Aleu walked up to Dusty's youngest puppy and nugged her to her paws. Soot blinked up at her with big blue eyes.
"Don't look at me like that," Aleu scolded the pup. "You need to exursice."
"Nuh-uh!" Soot squeaked. "Not me!"
"Yes hu!" retorted Aleu.
"Gentle, sister," Dusty reminded her. Dusty and Aleu always acted as if they were sisters.
"Coem on, sweeti," Aleu told the pup, sweetly. "Play with Timber and Buck." Buck was brown with a black underbelly and Timber, his twin, was completely brown. Their sister, Soot, was black. They had another brother named Raven. He was black as well but he was gone. Dusty thought htat he was with Kodi.
"Okay, Aunt Aleu," sighed Soot, runnig to her brothers. "I play with smelly boys."
"Good job," Dusty told Aleu.
"I'm never having pups," Aleu grumbled.
"How will Spirit take it?" Dusty asked, slyly. Aleu averted Dusty's gaze.
"i d-don't know," she replied, finally. Spirit was Aleu's headstrong mate. This time, however, she had recieved a mate thanks to love. But he was deadfixed on having pupies.
"You better figure it out," Dusty grinned.
"Shut it," Aleu hissed, angrily. "I- don't want to hear it."
"Aleu?" called Spirit from outside.
"See ya." ALeu heaved a sigh and headed out to meet her mate.
"Hey, Aleu." Spirit nuzzled her. "I hurried over as fast as I could."
"Why?" Aleu asked.
"Haven't you heard?" asked Spirit.
"Heard what?" asked Aleu.
"About Raven," Spirit replied. Aleu's breathe caught in her throat. "Let's go to Dusty."
"Right." Aleu wondered what had happened. Kodi ran to them, tears in his eyes.
"Dusty has to know," he chocked.
They walked to Dusty's and Spirit said, "Kodi went to find Raven, because Raven went outside to play alone, but another dog found him first. We found his limp body by an alley and a voice hissed, 'Revenge Kodi, just the way you asked for it.' That's it."
"Oh no!" Dusty wailed. "Listen, the town hates Kodi and I because when Kodi asked me to be his mate so did a gray purebred husky named Smog! I chose Kodi and SMog ran away yelling, 'I'll get my revenge, Kodi! It will be jus the way you asked for it!' I was too scared to tell you."
"I'll find him." Without waiting for a response, Aleu took off. She went to the alley where Raven was found and began to smell.
"Looking for me?" chuckled a voice. Then she was out cold.
Dusty looked at her sleeping mate. Soot had gone missing, she must have followed Aleu.
Dusty was terrified for her friend and pup. She snuck out of the doggy door. Weak or not, Dusty would find them.
Dusty crept to an alley and saw Aleu's limp body hanging over a rock. Then she saw Smog.
"Hey, Dust," he said.
"Let me take Aleu back," Dusty growled.
"Um... if you don't ditch the hybrid and come to me, they both die," Smog told her. she saw Soot's tiny body besides Aleu's. Dusty knew what to do.
"Well, you know you diedn't have to threaten them," Dusty said."It just angered me faster." Dusty kicked him intot eh alley wall.
Dusty lunged at him and soon towered over him.
"Dusty, I'll kill your friends and family!" he snarled.
"Not if I kill you first," Dusty growled. Without waiting for a response, she bit his neck.
Dusty ran to Aleu and saw her licking Soot's limp body.
"Dusty," ALeu whispered. "She's gone."
Months passed. At first, Dusty had been in a depression. But then she got better.
She and Aleu remainded best friends, actually this whole thing strengthened the friendship
the end!
