Balto stared at the sky as Boris flew away with some other geese. Balto wished that his family hadn't moved. Alue had chosen to live with wolves, Jenna moved, and Kodi retired and moved to the mountains. Boris also moved to live with geese for the winter. Boris chose to live with the geese until next winter. Balto decided to travel through snow to find Alue. He couldn't affored to lose any more family members.

 Daisy a young wolf who was living with Balto, chose to travel with him on his journey.

"I won't let you get hurt!" a very protective Daisy said.

Balto was getting very excited to go on his journey. All he wanted to do was see his far away daughter.

"Balto can I come with you?" asked Daisy.

Balto was thinking about what to say. Would his words hurt Daisy?

Balto took a deep breath and started to speak. "Daisy you can't come with me." Balto said. "I want to see my family and not yours."

"But I never asked you to see my family." Daisy said.

Balto didn't reply. Instead he turned his back and left leaving Daisy behind.

The travel wasn't good. Balto had nothing to eat for two days.

Balto stopped to think. I feel even more lonely than before. He thought. Why did I leave Daisy behind?

Suddenly he heard a howl. It was Daisy.
