thanks to Balto…he saved the kids from death. It was a long endurance…

In 2003, I had a blurry dream. It happened when I was sleeping! The image was pure and relatively cute; I was playing in the snow with Aleu…she’s the daughter of Balto! As this dream went on, I was thinking of him. Somehow, I decide to write a book about the Balto’s families and myself, and Aleu.

At some case, I didn’t know where to start! Instead, I decide to scrap the entire story from the original movie: Balto, Balto 2: Wolf Quest, and Balto 3: The wings of change. I’ve to do this because, I don’t want to copy their story line and plots! Nevertheless, I have to make a slight change to the 2nd movie.

“I reverse it.”

Aleu is an adopted puppy!!

Heart of Alaska: A life for a soul.

Chapter 1: A new life

In the 70’s, after midnight, I was brought to a very beautiful house by a family from Russia. At darkness, I was very sleepy; we had to settle ourselves at Nome, to start a fresh – life and to make money. That is all I know when I stepped my paws to the carpet to blacked – out for a snooze!

When I was sleeping, I had a vision….I had a bad dream! My parent’s where brought to war, just to support the troops, to deliver messages from the HQ (Head – Quarter) to the front – line. At that day…I cried….I couldn’t see them again. But, only in my vision, my parent’s will always be in my heart!! It’s a dreadful – night for me to be in such agony.

I couldn’t……help you mum and dad. I was young and defenceless!

On the second day, I woke up with a big yawn. Later, I had my breakfast with the family……I was eager to crunch my food so that I could explore the outside world; the famous town called Nome, where sledging are often used by people within the town for competition or for fun and exercise! After that, my owner let me out, to let me socialize with the other Alaskan malamute.

“You can go and explore the town Micro-Ice. But, please don’t get into trouble alright?” said the owner.

In return, I barked at him happily and ran – off with regards. Just as I step outside, from all directions, I saw other husky and other dogs walking at different directions. Some even say “hi” and “Welcome to Nome!” I was very happy and proud to see this with my own eyes!!

From many places to look and sniff, I walked to a place where there are shows for talented dogs. For no reason, I bump into someone without noticing, I was looking where I shouldn’t be looking.
Well….I fell back and looked – up consciously and speechless!

It’s Mr Balto! The famous half husky, who had retrieved the Serum to safe to children of Nome!

“Are you alright little – one? Are you lost??” asked Balto.

In a bewilder silence, I replied back shyly; No Sir…….

With a twitch on his ears, he told me: “So, you’re new at this town aren’t you???”

Yes Sir……Mr Balto.

When the sunsets vanish, I was guided around the town by Mr. Balto. He told me the places where is safe to play and where not to enter. After that, he brought me to the wrecked boat. As I looked around the deck, I couldn’t believe the size!

It’s BIG!!

In minutes, I saw Miss. Jenna, waiting patiently at a distance gaze, looking at me weirdly.
She even came to Balto and asks: “He’s new! But, he looks very cute….where did you saw him???”

When I’ve fully checked the deck, I went to Miss Jenna and say hello.
I even introduce myself to her. She smiled back and introduces herself alongside Balto.

“I’m Jenna, who lived next – door to your house. I have a girl called Rosy…she’s a very young girl. Ohhh…my husband is Balto.”

With a 3hrs talk, I didn’t realize the time for home! My owner must have been worried…

In a low voice, Mr. Balto decides to bring me home. He knew that it’s late…..But, when I saw the things which the couple did, I have to look at another direction, just to give them privacy and distraction free.

When the sun began to darken, he supports me back to my home.

“Just in – time for dinner!” said the owner.

But, when my owner saw Balto standing next to me, he decided to invite him in for dinner too. As Mr. Balto heard his voice, he walked forward and gently licks my owner’s hand, as if it was an agreement.

Nevertheless, my owner was happy that I’ve met the famous hero in town.
He was delighted to see the legendary mutt!

When dark approaches, we had our dinner (together) at a cozy fireplace, for warmth and to release stress. Without hesitation or warning, my owner called Balto over, he then shows him the collar with the tags. The collar had a beautiful – black coating, with a soft touch to comfort the dog’s neck. With a glimpse, I notice something…

Mr. Balto is going to be with my family!!
…He’s getting adopted!!

Chapter 2: The big Surprise…

At damp-darkness, the owner let me loose with Mr. Balto. In an exempt, my owner’s son said: “Be careful at night. But, stay close together!”

In glimpse darkness, he shouted out once more, before I left the area for the boat.

“When I need you, I’ll call you!!”

As we went to the wrecked boat, Mr. Balto chuckle in a humble voice: “You’re so hyper and flimsy Micro - Ice!”

As I over-heard Mr. Balto comments, I flinched and laugh flawlessly to myself. He then added “You’re a stubborn 3 – yrs old mutt!”

When we arrived, it was late and everyone was dead – asleep. On the dingy wooden floor, I’ve heard the others snoozing and humming like an angel. I thought wisely for a wile, and told Mr Balto: I would rather stay hear next to the door. I don’t want to disrupt the others from their sleep. With a bright tingle in his Yellow eyes (Balto), he told me to wait at the post, where wooden box are piled together like a campsite.

A minute later, he brought me a blanket and a small pillow. With a yawning smile, he then told me: “I’ll sleep with you Micro – Ice.” So, at total darkness, I snuggle beside him and gently say good night….

*Blacked Out……*

During the misty – night, the wind blows like heaven. I love the warmness from Mr. Balto’s fur; it was great and vibrant at night. At my right direction from the door, I saw Miss. Jenna leading her son. I don’t even know what they’re doing or going to…all I heard was: “Koda…follow me. This is where the toilet…see that door…alright???”

As the young pup (2yrs old) reply: “Yes mother, I’ll go hear if I need the toilet.”

Jenna then nod for head in reply, with a happy smile as an approval – as if her teaching had thought him well!

When the sun rise to its maximum potential (brightness), I got – up early with twitchy ears and sleepy eyes. As the sun strike its powerful rays over my furry coat, I yawned lazily, thinking what to do this morning. Nevertheless, my stomach needs food. Despite the hunger, I doodle around the boat, trying to find anything unusual and bizarre.

12 minutes passed, I heard Mr. Balto voices: “Micro – Ice! Where are you?!”

As quick as could, I ran back with my body sprinting like a sprinter!
When I arrived to my basic destination, my body was panting – viciously for air, as I stop statically in – front of him.

In a happy morning, Mr. Balto asks: “Where have you been around the boat? I’m just a little curious.”

As I looked at him, I told him about the wrecked boat, and the objects which are left around on the upper – deck. Nevertheless, the surrounding looks completely….plain!
There is no artwork either! When I spoke to him about these queries and thoughts, I was really stunned by his impression. All he told me was: “let’s go to the town and see our owner about breakfast! But, did you see Kodi last

That's not a problem. I don't rate the fanfics I read for
solely their punctuation and grammar/spelling.
Anyway, it's very well written, considering your 1st
language is not english (mine's obviously not, either), and
improving takes time. My advice to you is; Keep writing.
Even though it's bad, keep writing. You'll get better and
better for each fanfic you write (by the way; faved)

Thanks for the comment Wolflux. Although, I'm very sorry for
the grammar and punctuation!

I'm from
Vietnam, that is why I have this problem. English is
actually not my 1st language.
I'm very sorry....

I've tried to fix the empty space. But, I
can't!!
I wrote my story from microsoft word.

again....sorry for this issue.

Hmm, I don't quite know what to say, but what you've done so
far is good. However, you have a very annoying setup on your
fanfic, and too much empty space. There are not many
descriptions, but fact-wise, it's very good.
You could
work on your grammar a bit, and you have certain points in
punctuation, and spelling, which you need to improve a bit.
Overall a good story, with some minor flaws, and a good
storyline.
I'll give it a 6/10 rating.
