Dawn is a time when some are either going to sleep, or awakening from it. But in the pack of Marco, a small group of wolves watch an evil plain commencing from a far away trench. The supposed to be loyal beta, ‘Craven’, was meeting a large group of around a dozen or two of Balthazar’s evil warriors, on the edge of the packs territory. Craven was sick of beta and wanted more power, and Balthazar wanted all untamed packs of any sort killed, so the two hatched an evil plain, that would take place later that day.
Those who knew about this plan and were loyal to Marco the alpha of the pack, were planing on stopping this attack but only three of them there, one would think they wouldn’t stand a chance against the twelve or twenty four wolves. But the strongest warrior of the pack had not yet joined them to help defend.
“Craven is a fool, to think we will roll over and let him kill our alpha,” Trigger snarled at the sickening sight he was watching. “That beta will get his punishment. One of you, go get Shadow, she would want to see this.” Triggers ears were now folded back in disgrace but when no one budged to move to get Shadow, made him even madder. “What is wrong with you two?”
“Trigger you know very well, I am not even supposed to be in the territory. If Marco catches me here or worst near his daughter I will be killed.” Replied a brown wolf with a cream under belly and dark brown fur patches on the start of his front and back legs as well as the tip of his tail and on top of his eyes and along his nose.
“Yes because of all the help it did going near her last time Seth.” A black, dark grey and red wolf sarcastically replied to the brown wolf. He rolled his eyes at Seth. “Your even lucky to be alive, if she was my daughter I would of killed you.” An evil laugh came out of his mouth as he said this. Chaos stood up, and started walking away before Seth reacted to his comment. “I will go and get my sister then, shall I,” and he ran of to the packs den.
Trigger watched Seth glare at Chaos as he left.
“Why aren’t you dead? And why protect Marco if he wants your head, if it steps into his territory?”
“I would have been dead, if Shadow wasn’t there. And this pack has been more a family to me then I have ever known, plus I still love her, and do anything to protect her.” Seth sighed deeply. And by ‘her’ he meant Shadow. “But she no longer loves me.”
“How tragic,” spoke a cold dark voice from behind the two wolves. This making them jump and spin around to see who had spoken, only to be ambushed by five of Balthazar’s ‘Shadow warriors.’ They weren’t exactly skilful fighters but they were many of them at Balthazar’s hand.
Craven had been the one who spoke, and was now laughing at the fighting. Every time Seth or Trigger got ride of one, another would join to replace his fallen comrade in the circle. The fight was being pushed towards heart of the territory where the pack was, but many of Balthazar’s foot soldiers were dead.
Finally when they were at the packs den, many on lookers were no watching and Shadow and Chaos had joined in the fight. Only to be surprised when all the foot soldiers were dead, that Cravens own army from Marco’s packed joined in, fighting against Shadow, Chaos, Trigger and Seth. When knowledge of the fight had reached the Alpha, Marco’s appearance made Craven join in the battle.
When Craven knew the alpha had seen enough, he ordered his army to capture the four wolves. They struggled to hold the four down properly, two of Cravens army holding down one each. Accept Shadow who had four of Craven’s men holding her down, as she was to strong and could easily push them off her.
“What is going on here?!” Demanded a huge red wolf, with a white underbelly and a black streak of fur, which ran along his back. It was he Alpha. Many Questions came to his mind as he saw the view of who had been captured, his own daughter and youngest son amongst them.
“We have caught the traditors, who planed to kill you your majesty. They were found with the foot soldiers up in the hills.” Craven answered, in a cowardly voice so, the alpha would believe him.
Everyone in the pack gasped in shock, even the four captured on the ground. The alpha looked shocked at his children who were on he ground, who too looked at him with an expression saying not guilty. Then he looked away from them, looking disappointed.
“They obviously wanted to kill you, to become alpha, my lord” Craven once again spoke up.
“THAT’S A LIE! Father don’t listen to him, his the one who is the traditor!” Shadow couldn’t take it any more. All the lies coming out of Cravens mouth and her father believing the Beta, over his own daughter, enraged her. She threw off, the wolves holding her down and lunged at the beta, bitting hard onto his neck. Craven screamed out in pain, but the younger wolf didn’t let go. She could feel his warm blood, turning cold as it dribbled down her neck. She wanted to kill the real traditor, but when five of Cravens men couldn’t even get her to stop, the Alpha jumped in and pulled the aggressive wolf off the beta, where she rolled over in surrender.
“See, she tried to kill me.” Craven gasped as he fell to the ground in pain.
“I would have finished it to if it wasn’t for him!” growled Shadow.
“Guards take these three to the dungeons, (a cave guarded by guards so they can’t get out) to be awaited punishment,” Marco looked at Chaos, Trigger and Seth, to indicate them. Then he turned and snarled at his oldest child, Shadow, “You go to my quarters and wait for me there.” “And Blackmore, do something about your captain,” Looking at Craven bleeding on the ground. Blackmore nodded and gave orders to Cravens little army to take him inside his den.
Shadow walked as fast as she could to the alpha’s den, ears folded down as she went. She was tiered from all the rage, but still she thought about what was going to happen to her. ‘Would Marco, really believe what Craven had said?’ ‘Or would he believe her?’ She shook the thoughts off, not wanting to think of the outcome, as she got closer to the den.
As she walked into the den she was greeted by her younger brother, the middle child of the litter, Draco. The red, cream, black and silver wolf was shocked by all the blood on Shadow, and why was she here. He asked her what happened while he looked her up and down, looking for the source of the blood lost.
“Well, well, I though you would have been there Draco, you would of liked a good fight. But daddy seems to have kept you here, but I guess you don’t know whose side you would fight on anyway.” Shadow glared at her brother with very dislike taste. Normally the two would get along like best friends, but when Cravens plan was first caught and a plan to wreak it was bought up by a few, Draco would not fight against Craven. Draco seemed to take in her comment and thought it was best to leave her be.
As all the mess was taken care of and everyone was calm again. Marco headed towards his den, but on the way he took a detour and came across another den with guards, where he whispered something to them. Then he went straight to his den.
Shadow was sitting outside the den just watching the storm filled sky coming closer and the lightening flash and enjoyed the sound of thunder. She had chosen to wait for her father outside as she no longer wanted to be near her brother. She wasn’t waiting long, Marco just got there.
“Come inside and deal with your brother” He said with a cold voice. Marco had been dealing with the two fighting for a long time, and was sick of it and quite frankly didn’t know why. But it started with little fights when their mother was killed, but lately it was getting worse.
As the two entered, Draco sat up with a worried look on his face as he watched his father’s body language.
“Draco, I want to teach you something as it will be your duty to do it one day when you are alpha.” Draco’s face came more worried at his fathers statement and looked past him at Shadow as he walked up to his father, to see she too was worried, tilting her head sideways glancing at her farther.
“Bu…but Shadow is to be alpha first,” stuttered Draco. Shadow just stared at Draco thinking that he was a cowered.
Marco turned towards Shadow. He put his head down in sadness, but said “No one with the old ways scars can be Alpha.” Draco shook his head, he had no idea what was happening, but he knew Marco wanted him to put the scares on Shadow. He wouldn’t do it despite the siblings differences, he just ran out of the den. While Shadow stood still, wide eye staring at her father in horror.
“You of all people should know the punishment for plotting against the Alpha and attacking a high rank wolf!” The alpha growled at his oldest and just ignored the departure of one of his sons. “Brace yourself Shadow!”
“You call yourself alpha and you don’t even get the other person’s side until after
