"Hey, there they are! The happy couple!" shouted Dusty, a gray-colored Husky. Kodi, son of Balto just smiled. "Thanks Dusty. Hey have you seen Kirby and Ralph today?" asked a gold-colored female Husky named Kalia.

  "Nope. But I did see Starlight. Ask her." Dusty replied. "Alright. Thanks." Kalia said walking away toward the general store. "You got a nice girl Kodi. Congratulations." Ralph stated cheerily. "Thanks."Kodi said.

~~~~~~~~~~Later~~~~~~~~~~

   While Kodi was running on the beach with Ralph and Kirby, Dusty and Kalia were lying on some rocks. "Does Kodi know about the......you know?" Dusty asked. "Yeah. Told him last night. He took it way better than I thought he would." Kalia replied while trying to find a comfortable position on her rock. "That's good" sighed Dusty in relief. No kidding.

~~~~~~~~~A Month Later~~~~~~~~~~

    "Hey Kodi. Where ya going?" Kirby asked after they got back from their mail run. "Going to check on Kalia." Kodi replied. "She's fine. Dusty went to talk to her earlier. She said when you got back you were in for a suprise."  Ralph stated humorously.

   Kodi ran like the wind.

  When he got to the shed where his mother had her first litter, to say he was nervous would be an understatement. Kalia looked over to him gesturing for him to come over. Her gold fur lit up like the sun in the light of the fire. When Kodi got over to her he looked down.

  What he saw was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life.

   Six adorable little balls of fluff were crawling around the dog bed. They were the perfect mix of their parents. All Kodi could do was stare at them and nuzzle Kalia. They spent the rest of the day together.

~~~~~~~~~3 Months Later~~~~~~~~~~

    The pups had grown fast and were playing on the beach in no time. The first born, Blaze,  was a mirror reflection of his father. The second born, Kota, was a brownish red female with sapphire eyes like her mother's. The third, Shadow, was a copy of.....Jenna! Though his eyes were a light orange. The fourth was a gray-brown mix color. She was the most wolf-like of the six. They named her Saba after Kodi's sister. The fifth was a gray colored  male named Dingo. Also named after one of Kodi's siblings. The youngest was the most beautiful of the six. They named her Dakota, after Kodi's other sister. Dakota was the mirror image of her mother.

    It was early summer and Dakota was walking through town when a brown male Husky came up to her. His name was Neero, and he was the most popular male pup in Nome. To Dakota he was a despicable idiot, though she would never say it out loud.

    "Hey Dakota."he said suavely.

    Dakota didn't answer and walked around him. That didn't stop Neero though. He just jumped in front of her and began flirting.

     "I know where the best bones are buried.Why don't you come join me for lunch?" he asked with a grn on his face.

"No."

      Neero was stunned. Had he heard her right? He had been so sure she'd say yes. When he regained conciousnesss Dakota was way ahead. He'd wait till she came to her senses, then he'd begin to court her.Just wait my sweet Dakota. You'll want me before too long.

  As Dakota walked toward her mother's house, she thought about how much she hated Neero. What an idiot. Thinking I would go anywhere with him, much less eat with him. He is such a fool. With those thoughts gone she went into her mother's room.

   "Hello Dakota. Ready to go find your dad and siblings?"asked Kalia. "Yeah. Let's go." she said with a smile. When they got to the post office with Dakota's brother's and sisters, they waited for the mail team to return with the mail.

    "Here they come. Let's go meet them. Ready?" asked Kalia happily. "YEAH!!" all the pups said in unison. "Come on then." said their mother.

    Kodi and his team saw several approaching figures. Kodi already knew who it was. He had to say that seeing his mate and pups was far better than seeing red-eyed black wolves like the one that had attacked them earlier.

   Later that night Kodi told his mate the story about the wolf attack. She was scared to death by the end. She was practically shivering. Scratch that. She was shivering.

   Since the wolf had attacked a little over a mile from Nome, Kodi spent the night with Kalia and the pups in the boiler room. The next morning there was a terrible blizzard. Kodi and his family stayed in the boiler room until the storm ended. It was a long day.

~~~~~~~~~~Later~~~~~~~~~~

  Warning that a pack of wild wolves had surrounded Nome had cancled the mail runs. Kodi and  his family had been brought food to last until the wolves left.

   Blaze looked out the window of the boiler room only to find that there were five or six wolves outside the boiler room. Blaze climbed down to warn his siblings and parents about the danger outside. Kodi looked as well and found the same results except there were ten wolves now. Kodi tlod them to hide somwhere safe.

~~~~~~~~~With Demon~~~~~~~~~~

   "Demon. Scouts confirm that the Husky and his family are inside this building" a black wolf said. "Get him. Bring the female and the young to me. I want to have a look at the girl." the wolf named Demon said with a sly grin on his face.

  "Yes sir."

~~~~~~~~~~With Kodi~~~~~~~~~~

   Kodi lay in a haystack with his family when he heard several footsteps coming toward them. Then the hay was thrown off and several black wolves ambushed and cornered his family. They threw him aside and kidnapped his family. He tried to save them but he was knocked unconcious.

~~~~~~~~~~With Demon~~~~~~~~~~

   "Well. What a fine female." Demon said while circling Kalia.

   Then out of nowhere Kodi jumped on the wolf scaring him to death. Being so frightened, Demon swung the creature off and ran for it. The other wolves followed. "Good ridance" Kalia muttered to Kodi while nuzzling him. The pups came up and tackled him to the ground.

   The pups grew to be yearlings before too long. Blaze, Dingo, and Saba all joined junior sled teams. They were good at it too. But rest assured, this is not the end of their stories.
