Chapter 1- The Wish

  It was a warm day, the sun was just past the horizon. Water was dripping on the porch where Kodi lay, when he waoke up, Balto was walking down the lane and up to him.

"Hey Dad, good morning."

"Hey Kodi, did you know about the shooting star today?"

"What Star?"

"Didn't you know your mother tell you about the shooting star that's coming?"

"No...no one told me about anything like that, I doubt they knew anyways...What's so special about it?"

"Don't you know local myths? A shooting star can grant you a wish... like your job back..."

"Oh...yeah."

Kodi was just recently 'taken out' of his old job and replaced with another dog...He's been very depressed ever since.

Night fell, all the people looked out into their windows for the shooting star that passed every 100 years, and of course the dogs were there too.

As it passed Dusty came to talk to Kodi.

"I never knew there was a shooting star today, why didn't you tell me?"

"I never knew until now."

Balto knew Kodi was lying to Dusty, he knew that his son knew about the star ever since this morning. Kodi completely forgot to tell about it! 

"Okay everybody make your wishes, you can only get another chance like this 100 years from now," Balto said.

"So Kodi, what do you wish for?"

"I wish for just one more journey just at least once"
