person’s side until after their punishment!” Shadow had enough, the innocent being punished for protecting another was uncalled for.
Marco, started mumbling in some other language, and drew out one of his middle claws. He too had enough of the other’s behaviour. When he finished mumbling he lunged out at Shadow.
‘Slash!’ She was cut over the left eye, then suddenly the same over the right. She bent her head down in pain. Blood was trickling from both cuts, but soon they would turn black. The scars of the old ways had magic in them so they would stay with the receiver for a lifetime. Shadow stood back up straight and just stood glaring at her father.
“You will pay for that, alpha or not, you should listen to your children.” The pain and the rage sent Shadow blind for some amount of seconds. She stood their thinking of what to do next but Marco gave her an idea any way.
“Enjoy your scars, daughter, I hope they suit you well, as that high up rule breaking, law I should have you killed. But then how could I?, Shadow leave my pack, and take you stupid rescued orphan pup with you. You are now froth Banished! GET OUT!
“Fine, I will get Zilar and James and leave you to lead you lost pack forever!”
“NO, I said you are only to take James, Zilar stays with me!”
Now Shadow’s heart was breaking. She wasn’t even allowed to take her own son with her. She had enough of this nonsense and before she knew what she was doing, she leapt at the alpha. Marco was knocked to the ground caught totally off-guard by his daughter. She bit anything she could, his ear, neck, wrist just something to make him feel pain. But these actions just bought Marco more wanting to fight back.
And for five full on minutes, fur and blood was flying everywhere as the other one attack the other. But it was until Marco left his defences open, he made a fatal mistake, his neck was left opened, and Shadow took the opportunity and with all her strength flung the older wolf straight into the rocky, cave wall.
“We were trying to save you not kill you, now I don’t think we should have.” Shadow said as darkness flooded her heart.
She wasn’t like her father she couldn’t kill him, but took the chance while he was down to get her son. She bounded out of the Alphas quarters to the pups den, only to find many wolves blocking her way. Marco had told them earlier not to let Shadow in, but She fought endlessly to get pass them but every time was thrown to the ground. Then the storm clouds started pouring down rain.
She was weak from all the fighting and wounds she could no longer fight back, the last time she was thrown to the ground she just laid there in the mud and the cold wet ground until she cold no longer feel the cold underneath her.
“Do you see now Shadow? You can not win now LEAVE!” Growled Marco, his temper was on end, because now he was questioning his strengths, a young wolf easily defeated him?
Shadow still on the ground, shut her eyes and tears sneaked passed her eyelids and joined the blood from her cuts, to trickle down her face. She didn’t want to leave her son, no mother would. Instead, they gave her an orphaned one she had rescued from the wilderness, some previous months ago.
The pup didn’t know what was happening so he just curled up near the only wolf that ever loved him in this pack. Shadow felt the young wolf next to her fur and gave up, she wasn’t going to win. She stood up and nudged the nine month pup to follower her. She looked in the direction of where Zilar’s den was and saw his little six month figure trying to escape his captures and be with his mother, but it was no use they were to strong for him. Shadow whispered “goodbye son” in his direction and he howled mournfully as she left.
She no longer wanted to be anywhere near this pack, so she took the shortest route out of the territory in a north-east direction. She ignored all the dark looks she received from Marco’s guards as she and James left to go on a journey to a new life, far away from Marco’s pack.
