This story has NOTHING to do with my other stories!

   Chapter 1

  (Akima's P.O.V.)

My mother, a white wolf, led me, away from the new pack.

"Aniu," my father, a dark gray male wolf, growled. "Let's go back."

"No, Coal," Aniu said. "They wil kill her."

 "I'm fine mom!" I piped up. I'm a sleek silvery she-wolf with ice blue eyes and I'm a year-old.

"No," Aniu snapped. "No, Akimu." I snorted and continued walking through the snow. Aniu sighed.

"You are just like my-" Coal cut her off with a loud snarl.

"THAT husky and his son are not in your life anymore!" Coal snapped. I tilted my head in confusion. What husky? What son? Did I have a brother?

"My old family still is!" Aniu snapped.

"Is it me or that HUSKY?!" Coal growled.

"Your ridiculous!" Aniu howled. "Shadow is dead!" Shadow?

  "Who's-" I began.

"A stupid husky, Akimu, a stupid husky," Coal snarled. Aniu growled.

"MY daughter will know the truth Coal!" Aniu howled with rage in every edge of her voice.

"She'll die frist!" Coal's voice was icey and snake like.

"Run!" Aniu howled to me. "Run, my daughter! Run to Nome! Balto will know what to do! GO!" I felt horrible to leave my mother but I ran anyway. Then, when I turned back, I saw it.

Aniu had stepped imbetween Coal and I and while I was running, he was trying to get through her quick body.

"RUN TO BALTO!" Aniu howled. "I will meet you there!" I felt my paws thunder across the snow as I obeyed my mother, my heart pleading me to save her. There was a CHANCE that she'd make it but she had sacrificed herself for me. The snow flew back behind my paws.

My legs begged me to stop running but I couldn't. A large town opened up infront of me. I slid in the snow and, evntually, I stopped sliding and was in the middle of a street.

Panting, I stood up. A brownish-gray wolfish looking dog walked to me.

  "Hello?" he said.

"Where's Balto? Aparently he's a wolfdog!" I gasped. The dog drew himself up.

"I'm Balto," he said. I gaped.

"I'm Akimu," I panted, standing up. "My mother, Aniu, told me to find you." Balto froze.

"Aniu? No, no, she's dead!" Balto cried.

  "She's not," I groaned. I don't think. I explained what happened.

  "Greetings, sister," Balto murmured.

 Chapter 2

 (Akima's P.O.V.)

 Sister? He was the son!

"My mother tried to tell me," I groaned.

"Our mother," Balto whispered. I didn't like the sound of it.

"MY mother loved my father more than yours. Shadow, was his name?" I lied. It was a big lie not just because of my father's betrayal but because Aniu adopted me when my father abandoned my birth mother. He had mated with her (and she had REALLY loved him, too) then got mad when she had me. He killed her and, since he and Aniu had had pups that didn't survive, gave me to my mom.

  "Impossible!" Balto howled.

  "True," I taunted.

"I know your lying!" Balto snarled.

"Did you grow up with them?" I asked.

"No, but-" Balto was lost for words.

"I didn't think so," I snorted. Balto glared and led me to a shed.

"This is your home. Enjoy," Balto growled. When his back was to me I heard, "Or go drown. I'm not too picky."

  "I heard that dog-lover!" I snapped.

"Good!" Balto snorted. Then he left me.

"Who are you?" a hissing voice snarled. My hair flew up and I turned around. I was face-to-face with a red and white husky male.

  "I'm Akima," I growled.

"YOU have some nerve treating balto like that," the husky snorted.

"I have my own ways," I snapped.

"Got an attitude problem?" a tanish colored husky female hissed.

  "Maybe," I snarled.

"Who are you?" another husky female with light blue eyes and tawnyish fur asked.

  "A-" I began.

"Quiet, Aleu," the redish husky snapped.

"You be quiet, Kodi," Aleu snapped back. Kodi just snorted.

"Kodi, just listen," the other tanish husky said.

  "Sure, Dusty," Kodi sighed.

"Akima," I said. "My name's Akima."

"Why were you talking bad about Balto?" Aleu snarled, sudennly. I shrugged.

"He's a sissy," I replied. Before I knew it, I was under Aleu's paws and she was snarling at me.

  "Take it back," she growled.

"ENOUGH!" a voice howled. I looked up and saw a muscular blueish-silver husky male beside a stack of hay.

"She insulted my father!" Aleu snapped.

"Let it be, Aleu." Suprisingly, it was Kodi's voice that defended her.

  "Kodi," Aleu growled. "She-"

"Give her a chance," Kodi interrupted, giving me a warm smile. I felt shicked by his sudden change of expression.

"Kodi's right," Dusty sighed. Kodi grinned at me.

"Here," he said, walking to a hay stack. "You can sleep here." I walked to it and collapsed on it. My eyes flew shut  and I was asleep in moments.

Chapter 3

 (Akima's P.O.V.)

I was running on a block of ice in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure why but I kept going. A piece of the ice flew upwards and threw me into a pile of snow.

I heard a roar and a polar bear walked out of the pile of snow. I backed up and backed IN to another dog.

"Come on," the dog said. It was Kodi! We started running away from the polar bear, which just went back into the snow. We stopped right infront of more ice. Kodi grinned at me.

"Fun and games right?" he laughed. Kodi was laughing so hard he fell on the ground. Then he stood up and licked my ear!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I scrambled up, hay falling out of my fur.

"It was just a dream," I sighed, settling down again. I looked up and saw Aleu above me.

"Come on. We have to talk," she growled, leading me outside. Once outside, she sat down and I followed suit.

"Why do you dislike my father?" she asked. I kicked at the snow.

"I dunno," I shrugged. "Because I grew up thinking I was the only one and I just feel, well I don't know, weird because now I suddenly have a brother that my mother tried to tell me about but couldn't. It's too strange!" Aleu sighed.

"Maybe you should talk to Ice," Aleu suggested. "The silvery-blue dog."

  "Why?" I asked.

"He went through change too," Aleu said. I then I sudennly recognized her, or thought I did.

"And you?" I asked sudennly. "Weren't you with wolves once?" Aleu just looked at me for a moment then looked at the snow, smiling.

"Once upon a time," she replied. I tilted my head. "Not anymore."

"Why?" I asked. Aleu's eyes flared.

"NOT YOUR buisness," she growled, walking away. I sighed.

"Hey, want to walk?" Kodi appeared by my side.

"Maybe no- sure," I sighed. I allowed myself to walk away with the red husky. We walked for what seemed like ages until Kodi stopped, facing me.

"Let's tell our story's," he said. "Well, you know mine i've told you about being Balto and Jenna's kid and being lead mail dog. You're turn." I gulped. My turn? What would- COULD I say? I decided on the truth. I told the story of my father and my motherS. I told about my mother's sacrifice. Kodi listened and his eyes comforted me but I was afraid. I was afraid that Kodi would think that because we weren't related, we could be together. It was imposssible. Why? Even I didn't know.

 Chapter 4

 (Dusty's P.O.V.)

I stretched my jaws in a yawn and I walked out of the barn. I saw Aleu watching Dingo play with his pup, Foxy, a redish-brown she-husky.

"Hey," I said, approaching her. Aleu looked at me.

"Hi," she sighed. "I used to have it. All of it." I tilted my head.

"A mate," Aleu growled. "A pup. A leadership."

 "What happened?" I asked.

"Well," Aleu said, smiling, and looking at the rising sun, "I got wiser. I was used. My mate, Tomush, was using me for power." I gasped. Why was she grinning?

"My son then tried to over through me. His name was Hinko." Aleu stood up, a look of pure excitment spred across her face. "One day, I so found myself corned by the pack. They were confused by Tomush's lies. They attacked one at a time and one at a time, I threw them off. Finally, it was Tomush himself that faced me." Aleu had a wild grin on her face now, her eyes sparkling with danger.

"He lunged but I was better. I dodged." Aleu made a swift swerving movement to show me. "I clawed his face and my claws puntered his eyes, blinding him then I raced ino the trees!" Aleu's eyes were still gleeming. "I came back." Aleu turned away and I heard her murmur contently, "Home. I came home." I smiled, happy for her.

 (Akimu's P.O.V.)

I walked along the shore, thinking. How could life change so quickly? Just one dirty little secret and your world crashed around you, leaving you to rebuild a NEW worl for yourself. WHY? I kicked the sand.

"Akimu!" It was Balto. He slid to a stop infront of me. "It's mom!"
