Balto : Well good luck. Don’t get stuck in the snow.
Kodi : Don’t worry. I wont.
Balto : Make me proud son.
Kodi : I will.
The mail team was finished being loaded, and then they were off. Balto decided he wanted to g to the cave to see if he could find the wolf that gave him the powers he now has. But still, Balto could not find the wolf. Balto had wished he knew the wolf’s name. Balto headed out to Jenna’s home to visit.
Balto climbed through Rosie’s bedroom window, and saw Jenna cleaning up her room.
Balto : Let me help Jenna
Jenna was startled by Balto
Jenna : Thanks. Just start anywhere you want
Balto began to help Jenna clean up Rosie’s room. When they were finished, they both jumped up on her bed, and laid down.
Balto : Hey Jenna, did you like last night?
Jenna : Better than the first time. (She chuckled)
Balto : I have been thinking. You know how most of the dogs around here get bored very easily?
Jenna : Yes
Balto : Well, what if I put on a dog magic show once a week?
Jenna : That’s a great idea Balto!
Balto : I might do one tonight. But I will need someone to go spread the word about it. How about you Jenna?
Jenna : Ok. I will get as many dogs to come. Were will you be performing?
Balto : Probably on the beach.
Jenna : Ok. The beach it is. I am going to go spread the word now.
Jenna and Balto both left in the opposite directions. Balto went to the beach to practice some tricks, or get some ideas. He had Boris observe to see if it was a good tick or not.
That night, tons of dogs were on the beach, waiting for Balto to begin. Balto saw Jenna sitting in the front of the crowd.
Balto walked in front of all the dogs as they cheered. Balto signaled them to be quiet, and then he turned to the water. He raised his paw, and then the water in the ocean lifted up, and shaped into a ball. The dogs gasped as they watched. Balto then made the water go in all sorts of directions and shapes. This is the trick he had shown Jenna at the pond, but on a smaller scale. Once Balto was finished with that trick, all of the dogs began to cheer for Balto. Jenna was cheering as well.
Balto : Now, I need one volunteer please. How about you Jenna.
Jenna chuckled, and then walked up to Balto.
Balto : Now, lay down.
Jenna did as she was told. Then Balto put a blanket over her.
Balto : 1, 2, 3!
Balto removed the blanket, and Jenna was gone. All of the dogs began to cheer again. Balto then made Jenna reappear.
Balto : Jenna, you can go back and sit down now.
Jenna went back to the dog crowd, and sat down.
Balto : Now, you saw how I made Jenna disappear. I am going to perform a trick that is similar, but instead of one of the dogs from my audience, I will make myself disappear.
The dogs began to cheer as Balto walked into the shallow water of the ocean. The dogs were silent as Balto sat down. Balto closed his eyes, and then water swirled around him, concealing him. When the water went back into the ocean, Balto was gone. Then Balto dug out of the sand, and appeared in front of the other dogs. They cheered louder than ever before. Balto liked this kind of cheering. But Balto’s fame was short lived. The sand below Balto turned into quicksand, and Balto began to sink.
Jenna : Balto!
Jenna ran to Balto, and tried to pull him out, but he was under the sand before she could get to him.
Balto was sinking further and further into the sand when he fell into a small room.
Voice : Welcome Balto
Balto : Who’s there?
Voice : You tried to find me in the cave. I am the one who gave you these powers. My name is Orson.
Balto : Why did you bring me down here?
Orson : I have some things to tell you, Balto
Balto : Like what?
Orson : These powers you now have. I notice you are trying to put on a little magic show. Now, these powers I gave you. You can use them any way you want. Any way you chose. But, there are a few rules. To start, you cannot use these powers to kill anyone. Next, you can’t bring back the dead. You can heal people, but not bring them back from the dead. Finally, you can’t make someone love you. Take Jenna for example, you two have a strong bond of love. Say you were to accidentally break that relationship. You can’t use these powers to make her love you again. If you break any of these rules, I will take them away from you. Now, go back to the dogs.
Balto was sucked back up to the surface, were all of the dogs were. Jenna was crying, but when she saw Balto come back up, she ran to him.
Jenna : Balto! I was so scared! All of the other dogs ran when you started to sink into the sand.
Balto : I am all right. What about you Jenna?
Jenna : I am ok. I am just happy you are ok.
Balto : Did you like the show?
Jenna : I think everyone did. Except for the part were you sunk into the sand. That scared all of the dogs off.
Balto : I could tell why they would run off. Say, um, when do you think Kodi will be back from the mail run? It will be a while before they return, I know. I would say about 13 days.
Jenna : Well, I don’t know when he will be back. I would say about 13 days as well. But i am just glad your ok.
Balto : So am i.
Balto and Jenna went to Balto's boat. Jenna had agreed to spend the night with him. Boris was moping the deck when they came up.
Boris : Why did you bring Jenna here Balto? Is she staying the nigh or something?
Balto : Yes she is Boris.
Jenna : Dont worry. We wont bother you Boris.
Boris : Well, i dont want to be in the way, so i will go sleep somewhere else tonight so you two can get comfy (chuckles)
Jenna : Why did Boris laugh?
Balto : You know....
Jenna : Oh.
Balto and Jenna walked over to were Balto slept, but there was only 1 blanket. Balto pulled out another blanket for Jenna. As they laid down under their blankets, they were talking about Balto's new abilities.
Jenna : Balto, how did you all of the sudden become a awsome magician? I never knew you could do things that cool. I never even knew you knew magic tricks.
Balto : I cant tell you. If i did, you wouldn't belive me.
Jenna : Well sure i would believe you. But if you dont want to tell me thats fine. Hey, is Boris around?
Balto : No. He went into town
Jenna : Mm Hmm Hmm (she smiled)
Balto knew what she wanted to do. So they began to reproduce under their blankets.
The next morning, Balto led Jenna home. For about 3 hours, he played with Jenna and Rosie. Rosie was throwing sticks for Jenna and Balto to chatch and bring back. Fetch. Balto had never played this game before, but he soon got the hang of it. Balto was soon better than Jenna.
That evening, Balto was thinking of what to preform at the night's magic show. He thought of an exelent idea. One that would shoot him to the top. There have been other magic shows preformed by dogs, but Balto was the best. He had thought of 2 realy good ideas.
At Balto's second magic show, all of the dogs were wondering if he was going to sink into the sand again. When Balto came infront of the dogs, they began to cheer.
Balto : Thank you. Now, yesterday, i had a little accedint, but i can asure you that it wont happen again. I have a treat for all of you tonight. I have gone searching for different dogs who preform magic tricks. Their names are Darcull, which you may know also as Mr. Magic. Scarabar, and Sortan. They have agreed with me to put on the best magic show posible. Enjoy.
Balto stepped into the crowd of dogs, and sat beside Jenna to whatch what the three were going to preform.
Darcull, Scarabar, and Sortan walked onto the beach. They lifted their chins, and a purpleish, pink mist came out of the sand. The dogs then ran around in a single circle together, and the mist flew around in, and out of the running dogs. They stoped, and raised a paw. The mist then formed into 3 seprate balls. The balls of mist circled around the dogs, and back into the sky. Next, then looked out at the water, and lifted their chins. A waterspout then appeared. Once the waterspout fell back into the ocean, the 3 bowed, and walked away. Then all of the dogs began to cheer. Balto walked back to the beach.
Balto : Now, tonight, i will be preforming an illusion never before attempted. Kids!
two kid dogs came over bringing a box, and 3 swords.
Balto : I am going to lay down in this box. The kids are going to put the lid on it, and stab the swords all the way through it. Then i will reapear by swiming to shore from the ocean.
Balto stepped into the box, and the pups the put the lid on it. Jenna didnt like this trick. The pups then took the swords, and stabed them through. Jenna looked away as they did this. Next, they waited for Balto to come from the ocean.
10 miniutes had passed, and Balto had not swam to shore yet. Jenna then screamed. The dogs looked at the swords ends, and they saw little droplets of blood coming form them. Jenna ran to the box, and pulled the swords out. They were covered in blood. When Jenna took the lid of off the box, and looked inside, she was speechless. She then fainted. All of the dogs then ran to the box. What they saw was Balto with sword holes stabed through him. Balto was dead.
Once Jenna woke up, they told Jenna what had happened to Balto. She was crying hard.
Jenna : How could this happen? Balto is dead. (Jenna began to cry)
Aleu : It wasn't you fault mom. It could have happened to anyone.
Jenna : How could it happen to anyone! He was mentaling into magic, and he tried to preform something that no one has tried before! I knew he was planing something stupid, but i didn't know what it was.
Aleu : Mom, i know your sad.
Jenna : Sad! I am tore apart!
Aleu : So am i. But we will both just have to move on.
Jenna : Move on! How can i move on?! Without Balto, my life is hardly worth living!
Aleu : It's ok mom. We will see him again when we die. Just calm down mom. But i wonder how Kodi is going to take it when he finds out.
Jenna ran away from Aleu, and on top of Bear Rock to look at Balto's body. The dogs were going to burry it the next day.
