Dingo looked at the cloudy grey sky. He sighed and rested his head on his paws. He had been waiting for days and he was starving. His owner had left him, and now, here he was confused, alone and tied up. The rope was tight around his neck. He stared at a nearby muddy puddle. He could see his reflection, his large brown sorrowful eyes, his skinny figure and his scraggly reddish-brown coat. Suddenly something else appeared, reflected in the puddle was the figure of a wolf. She was a female, Dingo could tell. She had a red coat with bright sky blue eyes. Dingo whipped his head up. She was a magnificent creature.
“What’s a dog like you doing out here all alone?” she asked as a smirk spreaded across her face.
“Eh…” should he tell her? “My owner left me…” Dingo put his head down in shame.
“Well, well,” she looked at him, her stare left him stuck, “I can’t leave you out here to starve so you can come back to the pack with me.”
“Back to the pack?” Dingo was unsure, “but I’m stuck,” he gestured towards the rope.
“No problems there,” she said and as quick as lightning she bit the rope and it snapped in half.
“Thanks,” Dingo felt relieved that he was free.
“I’m sorry, I’m afraid I don’t know your name,” she said.
“Dingo,” he replied.
“Pikatti,” she turned around, “now follow me.”
To be continued…
