Part 4: The Falling

There they stood, shining brightly against the dimness of the room, staring Zhock in his blood-red eyes. Cyber was still looking at Balto, he was impressed that Balto, being only half wolf could manage such a task as becoming a White Wolf. The tears still hitting the floor, Balto started to growl angrily at Zhock.

"Balto, not yet, contain your anger, unleash it at the right times, delivering more power and hatred into each concentrated blow you deliver." Cyber said assuringly to the now snarling Balto. "Besides, we've got plenty of time now."

Balto stared back up at Cyber who was now looking very serious. "Okay, but let's make this quick, it's starting to hurt me." he said nodding to Cyber, then he and Cyber turned to Zhock who was in a fighting position, regaining his wits.

"Split up!" yelled Cyber as he rounded Zhocks right side and shoved him to Balto, who was now biting down on Zhocks tail, swinging him back in Cybers direction. Cyber kicked Zhock up to almost the ceiling, then signaled over to Balto. Both of them rose up in a flash and in sync, kicked Zhock back down into the ground, then falling back down themselves.

"Cyber?" Balto asked with a smile, "Is now the right time to unleash my anger?" Cyber nodded back and then Balto walked over to Zhock. "Thanks for pushing me into this, I guess you were somewhat of a help." Then Balto put a paw to Zhocks neck and extended his claws. "I guess Steele will never get to apologize to me for all the jokes, but I can deal with that, what I can't deal with is the world being destroyed by a ...." Balto stopped and then put a paw to his head. "Cyber?! What's going on?! My head is....it's not right!" Cyber then looked over at a now whimpering Balto.

"Balto!?" he said paniced, "Balto are you alright?" Zhock smiled then arose with his blackness becoming white again and his eyes taking on the sky blue color of Steeles'. Cyber gave him an angry look, then took to Balto's side. "What's wrong?"

Then Zhock, now Steele again, looked around and saw the two next to each other and snuck out of the room before they could notice him. When he was outside, he was walking and then heard a strange noise that seemed to be whispering his name.

Cyber raised Balto's head a little as he growled at the door warning Steele to keep his distance. "Calm down Balto, now you have to find peace, anything that brings joy into your heart, find it and hold on to it now!"

Balto screamed and with this scream he awoke the entire town, everyone turning their lights on and poking their heads out of their houses in curiosity. "Cyber I can't!" he said heaving and gasping for breath. "I.....I can't think of anything! I don't......" he continued but was interrupted by Cyber.

"Think of Jenna!" he said smiling, sure that this effort would be all-or-nothing. "Come on think of the wonderful things that you two have done for each other, think of what you want to become of you and her." he said calming even himself down and exiting the White Wolf stage.

"Jenna......" Balto breathed out as he took on his regular colorings again. "Cyber, I just wanted to thank you, wait a second! How do you know about Jenna!?" he said surprised.

Cyber smirked almost laughing and trying desperately not to. "It wasn't that hard to tell. I mean the way you start to drool at the mere mention of her name!" he said with a chuckle nudging to Balto's chin.

"Uhhh." Balto said looking at the thick stream of saliva dripping from his mouth. "Shut up! You've got no room to talk there Cyber. I couldn't help but notice that you and a certain husky were paw-in-paw whaen I stumbled in here!" Balto replied wittily with a sly smile.

Cyber smiled as he started to walk out of the room and back to the boat. "You've got me there Balto."

"Cynthia what in God's name do you think you were doing back there?!" asked Jenna in a shocking rant as she paced back and forth on the snow. "I mean he....he's a wolf!" Jenna choked at her last sentence.

Cynthia's ears perked up as she looked back at Jenna with fire in her eyes, "What?" was all that she could say in her disgust. "Isn't Balto part wolf? Sorry, I didn't phrase that right, half wolf?"

Jenna shook her head, "That didn't come out right." Then her head snapped out of guilt and looked at her with squinted anger in her eyes, "How do you know about Balto and I?"

Cynthia let out a breath of sarcasm, "It's kinda obvious!"

Jenna gave back a worried look, then turned back to the door of her house and sat down. "Am I....are we really that obvious to everyone?" she said with no emotion in her voice.

Cynthia paused and then came around to Jennas' front. "I didn't mean it like that. I just.....well..." she nudged Jennas' cheek, "We'll talk about this tomorrow. Get some rest sweetie. No. Go see him." she said backing off own the road.

Then Jenna turned around smiling, "What will Rhet say?" she asked laughing a little.

Cynthia cocked her head, "Say about what? You're just tired. You're halloucinating." she said, then winking and walking off in the other direction. "Besides," she started to herself. "Congo will cover for me."

Jenna turned around and quietly, looking back every five or six steps, on her way to Balto's boat. What she didn't know was that Steele was on his way to pay a visit to Cynthia, but Steele wasn't Steele, but Zhock. And knowing of Cybers' little romance, he was going to pull some strings.

So Zhock followed close behind in the shadows by Cynthia until he got to her home, near a cliff. "Cynthia my dear pup, would you mind me asking what you think you're doing approaching this house?" he gave her an evil grin, as if he was up to something.

Cynthia's ears perked up and she turned around. "Hello. Steele is that you?"

"Quite the contrary dear. My name is Zhock." he said bowing.

Cynthia shrugged. "Whatever. I really don't care." she said turning around and walking to the door.

Zhocks eyes turned red and his voice began to turn demonic as he turned pitch black and shadows of flames surrounded his back, long black-flamed tails sprouted from his back-end and his tongue turned viper-like. "I'm afraid you don't understand. Cyber is one character that I don't get along with very well, and I'll do whatever it takes to inflict pain upon him, whatever it takes!"

Cynthia lost her breath then turned around glaring at Zhock, "Stay away from me!" she then turned to get into the house, but Zhock was standing in front of the door. "Congo!" Cynthia cried out. "Congo help!"

Then a big black husky popped his head out of the back door. "Wha-huh?" then as he shook his head he ran around to the front, looking at the massive shadow that was Zhock.

Cynthia turned her head and saw him, then she quickly took cover behind him as she shook. Zhock licked his lips and walked slowly towards the two laughing. "It's been a while since I've had husky." then in a move faster than lightning, one of his tails shot around Congo's front legs, then another around his hind legs, as he was lifted into the air.

Cynthia's eyes grew wide as she watched her brother get carried into the air and ripped in two. "Congo?" she said in disbeleif, but then quivered at the realization of her fears, "Congo!"

Jenna entered the boat and asked with a cautious tone, "Balto? Balto are you here?" But to her surprise Cyber came out stratching and yawning. "Cyber?" she said in shock, "What are you doing here?"

Cyber looked down at Jenna as he cracked his neck. "Shouldn't I be asking you the same thing?"

"Well I," she began, rubbing her foot in the snow.

"Oh, right, heh, relax I know why your here. He's over in the cabin." Cyber said winking at her and walking over to the plank and jumping off over to the beach to catch some fish, to amuse himself, give them privacy, and get breakfast for tomorrow morning.

"He knows too?" she said under her breath as she walked onto the boat and entering the cabin where Balto layed. "Hey." she said as she layed down next to him in his blanket.

Boris smiled and gave Balto a gesture that he was "going to go and help Cyber".

Balto nodded back and looked back at Jenna, smiling he licked her cheek, then her to his. "Why'd you come out here this late?" he asked.

She replied with a smile on her face, "I couldn't stop thinking about you. I had to come, I'll stay with you tonight, Rosie won't suspect a thing." then she lay her head on Balto's neck, making him nervous. She eased his thoughts by looking at him with giant eyes that said to relax. And it was almost as if he were programmed to listen to those eyes, because the moment he saw them, he melted and looked back to her. They were ready for each other.

Cyber looked down at his reflection in the water next to the pile of fish. "How did I even get here?" he asked himself. "Why did I get here?" he looked back to his reflection, and watched as Anui's face appeared.

"You, Cyber, are here because I sent for you. I requested your presence and so it was. You and you only are the future of the world."she said with a stern look on her face.

"But why me?!" he asked desperately.

"All will be revealed in due time." she said and then disappeared.

Cyber got up and threw a rock into the water where Anui's face was, "Damnit!" he screamed, "Why?!"

Balto moved along Jenna and licked her muzzle as he heard Cyber's voice. His ears perked up and he looked back, but looked to Jenna again and smiled, "It's nothing. Don't worry." Jenna smiled and let him continue.

A few hours later, Cyber was curled up with Boris laying on his side, Balto and Jenna were lying next to each other, wrapped tightly
