Mathew's heart trobbed. He felt like there was no place for him in the pack.
He entered a dark cave to hide from the pack.
'If they think I'm different....Then what will they do when I become alpha male? They'll probably just..Leave, and make their own pack.. They'd be better off doing that...' he sobbed.
He heard the other pups of the pack playing outside. 'Why wont they just except me for who I am?..' Mathew said.
Margo heard Mathew talking, and walked up to the cave.
'Son. I know how you feel. But like I said, being different is what makes you so special. If those pups got to know you better, they'd really like you.' Margo explained.
'No they wont.. They hate me.' Mathew whispered. 'Just give them a chance..' Margo said. Mathew got up on all four legs, dropped his head, and walked out to the other pups.
'Hey, look! Its 'wingo' boy!' an older pup shouted.
Mathew's eyes filled up with tears, as he walked to his mothers cave.
'Mum?...'
And no answer.
Mathew started to cry.
'Mathew?' said a voice from outside the cave. 'Mathew? Are you ok?'
Mathew lifted up his head, to see that is was Freak, a weak smile appeared on his face, but slowly faded. 'I'm fine.' Mathew replied. 'No. Theres something wrong.. What is it? Is it about this 'diffrent' thing?' Freak asked.
Mathew gave a weak nod.
'Look. Dont worry about it. Me and Crunchinator are your friends, we dont care if your different. Would you like to come down by the lake?' Freak said while smiling gently. 'Yeah man. We're here for you. Lets go to the lake for a bit..' Crunchinator said.
'I guess. If it means I can get away from this place for awhile...' Mathew said.
Mathew, Freak and Crunchinator walked together to the lake talking to one another. Laughing and smiling.
'You know. You two are pretty sweet,'
Freak blushed. And Crunchinator grined.
'You two made me feel a whole lot better about being half wolf half dingo. But the other pups will still tease me for being different. And theres no way to stop that now.' Mathew said.
'Well, probably not. But I dont see the problem about being different. Maybe they wont like a mixed breed being new alpha male. But if you ask me its pretty stupid.' She said.
'Yeah. Would you like me to walk you home? Its starting to get dark.' Mathew said.
'Sure.' Freak replied.
They both started to walk home. But then, they started to hear noises from the trees and bushes around them and red glowing eyes coming from them.
