she?
“Uh-uh.”
Huh? What the h—
“Well, I guess there’s no big deal about that. As long as you didn’t get hurt.” He gently placed his large paw on her forehead, messing up her head tuft with a smile on his face. “Come on, Aleu; let’s all race back to your mother’s, and we’ll all have dinner together, okay?”
I let out a very low growl as I heard the giggles of my older sister’s response. She leaped up happily to touch his nose and try to scratch it with one of her front paws. Father soon leaned down towards her and rubbed his own nose to hers in a lovingly manner. I stuck my tongue out with disgust as she took the kiss and quickly dodged away, yipping as she ran back toward Mother and the rest of us.
As we traveled the five minute trek back to Mother’s house, many questions wandered through my head . . . many of them about my sister and how Father treated her.
Why didn’t she rat me out . . . especially after what I did to her in the woods? Why did she lie about the real reason I came into the woods after her?
Why does Father let her get away with what we both did?
“Ow-ow-ow . . . that hurt!”
Oh yeah, and he gave me a nice teething to the flank for disobeying him. Of course, he did nothing to Aleu . . . because she’s so special and all.
I let out a deep sigh once we finally got home. I gave my sister an evil look, but I don’t think she thought anything of it. I couldn’t believe she just got away with breaking the rules! I didn’t understand a thing at all . . . especially the fact that she didn’t tell Father what I really did to her out there. I breathed a sigh of relief about that, but it’s not like I planned on thanking Aleu for doing that anyway. I wasn’t going to stoop that low for her!
But still, that was how things were for her: she breaks the rules and gets away with it, while the others involved get punished in her place. Apparently, she was on both Mother and Father’s good side with things . . . okay, it was mainly Father’s. Sure, Aleu was much similar to Father than the rest of us were – not just by looks, but by smell as well – but she was his favorite.
Daddy’s little girl . . . ugh. Damn the concept of stupid favoritism!
I hated her . . . not just because she was the favorite of our litter, but because Aleu was so . . . I don’t know . . . oblivious. Her naïve nature was something that everyone else in our family seemed to love . . . except for me, of course. God, was I the only dog on earth that noticed this? I mean, naturally I was a fast runner and a very cautious pup that seemed to notice things that others couldn’t – that was me in a nutshell. She was too wild, too much like something else to be like the rest of us . . . but why couldn’t she see that?
Was she that blind? Seriously?
Thus, my rivalry began . . . I swore that one day I would seek my revenge on the sister that everyone loved . . . yet smelt like a total threat to my life. I was going to make her see how different she was . . . even if it killed her.
I truly hated my older sister . . . but I never expected our rivalry to go to this . . .

Telling the truth, I have a humongous rivalry like that one with my young sisters. Me being the Kiona, and they are practically twins of Alue!DX So, yeah, what I'm saying is, I like it! |

I love this one! I can partially identify with this one on Kiona's side. Since she is my favorite fan character, after all. Well done on this, too bad there's not a sequel. Either way, good job! *paws up* |

Strawberry Splash: Glad you liked it! It was a two day romp for me, so good luck if you ever see another one like that again! Ha ha! Brown Wolf: No, there is no sequel. Cat wrote a fic that could be considered a sequel/continuation to this one (it's on Fanfictionnow.com under Balto), but it's much more violent than mine. I had planned for this to explain the real reason why Kiona/Una couldn't stand Aleu, so I guess I got it right! Thanks! Chickawaii*canine: I don't even have siblings, but I've observed them before, so I just tried to write how one would feel in that situation. Ah, the work of a writer . . . Thanks for reading! |

Whoah! This was awesome J17 :D Fantastically written! You are a natural when it comes to vivid descriptions! Yay Kiona xD I can really feel her pain in this. I can't relate at all, but I know it's awful having a sibling who's more loved than you, once again, no I don't relate. I really, really loved this fic. Keep up the great work ^^ ^__^ |
the best part, is where you wrote about Kiona/Una wanting to
kill Aleu. My version of the red faced pup is in fact close
with Kodi, Dingo, Aleu and the other un named puppy. I was
really disappointed to find there wasn't a sequel in your
gallery. Goooooood jooooooob!!!
