Lightning and hit him in the face as hard as he could.

Lightning stumbled back.

"Apology accepted." Blaize said.

Lightning stared at him.

Blaize walked over and fell in the corner.

Lightning stood up.

There was a concerned look on his face.

"Aleu, what happened to you?"

"Oh," Aleu said, "I thought I got all that off."

She raised her paw, and wiped the blood off of her face. There was a good sized wound over her left eye.

"Some of the guys out there decided they wanted to have some fun, so I played with them."

Lightning smiled.

"I saw two of them limping."

"Yeah," Aleu said, "I'd a killed them if it had been just those two, but four well they got the best of me."

She walked over to Blaize, and Lightning noticed that she herself had a bad on her front left leg. She wasn't putting hardly any weight on it at all.

"Aleu are you okay?"

Aleu looked back at him.

"Lightning, there was four of them , what do you think."

She winced and laid back down.

Lightning sighed.

"Aleu, I'm... I'm going to get you out of here, I just have to find a way."

Aleu nodded.

Lightning looked at her, at the condition she was in. He'd forgotten how tough she was; he hadn't even noticed how bad she'd been hurt before she started walking away.

"She never was one to complain about the state of things, or her own pain, she always took it extremely well."

"Aleu, I'm... I'm sor."

Aleu cut him off.

"Lightning don't... if you're sorry, prove it."

She looked up at him.

There were tears in her eyes.

"Get me out of here."

Lightning nodded and then he stepped back, and exited the room.

Neither he, nor Aleu noticed the black wolf that slipped into the shadows.

Jenna stumbled up onto the porch of the old mill.

She'd started feeling worse since Balto left.

She scratched on the door, and waited for it to open.

It did, and Drake stared out at her.

"Hey Jenna," then he stopped.

"Jenna? What happened to you!?"

"Someone, actually I think there were six of them, anyway, they jumped Blaize and I on the outskirts."

"Where is Blaize?" Drake asked.

I.. I don't know," Jenna said.

"Drake, who was at the door? Gemini said, as she walked up behind him.

"Jenna?" She turned her head.

"Kids, go upstairs, and stay there until I come and get you!"

She turned back to Jenna.

"Well come in," she said, "lay down take it easy, what happened to you?"

Jenna kind of stumbled through the door.

"Are you okay?" Gemini said.

Jenna laid down on the old couch cushion on the floor.

"I will be." She said.

"She was jumped by a bunch of dogs," Drake said.

Jenna looked up at him.

"I think they were wolves. They were all black."

"Wolves?" Drake and Gemini said.

Jenna nodded.

"Well where's Blaize?" Gemini asked.

Jenna sat her head on the floor.

"I... I don't know."

Drake walked over to her.

"Well get up Jenna."

Jenna looked up at him.

"Why?"

Gemini walked up behind him.

"Yeah, Drake, let the poor girl rest a little."

"No, Drake said, "we're going to Doc's, now get up."

Jenna smiled at him.

"Drake I'm fine.."

Drake interrupted her.

"You are not, you're hurt, come on."

Jenna tried to laugh, but stopped, as she found out that hurt too much.

"but.."

"No buts," Drake said, "come on Jenna, stand up."

Jenna sighed

"Okay."

Then the two of them walked out the door.

.

Jamie was waiting on Meko.

"He said to meet him here today," Jamie thought, "I wonder what's keeping him?"

She walked over to the door of the shed, and looked out at the crowded streets of Nome.

"He was supposed to be here an hour ago." Jamie thought.

She didn't know what to think of the Malamute.

She kind of liked him, but she didn't really know him.

"He did probably save my life though," she thought, "if he hadn't come around when he did... maybe I should give him a chance."

She decided to reserve her judgment for a later date, when she had more facts.

She heard someone approaching then.

"That must be him." She thought.

Jamie walked over to the door, and sure enough, Meko was running down the sidewalk.

"He looks kind of worried." Jamie thought.

He stopped in front of her.

"Sorry I'm late Jamie, but there's been a change in plans."

"Why?" Jamie asked.

"I was talking to Drake," Meko said, "and I was just getting ready to come here, when Drake heard a scratching at his door. I stood back, and you'll never guess who stumbled into the old mill."

"Who?" Jamie asked.

"Jenna," said Meko, "she was beat up pretty badly."

"Beat up?" Jamie asked, "by who?"

"She said they were wolves," he replied, "yeah that's what she said, black wolves."

"Wolves?" Jamie asked.

"That's what she said," Meko responded.

"Well where was all of this," Jamie asked.

"I guess it was out in the projects." said Meko, "oh and Blaize is missing, she said he might even have been killed."

Jamie looked at the ground.

"Oh no, not Blaize."

She looked back up at Meko.

"When was this?"

"About an hour ago," Meko responded.

"I'm gonna go see her," Jamie said.

She turned and ran off, towards the old mill, Meko followed.

Jamie quickly reached the old mill, and walked up on the porch.

She scratched on the door.

"Oh, come in," Gemini said, as she nudged the door open, "how're you doing Jamie?"

"Good Gemini," Jamie responded.

"Well, why don't you guys come in for a sec."

"Okay," Jamie said as she stepped through, Meko followed.

Gemini shut the door behind them.

"Actually," Jamie said, "we were hoping..."

"Hook, get down off of the stairs right now! Gemini yelled, "what have dad and I told you about playing on the stairway?"

"Aww," the little pup whined.

"Don't ahh me," Gemini said, "do you want to fall of there and break you're neck?"

"No." the little pup said, as he climbed the stairs.

"Sorry," Gemini said, "the pups get in so much trouble these days."

"I guess they're reaching that age," Gemini said,

"yeah I guess so," Gemini said.

"Now what was it you wanted to tell me?"

"We were actually hoping to see..."

Jamie was interrupted by a scream, and a crashing sound.

"Delilah?" Gemini said.

She took off up the stairs.

Jamie and Meko followed, though at a much slower pace.

"Mom! Help!" the shrill voice came again, "ahhhh!"

Now, two other voices could be heard, they were laughing.

"It's not funny! Ahhhh!" The little voice shouted again.

Gemini made it to the room that had been the library, but now, it was where the dogs of Nome congregated.

Jamie and Meko rounded the corner just in time to hear Gemini yell.

"What are you doing?! Oh goodness, hang on Delilah, mommy's going to save you!"

"Shut it off!" Gemini yelled at the two other pups.

"We don't know how," the pups said, one of them fell on the floor he was laughing so hard.

Jamie and Meko made it up then, and stopped

The source of the shrill screams became readily apparent as they peered into the room.

One of the small pups was swinging around the room!

Her back foot was tied to an old lead that her brother's had found, and hooked to the new ceiling fan that the owner's of the old mill had installed not too long ago.

Now the little pup was swinging around the room, the lead had apparently gotten more tangled than her brothers had thought, and now they couldn't get her down.

"Ahhhhh!" the pup yelled.

"Delilah hang on!" Gemini said, "turn it off, now!"

The pups just rolled on the ground, laughing.

Suddenly the lead snapped, and the pup flew off of the fan into the wall.

"Delilah!" Gemini yelled, "Delilah are you alright?"

The little pup jumped at her brothers.

"I'm gonna kill you!"

She hit Hook, and the two of them rolled out the door.

"Now kids!" Gemini yelled after them, "remember that violence never solves anything!"

She ran out the door, to see the two feuding pups roll off of the staircase, rolling down it, and slamming into the wall at the bottom.

"Oww!" Hook said.

"You're going to think ow!" Delilah yelled as she jumped at him again.

Gemini made it down the stairs then, just as Delilah got her brother down, and started pulling on his ear with her teeth.

"Oww!" Hook yelled, "Mom get this crazy girl off a me! She's hurting me! Oww!"

"Delilah, let your bother up, and stop biting him.

"Okay mom," Delilah said, as she let her brother go.

""Be careful buddy," she said, "next time you may not be lucky enough to have mom around."

"Delilah, Hook, Jason!" Gemini yelled.

The two pups walked over to her, the third, Jason, peered down at her from the top of the staircase.

Gemini stamped her paw, and Jason made his way slowly

This fic is simply GOD-LIKE. I love it how in all of your stories so far it turns out to be a happy ending, cuz I'm not a fan of sorrowful stories.(Though you gotta chill out on "pretending" to kill off characters the reader is attached to, you really got me going there literally 10 times!XD)10/5 stars, loved it *adds to FAVS....again*

Can I just say? A Magnum 375. is a very powerful gun and one
of the most dangerous in the world. You'd have to hold it
with two hands to take aim and the hunter sounded like he
was holding it with just one. Sorry for being critical but
this fan-fic is my favourite out of all of this and
Talkeet's Trilogy. What did happen to Talkeet anyhow?
