" This story is pretty different from others. My story, really. My story, and love, family, and loss. It's different from others, but I don't see why others should pity me. After all, my existence in this world is over. I just wish I could've told them goodbye..."
The new found day had started. But, no one had noticed. Why? You may ask? No one in that area was able to see that young sunlight that told them to wake up, that they had survived the night, either asleep or awake, it didn't matter. Those warm sun rays never reached the town, because of a fog.
However, one dog didn't stop that from walking down the streets. Blindly it seemed, for he always had to be careful, trying to sense if something was in front of him. Luckily he hadn't found anything that he could bump into. This dog, was pretty much black and white. Including his eyes. They seemed blacker than night, and had a trickle of evil that somehow he had hidden.
Another dog was walking down that street. She was also black, pure black. No white, nore other color. Her eyes, however, were a icy and cold blue. Strangely, they had a warm feeling that would make anyone fall for her. She also wore, a red bandanna that stood out from her fur. It seemed so strange for her to wear it, for it gave a bit of a different impression, but she treasured like a family heirloom.
Strangly enough, that same morning both had a strange feeling as they got closer. Like, they weren't alone. Soon enough, they had bumped into each other, stepping back in confusion before they realized what had happened.
" Sorry. I-I didn't see you." The female had started, shaking her head.
" Don't worry, it's hard to see in this fog." He had answered, realizing he spoke with a female. It was true, this dog was stuck up and flirty, but he knew how to control himself.
" Who are you?" The female asked, narrowing her eyes as she tried to see something.
" King." He answered proudly.
" My name is Autumn." She answered, and then kept on walking, for now she could see better, since the fog cleared up a bit.
" Hey Autumn, where do you live?" He asked.
" The old housed next to the boiler room." She said, turning her head back to see him, and then walking off. King could only stare at her, thinking. She seemed to be a beautiful creature, and maybe well hidden. That, or she recently moved. Maybe he could show her around...
That night rain could only pour down, cold and hard. Everyone had steered clear of it, heading home or the closest building they could find. Dog ran to their owners, cats to theirs, and all the strays searched for boxes or something else. It seemed the streets had cleared, except for two living creatures.
A white siberian husky ran as fast as he could, looking for cover. His ivory pelt was soaking wet, and he couldn't do much to help it. He panted, his warm orange eyes searching for cover. Enough was enough for him, and the cold had already gotten to him, but luckily a medium sized house was near. It had a roofed porch, and he found that enough. The husky ran to it, and sat down, trembling as he watched how the ground was bombarded by the rain drops.
A red siberian husky also ran through the cemented concrete that made the sidewalks. She was soaked, water dripping from her muzzle and tail. She hoped to find shelter, but hadn't been succesful those last ten minutes. The weather had been changing so much lately, and it was about the second or third time she had that misfortune of finding it. That night was hard to see, and the rain also stung her eyes, but an oil lamp nearby was luckily lit up, hanging on the porch of a house nearby. Another husky sat close to the lamp, staring at the rain that she was caught in.
Without thinking twice she ran to it, hoping that her orange leather collar wasn't as wet as herself. She soon sat under that roof, warmed by the lamp that hung over them like a sun. She didn't want to be rude, so smiled at the husky once she finished shaking her pelt away from him. He returned the smile, and looked once more at the rain. The red husky couldn't help but stare at him, gazing at how cute he looked dripping wet. She couldn't help but blush. He, on the other hand, still stared at the rain, not noticing her, but an image of her remained in his head, at least, from what he saw from the corner of the eye.
But the silence that was held between the two was unbearable, even with the rain, so he decided to start a little chat.
" So uh... nice weather we've been having lately." Ok, not the brightest start, but he couldn't think of anything other subject.
The red husky giggled, as quietly as she could, but felt her stomach churn as he talked.
" It's been so gloomy lately. When do you think it'll clear up?" She answered.
" I don't know. Maybe tommorow, maybe in four days." He said, looking back at her. He kept an empty face, but seeing her clearly now, he found her mighty interesting.
The red husky sighed. " I don't really like autumn, for this reason."
" Why not? So many colorful leaves, and it's like having summer and winter together." He said, in his opinion.
" Exactly. All those sudden changes can annoy, and the wind messes up your fur, not to mention those colorful leaves pile up, and you never know if a bug is hiding in them!" She said.
" Females. No one understands them." He thought. " So... what's your name?" He asked, eager to change the subject.
" Dawn. What's yours?"
" Alaska." He said sheepishly.
" So, Alaska, why did they name you like that?" She asked.
" I don't know. Maybe because of my coat, maybe because Nome if part of Alaska." He shrugged. " And what about you?"
" Well, it was morning when my siblings and me were born, and I have a very different coat." She smiled.
A snowflake fell from the clouds, being pushed by the wind. It glided through trees and soon landed on a wooden floor. Ding Dong, was a bell like sound. It echoed through the streets as a women opened the door. In front of her standed children, their eyes gleaming with excitment and happiness. They had presents in their little hands and by them was one or both parents. All of them entered the decorated house as a red-headed girl came down the stairs with party hats. She laughed and smiled and squealed in excitment as she saw her friends. They took off their coats and put all the presents on a table. Soon, they joined their friend and went into the backyard.
Hide and seek, was a game they enjoyed to play. The girl gave each kid a hat, and she wore a little crown. All the parents sat down around tables and talked as their kids happily played around. One dog came out the porch, she was red, had an orange leather collar, and of course, had a curly tail. She had a cream colored stripe from her forehead that went down to her tummy. The husky looked as her little owner that was the birthday girl ran around her friends. She walked over to her other owners who were the girl's parents and received a scratch from behind the ears. The husky layed down and watched.
Everyone happily let the time fly. The kids gathered around a table with the birthday girl in the middle. The party was just about over. The girl saw a big yummy cake with frosting that covered it. She closed her eyes and then blew the candles.
" Rosy, time to open your presents." An older man called, waiting for the young girl.
She smiled as she ran over. There were a lot of them. finally, Rosy choose as she grabbed a yellow one with orange. She opened it and thanked someone as the little girl reached for the next one. The party was about to end as one present was left. It was different from the others. It had holes and was pretty big. Rosy opened it as her mom read the label. It was from them. She looked in amasement as she pulled out a puppy from the box. It looked just like the other husky, except that it had a cream face and also a stripe that led to her tail. Her legs were cream also. The pup licked The girl's face and ran away yipping. Rosy chased after her, happy that her wish came true.
Everyone left having a great time. The puppy would always follow either Rosy or the other dog, maybe because of so many people. Rosy knew this pup before. She was the husky's daughter. The other pups had already been sold. Jenna, was the pup's name. Two weeks past ever since Rosy's birthday. She had always wanted a dog to call her own. The other husky, who's name was Dawn, was her parent's dog. She used to be a show dog, but families always get in the way. One day, Rosy's parents decided to go camping. It was something the girl loved to do.
They packed up and hitched a sled. The dogs would come too. Rosy's father started the sled dogs when everyone was ready. When they were in the forest they got to a place near the lake. Late at night, howls sounded in the distance and woke up Rosy. She always had this interest in wolves, and liked to call them "doggies". She put on her boots and got out of the tent. Jenna heard snow crunching in the darkness. She got up and investigated. The puppy walked through the darkness until a familiar scent reached her nose. It was Rosy.
She whimpered tiredly as Rosy looked around.
" Shhh, Jenna. You'll wake mommy and daddy. How about we investigate that howl?" Was all the girl whispered to her dog.
Jenna yipped quietly in response. She was still too young to know what a wolf was. Jenna and Rosy walked into some bushes, deeper into the woods.
The next morning, Dawn woke up and looked to her side. Jenna wasn't there. She got up and sniffed her scent. It lead over near the tent and joined Rosy's scent. Then it headed towards some bushes. She looked around, but none of them was there. Dawn worried and barked at her owners as loud as she could. It wasn't long before they were awaked and realized what happened. They looked around and
