and Silver Moon.

Alpha: " Did I miss something?"

Miksa: " Dad, about the mate thing."

 The alpha finally understood.

Alpha: " Where do you two plan to live?"

Silver Moon: " We're not sure, yet."

Alpha: " You'll find it soon. Son, this is a big responsibility, I hope you understand that."

Miksa: " I do dad."

Alpha: " Very well. Does your mother know this?"

Miksa: " No. not yet."

Alpha: " You be sure to tell her. There'll be a meeting at the cave, I want you two to be there."

Silver Moon: " We'll be there, sir."

Miksa nuzzled her.

Miksa: " Sure dad."

Alpha: " Good luck."

Diane: " *laughs* You two look so cute together!"

Silver Moon: " Ummm, thanks?"

Miksa: " It's hunting time. Come on, let's go."

 Silver nuzzled him. Then she passed by him, her tail brushing his chin. She trotted off.

Miksa: " I think I made a good decision."

Diane: " I think you did."

 She walks passed him to hunt. Miksa follows. Later, all the wolves are at the main chamber. Silver Moon sitting next to Miksa.

Alpha: " I'm sure all of you enjoyed the moose we knocked down. Now, we have good news. Miksa has finally choosen a mate."

 All the females start to whisper.

Alpha: " Silver Moon, is now the alpha's mate."

 Silver smiled and looked at Miksa, who had his jaws wide opened. Alpha? His father never told him that when choosing a mate he became the alpha. It must've been his time, after all, his father was starting to slow down. But, not enough. Miksa walked toward his father, Silver following as all the females envied her. It must've been because of her white coat. Silver wasn't bothered because of this. This was love, not beauty.

Miksa: " I hope to do a good job, although this was unexpected. I'll do my best to help my pack."

Silver Moon: " You now have a new leader, respect him as you yourselves would like to be treated."

 She knew that she also would have responsibility. Especially if they'd have pups.

 

 

 

                       

                               "Chapter six, A Dream."

 

Balto: " So you have a mate?"

Silver Moon: " Yes, that was about, five months ago."

Jenna: " Miksa sounds nice, I'd like to meet him. Have you had pups yet?"

Silver Moon: " No, not yet. We'd like to but, it still isn't the right time. The ex-alpha still lives, and so does his mate."

Oceana: " What about before the accident? Can you tell us what happened?"

Silver Moon: " *laughs* You guys just want to listen to stories the whole day, do you? That, I can't. I don't remember anything before it happened. Not even the packs name."

Stella: " That's to bad."

Boris: " What happened to Storm and this Flame."

Silver Moon: " I don't know. I heard some rumors about them being siblings though, they have the same coat."

Tod: " Is there anything else you can tell us?"

Silver Moon: " I already told you everything. *sigh* It's starting to get late, do any of you have food I can eat?"

Balto: " I have some sausages, you can have them."

 Silver was about to say thanks when her stomach said it for her.

Danny: " Whoa! Do it again! Do it again!"

Stella: " Danny! You should know better!"

Silver Moon: " Kids will be kids, I guess."

  Later that night, Silver is dreaming. She's in a beautiful meadow. It could be paradise. Her mom appears in front of her, smiling.

Island: " Hello, my little Silver Moon."

Silver Moon: " Hi mom. This is a dream, right?"

Island: " Yes."

Silver Moon: " Aww. I knew it was too good to be true."

Island: " I was listening to your story. I've seen it also. How you've grown."

Silver Moon: " I didn't really want to, but I didn't want to be rude."

Island: " You know, this dream. I wanted to tell you what happened before the...      thing."

Silver Moon: " Uhh,"

Island: " Look, sweety. This dream, what I tell isn't something your head is making up."

Silver Moon: " I believe you."

Island: " Very well. Come over here."

  She walked over to a crystal glistening lake and sat down. Silver did the same.

Island: " Look into the lake. What do you see?"

Silver Moon: " I see, water, and a reflection of a white wolf with a black nose and black on the tip of her...        ears. Just like Aniu's description!"

Island: " Now, this lake shows a reflection of stories. But it doesn't exist. I won't tell you the storie. You will see it and hear it yourself."

 

  Aniu layed down half smiling and sad. A newborn puppy was nursing. Next to it was another one, not moving. A brown husky walked in, followed by a silver wolf and a brown and white wolf.

Husky: " My son. He's as beautiful as his mother."

Aniu: " You could've had a daughter, she didn't survive."

Husky: " *sigh* It's a shame, but we still have a survivor. What'll we name him?"

Aniu: " I was thinking of a name, Balto."

Husky: " It's perfect!"

 

Silver Moon: " Balto? It can't be. Can it?"

Island: " It is. You knew Balto before the accident. He was your first friend. Aniu was my friend too. The brown and white wolf you see is your father. His name was Stripes. Now listen to what is happening."

 

Island: " Balto, it's a nice name. Stripes and I want to tell you something."

Aniu: " What is it, Island?"

Stripes: " We're going to have puppies of our own."

Husky: " That's great! Balto will have some friends to play with!"

Stripes: " It was a good moment to anounce it."

Aniu: " He'll be so happy. He's going to have a great start."

Island: " We hope so too."

 Two months later, Stripes is pacing outside his den. His puppies are coming! Balto is playing around will Aniu sitts waiting. Finally, Stripes is aloud to come inside and see his new family. There, Island is resting a bit while a white cub with a pink nose is nursing.

Stripes: " Only one?"

Island: " Yes, but it was tiring to get her out. Still, it was worth it. And on a beautiful night."

 They nuzzle each other. Silver finishes nursing and goes to sleep. Balto and Aniu come in.

Balto: " That's the pup, mama?"

Aniu: " Yes, Balto. Island, Stripes, she's beautiful."

Island: " She's white, like you. How about we name her Aniu?"

Balto: " No, how about Silver Moon? Like the moon outside."

Stripes: " Yes, our little Silver Moon."

Island: " Balto, say hello to Silver Moon."

Balto: " Hello Silver Moon."

Aniu: " Two new members in two months. How time flies!"

Balto: " Papa is flying right now, isn't he mama?"

Aniu: " Yes, he is."

Island: " Let's not think about sad times."

Aniu: " It's true."

 Silver Moon has finally opened her eyes, she inherited her mother's blue saphire eyes. She can't yet talk or walk but barks a lot.

Island: " Silver, I have to go to visit a friend and it's too far to take you, your father will be back so I'll leave you here for a little while."

 Silver just barks and whimpers.

Island: " Silver, I can't take you with me. I have to go, be good."

 She leaves the cave. Silver doesn't want to be alone so she tries and gets up, then starts to follow. Her mom not knowing she's behind. Island walks a long way but Silver doesn't say anything and keeps following. Then Island passes deep snow that covers more than half her legs. Silver just follows even if she just learned to walk. When Island gets at a cave she hears a familiar bark behind her, she looks back and sees Silver Moon standing there as if she wanted to play!

Island: " Oh, what are you doing here? Are you standing? Oh my gosh, Silver Moon!"

 She comes over and nuzzles her pup.

Island: " Well, now that you're here I might as well take care of you."

 They both go further the cave. That night Island tells Stripes what happened. Stripes looks at Silver Moon that's lying down playing with a cricket.

Stripes: " Really?"

Island: " Yes! One moment I left her at the cave and the next she's right behind me!"

Stripes: " Silver Moon! Come over to your dad!"

 She looks at him in a playful way and tilts her head.

Stripes: " Hmm, maybe she's not in the mood."

He talks with Island and hears a playful growl behind him. Stripes looks back and sees Silver there wagging her tail. Then she runs around and starts biting his hind left leg.

Stripes: " You weren't kidding!"

Island: " I know! Isn't it adorable?"

Silver Moon bites him once more and darts into the cave.

Stripes: " No arguing there."

 They walk into the cave. Days pass and Silver can finally play with Balto. One day she's into the snow, Balto walks by and Silver pounces on him.

Balto: " AHHH!!!"

  Silver runs into her cave while Balto runs after her, he catches up but doesn't reach her.

Silver Moon: " Mommy!"

 Balto stops and looks in awe at Silver.

Silver Moon: " Mommy! Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy!"

Balto: " Mom!"

 He runs out of the cave. Island comes in and sees Silver.

Island: " Hello, Silver."

Silver Moon: " Mommy, he-llo?"

 Island widens her eyes. Silver Moon just said her first words! Aniu comes in with Balto.

Balto: " She said mommy, Silver Moon just said mommy!"

 Aniu sees Island standing still and looks at Silver Moon, who is confused with why they're making such a big deal about it.

Stripes: " Did I miss anything? I saw all of you gather around and wondered what...Island?"

Island: " She just said mommy."

Silver Moon: " (looks at her dad) Daddy!"

 Stripes takes a step back, her daughter again suprised them both. Silver looked at them all wagging her tail.

Balto: " Silver Moon! You said mommy, and daddy!"

Aniu: " Little Silver."

Silver Moon: " Mommy?"

 Island walks towards her pup.

Island: " Is there anything else you want to say?"
