he been told by his love, ‘to leave her.’ He turned around and took one step after another it was hard and agonizing for each step to take. He felt a tug on his tail, he slowly turned around to see what was pulling on his tail, and it made him again look at Vain. He tore up his heart. He had to look down at what was tugging on his tail. It was Cember he choked tears at the sight; he was awake.

Cember had tears in his eyes he started pulling his tail towards him and his mother, “Mommy I don’t want daddy to leave.” He started pulling again towards Vain his mother. “Mommy daddy said he’d change he will, I know he will.”
He whimpered repeatedly, “Daddy don’t go, please don’t! Mommy still loves you, she just saying that! Stay!” The pup sobbed pulling away towards his mother, whimpering.

For a moment the only movement was Cember’s whimpering and the staring of Vain and Kiltin at each other, it was for what seemed forever to them. Kiltin looked down at his son, it was most likely the last time he would see him, he now regretted not being there so many times for him, and calling him abomination every time.

He got his tail free, then turned around to face his son and looked down at Cember, he bent down to get more eye level. “Daddy isn’t going away forever, just for a little while ok?” he smiled as tears fell from his eyes as he said his lied to him. Cember made a long whimper; He licked his son’s cheek, and his tears.

He took a breath; I’m so sorry Cember…so sorry. “I promise I will come back just you see,” He almost broke into tears all over again, “I’ll back don’t worry, I’ll be here for you…just you see.” He could barely say the last words knowing each word he was saying was a lie.

Cember whimpered and cried, looking down at the ground, he knew he was lying to him, Kiltin noticed, “Promise me you’ll come back please?” Cember begged to his father.
He smiled, “Good bye Cember I love you.” He quickly jolted away from him running the other way. He quickly tried to follow, “DADDY! You haven’t promised! You haven’t!” He tripped hurting his paw as he fell and hit the ground, he started to cry knowing his father wouldn’t come back, and he whimpered repeatedly “Daddy” The small pup took a breath, “Come back…” The pup sobbed.

Vain was in her own sobbing, “I’m sorry Kiltin so sorry…Cember.” She somehow managed to get herself up to walk up to her injured pup. Cember was crying and sobbing. “It ok, it’s ok.” The pup put him self in her chest. The pup cried, “Why does daddy have to leave? Why does he have to go?” he didn’t really understand it.

His mother barely could answer him, “Because he needs too. He just needs too.” They both cried, Cember cried himself to sleep, she watched him sleep, I’m sorry…She started to regret her decision to leave Kiltin, but the rumors of him getting Cember killed is something that seemed despite their love he would do at that point, she didn’t want to risk it. Kiltin was gone.

In the morning Vain had woken up first, before her son. She was still heartbroken from the night before, she looked to normally Kiltin would sleep, right next her. It was empty. She took a breath, she felt empty with out him, but somehow had still move on, somehow.

She looked down at Cember, she remembered how he begged for his father to stay but he couldn’t he didn’t understand it. She looked up to sky; it was dark gray clouds in the sky. “I’m sorry.” She felt like crying, she tried to get up to her feet it was too hard just to get up the pain was still too near; she gave up on standing up. She moved onto her side slightly moving Cember in his sleep.

She tried to focus her mind on the great memories she had with Kiltin and rather not him not being there. It made it worse; it just hurt more that way. Every memory, just made it hurt, how she remember the way he laughed, smiled, how he felt, everything about him hurt. He should be here, but he isn’t. She relived every memory as she fell asleep.

Cember woke up from his sleep, he could see his mother asleep, and he wanted to wonder so he did as he pleased not really knowing what trouble or danger was. He looked around he thought his father was lying before, so a short time was maybe just in the morning he would come back. He truly understood it he looked around. While the other side of him didn’t at all.

“Where’s day he said only a little while…right?” he asked no one, but himself, a part of him told him he was gone, the other didn’t understand it. He looked around “Which way did daddy go?” He started sniffing the ground, and wonder around not looking up but just at the ground. He found a paw print, he sniffed it, and it smelt like his father!! He shot up and looked around with a smile on his face. It slowly died out, when he couldn’t see father anywhere.

He sat down next to the paw print, laid down next to it, he lifted he paw and set in the paw print and took it out and did it again. He kept on doing this waiting. He turned to a see a gray wolf looking at him.

“Abomination what are you doing?” The gray wolf asked him, Cember could tell it was a girl wolf. The gray wolf made him feel uncomfortable.

He slightly whimpered, he didn’t like being called an abomination, it hurt when they called him that. Was that his real name? He thought Cember was, but everyone calls him abomination. “I-I…. I’m waiting.” He said playfully looking up at her.

Gray wolf looked hard at him, he lowered his ears in cowering motion. “What are you waiting for, abomination?” The gray wolf asked accusingly.

He almost started to run away but something held him in fear, he couldn’t move, “I’m waiting for daddy. Waiting for Daddy…” He staggered, as he couldn’t move in fear he wanted to run to his mother, “That’s all waiting for daddy.”

The gray wolf looked accusingly at him, “Waiting for daddy eh?” the gray wolf asked. He nodded his head quickly. “Well you daddy isn’t ever coming back because you.”

He got watery eyed, “What? Daddy said he had to go just for a little while.” Something in him already knew that, but the other didn’t. “Daddy said he was going to be there for me…”

“Well aint that cute? Daddy just lied to you, because you couldn’t understand it, when someone leaves a life, he isn’t going back, he gone, never to come back, he lied to you. He had to leave because of you, you’re the only reason Abomination, and you’re the reason of why he left forever.” The gray wolf said sternly, “And that’s the dead truth. I won’t lie to you.”

He turned away in tears, “My…my fault? Daddy left because of me…” the gray wolf nodded her head to answer him. He looked at the ground and curled up next to the paw print. He started whimper repeatedly. The gray wolf looked at him with some grief and turned, “By the way Abomination my name is Helen.” he just buried his head in his paws making him more like a ball.

He twitched his hear as it started to rain, he shrived at the first drop of rain it was ice-cold rain he could tell as hit his right ear. He kept on shivering as each drop fell on him. The thought lingered in his mind; he was the reason of why his dad left…forever. Cember felt numb but felt so cold.

Vain awoke when it came to a downpour she panicked and nearly screamed, when Cember wasn’t next to her. She got to feet the fastest she had in her life, “Cember! Cember!” She cried out, she ran to a spot and looked franticly where could he be?! She thought to herself. The heavy ice-cold rain diminished her sense of smell.

She dreaded, “The rain is freezing he could…” She looked franticly around, she scanned the area around him, “Cember…Cember…Please…” she looked harder and faster constantly turning looking ever so looking. She finally could see Cember curled up in a ball next to a small mud puddle.

“Cember!!” she cried out as she ran up to him, she nuzzled him, and she stopped feeling that he was shriving heavily. “Cember, are you ok?” She asked very kindly, she stood over him to block as much rain as she could.

He slowly opened his eyes; he was so cold, he whimpered, at the cold. Cember glanced over at the mud puddle, which was his father’s paw print, he winched at the sight, and it was gone. He looked away from it, he finally noticed his mother. “Mommy?”

Vain spoke softly she could tell that he was hurt and freezing, “Yes, Cember?” she wondered about what his question was; he normally didn’t talk at all.

He paused, and whimpered, “I’m I the reason daddy left? They say it was me, I’m I?” He asked sadly shivering madly.

Vain shook her head, “No…not at all, your not the reason don’t think that they’re wrong Cember.”

She noticed his ears go even lower then they were, “Mommy?” He paused for a moment, “We do you call me Cember? Everyone calls me abomination…why do they call me that? Isn’t that my name?”

“NO!!! " Vain shouted out loudly; Cember stumbled away from her frightened. She paused, she noticed he crawling away from her. “Cember…” he hurried faster to a rock and hid behind it, she felt terrible how could she have done that, shout so suddenly, I must have terrified him.

She slowly walked to him it seemed very quiet only soft pounding of the rain was the only noise, “Cember, I’m…I’m sorry.” She noticed him sink down trying to evade being seen. She paused, “Cember, I’m sorry Cem.” She noticed he was still shivering terribly. “Cember its ok Cember. It’s me.” She felt terrible, to him, his world yelled at him.

She sighed, and shook her head, and walked over to him and picked him up by the scruff. He
