It's been two months since Balto's adventure with Kodi and Duke. Stella has decided to stay with Boris and now they are taking care of eggs. It's snowing and Balto is at Nome's entrance. Boris goes to talk to him.

Boris: " Hello Balto."

Balto: " Hi Boris. *sniff*"

Boris: " I need help."

Balto: " With what? *sniff sniff*"

Boris: " Never been father before."

Balto: " *sniff sniff sniff* You raised me, didn't you?"

Boris: " There's difference. What are you looking for?

Balto: " I got a smell, *sniff* don't know what it is. *sniff sniff*"

Boris: " Is it fresh?"

Balto: " Yes. It kinda smells like... *sniff*  wolf."

Boris: " Chase away. Don't want wolf near gooslings."

Balto gives him "a look".

Boris: " (smiles) You're half wolf remember?"

Stella: " Boris! It's your turn to warm the eggs!"

Balto: " Looks like you're busy. *sniff sniff*"

Boris: " *sigh* Yes, good bye Balto!"

Balto : " Bye Boris. (Boris leaves) *sniff* Huh? Maybe Boris was right about the scent."

He sees something in the snow.

Balto: " Who are you?"

The wolf lifts its head and runs.

 Jenna is in Rosy's house and looks out the window. She sees Balto in the distance. He's standing still, then runs out of view.

Jenna: " Hm. I wonder what's wrong?"

 Balto is running trying to catch up with the wolf. It stops and hides in the bushes before Balto sees it.

Wolf: " *pants* Well, that's the longest I've run *pants* without stopping."

Balto: " I don't think that *pant* was some walk either. *pant*"

Wolf: " My, fast and funny. I suppose I can trust you enough to come out."

 It gets out of the bushes. She's white with blue eyes.

Balto: " Aniu?"

Wolf: " Nice try. *sigh* Every wolf that I meet for the first time thinks I'm Aniu. My name is Silver Moon."

Balto: " Balto. What were you doing in Nome?"

Silver Moon: " I heard some "domesticated" wolves that call themselves dogs lived with humans. So I went to check it out."

Balto: " Oh. So, how long were we running? Half an hour?"

Silver Moon: " Felt more like an hour or two."

Balto: " Ow. No wonder my feet hurt."

Silver Moon: " *giggles* You're not the only one. Hey, where are we?"

Balto: " I don't know the place."

Sliver sniffs a tree.

Silver Moon: " Oh no, this is an enemy's territory."

They hear a howl.

Silver Moon: " And they've spotted us!"

Balto: " (sarasticly) Great."

Silver Moon: " If that pack finds us, who knows what they'll do!"

Balto: " I'm guessing we should run."

Silver Moon: " You guessed right!"

 But no longer they gave five steps than two wolves appeared in front of them. One was a tan wolf and the other a black and white with brown stripes wolf.

Tan wolf: " Looks like we have tresspassers."

Silver Moon: " Listen. Go away and we'll leave quietly."

Striped Wolf: " I don't think so, we never let anyone come in our territory and get away with it."

Tan wolf: " Besides, we got two new chew toys and we wanna have some fun."

Balto: " Sorry, but we're not available."

 The tan wolf growls and the fight starts. Nearby, a big black rain cloud starts to let out thunder. The tan wolf jumps at Balto and biting and barking and growling and snarling are every where. Then, the two wolves roll on each other until they crash into a tree. Balto once having a shiny coat, now has blood on his ear, on the tail and near the tummy. Sure the tan wolf left a few marks, but Balto scored points too.

 With the tan wolf on top of him, it looks like the end for Balto until Silver Moon knocks down the tan wolf. Balto gets up and looks at Silver Moon. Her silky fur is now stained with red. Around the ear, on the hind leg, some rolling down the back and some marks on her chest. Then, the striped wolf grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her  down. He started to bite her injured leg. Silver yelped and then bit and pulled his ear trying to make the pain stop.

 Balto had his own occupations, he and the tan wolf were circling. Then both jumped at each other, Balto knocking down the tan wolf. Then, he bit the wolf's tail. It cried to Balto to let him go. Silver Moon lied down and then gathered enough strength to stand on her front legs and bite the wolf's muzzle. He cried and ran away. Balto let the other wolf go and it joined the other. It started to rain. A lot.

Balto: " Are you okay?"

Silver Moon: " I wish I could say yes but, my leg hurts pretty badly."

 She gets up and lifts her hind leg.

Silver Moon: " We should get going, They're gonna bring help."

Balto: " Yeah, I should be getting to Nome, Jenna must be worried."

Silver Moon: " Who's Jenna?"

Balto: " She's a husky, and my mate."

Silver Moon: " Oh. I'll go with you, my pack's to far away anyway."

Balto: " The doc can fix up your leg to."

Silver Moon: " Then what are we waiting for? Nome, here we come!"

 Jenna is on the couch looking at the fire place. Kodi comes in.

Kodi: " Hi mom."

Jenna: " *sigh* Hello, Kodi."

Kodi: " Is something wrong?"

Jenna: " It's your father. He hasn't been back in a while."

Kodi: " Mom, I'm sure he's fine. Maybe he went to do something."

Jenna: " You're probably right. (thinking) I hope."

 It's been half an hour since Balto and Silver Moon left the clan's territory. The snow is a bit dirty because of the canine's wounds. Suddenly, Balto falls down, unconcious.

Silver Moon: " Balto? Balto! Wake up! Can't you do this when we're in a cave?"

 She looks at Balto. He's breathing, but doesn't move.

Silver Moon: " Apparently not. *sigh* Great, it's raining, I'm wet and bleeding."

 She collapses, exhausted. Hind legs first. Then, slowly, she closes her eyes.

   There's a white wolf pup. It's running through a meadow on a sunny day, chasing a butterfly. it runs into a silver wolf, but it doesn't seem to notice. She starts biting the wolf's leg, playfully. The wolf turns around and grabs the puppy gently by the neck. It then starts bathing the wolf. After this, a white wolf with brown spots appears. The wolf nuzzles the silver wolf and licks the puppy. Soon, the white pup starts to run around the spotted wolf. After, a bear appears, and the pack goes to defend itself. The bear kills most of the wolves, including the spotted wolf. Then, the pack dissapears and day turns night. The silver wolf is running with the puppy in it's mouth. It leaves the puppy in the snow and runs away. Some figures pass by the pup. They don't see it. Soon the white pup hears a bang and it starts crying for it's mommy.

 Silver wakes up and gets up quickly immediatly asking "mom?". She remembers the pain in her leg and falls down. The white wolf shakes of the snow. She didn't know when it started snowing. Silver starts crying and soon it turns into a howl. She howls while a snowflake lands near her eye, melts, and rolls down looking like a tear. Then, her own tears join them. She hears a howl that isn't hers and stops. There, in front of her, is Aniu.

Aniu: " Don't cry, little one. I know your story. I too lost my beloved one."

Aniu looks at Balto.

Aniu: " There's a cave nearby. You can stay there."

 Aniu disapears and there is a silver wolf sitting.

Silver wolf: " It's been so long since I last saw you. Look how much you've grown."

Silver Moon: " *smiles* I was so young when you left me."

Silver wolf: " I never knew this was going to happen."

Silver Moon: " I was lonley. I lost my life. (she starts crying) Sometimes, I don't think it's worth living."

 The wolf nuzzles her, it starts to howl. Silver moon joins it. Together, it sounds more like a song. The silver wolf stops and leaves.

Silver Moon: " Wait! Don't go! Come back, please!"

She gets up and limps to where the wolf left. It isn't there anymore. Not a pawprint.

Silver Moon: " (thinking) Maybe it's better if I go to that cave Aniu mentioned."

Silver limps back and picks up Balto on her back. She falls under the heavy weight.

Silver Moon: " (thinking) I should use my injured leg."

She gets back on her feet and puts some weight onto her leg. When it touched the ground she yelped, and wimpering, Silver went to find the cave.

 Balto wakes up and looks around to see a cave. He gets up, almost falling down because he's dizzy. He walks to the entrance of the cave and hears a splash. He checks it out and sees Silver Moon near a creek. She locks onto a fish and raises her paw, before she can swing it though, she falls into the creek, scaring the fish. Balto laughs.

Silver Moon: " Sure, laugh all you want. You try to fish on three paws."

Balto: " Sorry, I can't help it."

Silver Moon: " How 'bout helping me get breakfast?"

Balto: " Okay."

 Balto walks over to the creek and concentrates on a fish, he gets it out with his paw. Silver limps over to get the fish. Balto then sees another fish and waits for the moment. He then dives his head into the water and grabs the fish with his teeth. In the process getting himself all wet.

Silver Moon: " *laughs* Now that's a pretty view."

 Both eat their fish and head onto Nome. At a cliff in the forest, Balto sees the village and starts to howl. Silver Moon, out of pure enjoyment, howls too.

 Jenna is at the boat, hoping that Balto returns. She lifts her ears and hears something.

Jenna: " That's Balto's howl."

Kodi: " Mom! I think it's dad!"

Jenna: " Kodi, I know it's your father."

Both get out of the boat and wait for him at the entrance of Nome. Balto and Silver Moon are racing towards Nome, Balto winning because of Silver's leg. Finally they are out of the woods and Balto with Jenna.

Jenna: " Balto where have you been? Look at you!"

Balto: " I found someone near here and when I talked to her, she ran away so I chased her."

Kodi: " Who are you?"

Silver Moon: " I'm that someone Balto saw."

Kodi: " Oh."

Silver Moon: " *laughs* I'm Silver Moon."

Balto: " Silver, this is Jenna and my son Kodi."

Jenna: " Hello!"

Kodi: " Nice to meet you!"

 Silver Moon falls down exhausted
