Chapter 3: Pulsation
"Run! Run faster Cyber! I'm right here, stay awake, please!?" Cyber tossed and turned while dreaming of her saying these words again. "I love you Cyber." Then in a jolt, he awoke, shaking with fear.
He looked around in confusion, then remembered where he was. He stood up and walked down the edge of the boat, looking into the cabin where Balto and Boris were last seen asleep. To his surprise, they were still there. He understood, they had a long night.
Balto raised his head and smiled, "You're awake?"
Cyber nodded back," Yeah, I guess so. C'mon get up, today is the beginning of your training."
Cyber started to walk off the boat, looked back and said to a puzzled Balto, "It's just right behind the boat, let's go!" Then he jumped off the boat, hitting the ground and walking to the other end of the boat, "Don't be afraid, I'll take it easy on ya!"
Balto raised an ear, got up and went to the back of the boat,"I think you might have to be a little more agressive than that Cyber!" He said as he dropped down into the snow, "I'm pretty good."
"We'll see about that!" said Cyber as he took his fighting stance, as did Balto, then they dashed towards each other in a blur of black and brown.
Balto smiled, thinking he had Cyber, but looked and saw Cyber slam him down on his back, back into the snow. He arose steadily, then taking on a more serious face.
"What? Too hard?" Cyber asked with a cocky grin.
"Wrong, not hard enough, I'm still standing aren't I?" Balto wittily replied back with a sly look. Then quicker than he had ever been, he bit right into an un aware Cybers leg.
"Aaaaah!" Cyber screamed falling down bleeding. "Heeaagh!" Holding his leg, he looked and saw that there was a deep gash, bleeding dark blood, seeping his black fur and putting a red color on the snow around him.
"Cyber?" Balto asked, loosing his seriousness and turning it into curiosity, "Cyber are you okay? I didn't mean to...." He was silenced by Cyber rising up and turning a gray color, floating about three feet in the air.
Cyber raised his head to the sky screaming in pain, then his fur turned a bright snow-white color, eyes blankening, then fading from brown to blue.
"Geeah!" Cyber let off as he drifted back down to the ground, shining with brilliance, having a concentrated look about him.
Balto stood in horror as he watched Cybers' focus turn towards him. He looked down at where he had bitten Cybers' leg, and the wound was gone, leaving nothing but the shining fur of this new form.
Cyber could hear nothing but the beating of his own heart, pulsating throughout his body. He looked around, then at his paws. He turned them, and looked at his body, then smiled and laughed. He had become a White Wolf.
"Balto, this is amazing, I've dreamt of this day since my father died, I'm a White Wolf!" Cyber said with tears in his eyes.
"Amazing it is, but a White Wolf?" Balto asked doubtfully. "How did you do that?"
"All wolves have this power, but I thought it had run out of my blood line! Hah! I'm a White Wolf!" Cyber said laughing again.
"So that means that if I'm pushed hard enough, I too could become a White Wolf?" Balto asked excitedly.
Cybers' ears perked up as he remembered Anuis' words, "He has the same potential as you..." Cyber smiled, "I guess so."
Balto jumped for joy. "Let's keep going then! I want to be able to do this as soon as possible!" He said taking his stance once more.
Cyber replied, "I think thats enough for now, this has taken quite a toll on my body." Then Cyber closed his eyes and he returned to his black coloration. "Maybe later."
"Oh, alright. Wait a minute! The race is today! Come on Boris, if we get there now we can still catch the end of the race! Cyber aren't you coming?" He looked back at cyber who shook his head.
"Nah, I think I'm gonna stay here and rest for a while, you and Boris go and have fun, maybe I'll get there a little later." Cyber said making his way back to the boat yawning.
Balto frowned, "Okay, suit yourself, you'll miss out on something great though!" He said as Boris came off the boat and followed Balto into the town.
Cyber layed down at the bow again, looking out towards the sky. "He's got potential alright, I haven't felt pain like that in a while." He said with a small smile, then a worried look, "Oh my God, I'm talking to myself. This is so weird, but what's even weirder is the fact that I'm a White Wolf!"
Then he looked to the town at the sound of screaming crowd welcoming the victor of the race. Maybe he should have gone? If not, his next move would be in vaine. Cyber got up and went into the town looking for Balto.
As he rounded an alley corner, he peered into the street. He could see nothing but people cheering. So Cyber made his way to the Boiler room, at least there he could sleep in the warmth, and it was probably the first place Balto would go after the race. He curled up by the furnace, closed his eyes and slept for two or three hours.
He woke up only to be stared at by some curious sled dogs that had come in. He raised his head and his eyes wandered across the six different faces. "Um, hello?" he said with a quizical look about him.
"Hello there handsome." said an attractive dirt yellow husky. "The names Cynthia, Cindy for short. What's yours?" she asked, putting her tail to Cybers nose, practically making him drool.
He began to stutter nervously, "M-m-me? Well I-I my name is, um C-Cyber." he managed to get out shakily.
"Poor guys a wreck." said the black husky with hints of dark blue on his ears and face. "He can't even talk right!"
"Relax." said Cindy, pushing Cyber back, then licking his cheek.
"Oh God." said Cyber as he started to pant lightly.
"Cyber?" said a familliar female voice,"Cyber is that you?" It was Jenna. She came out of the darkness and then gasped. "My goodness! I didn't know that you two were..."
Cyber shook his head. "We're not." though now he desperately wanted it to be that they actually were. Then he struggled against Cindy's grip, freeing himself and standing up, still staring at Cindy as she licked her lips seductively. "No." he sighed out eventually," we're not."
Cindy just lay there mouthing words of love to Cyber. Jenna snapped her fingers at Cyber and caught his attention. Shaking his head Cyber looked back at Jenna.
"Where's Balto?" he asked. Jenna gave him a confused look. Then Cyber asked, "Do you know?" Jenna shook her head.
"He said he was coming here after he did something, but that was back at the race." She answered with worry in her voice.
"Then he should be here any minute. We've got nothing to worry about." Cyber said sitting back down next to Cindy.
"I hope he gets here soon." said the black and blue dog, looking out the window. "By the way Cyber," he turned, "My name's Limit. I can see you're becoming aquainted with Cynthia, so, we'll leave you two alone, come on Jenna." he said motioning towards another part of the room.
"Yeah." said Cyber staring into Cindy's eyes. "Nice to meet you Limit...." then he lay flat on his back, soon she followed, but not next to him, on him. "Holy crap!" He thought to himself. "Is this seriously going to happen right now?" Cyber stood up, "Maybe we should go somewhere else for a while?" he asked her.
Cyber was walking out of the room with her when Balto and Steele came crashing through the door, fighting each other as blood flew all over the place.
"Balto!" Jenna screamed, backing up to the wall. Cyber looked at the situation and stepped forward, excusing himself from Cindy's arms.
"Steele!" Cyber let out, "Do you want a re-enactment of last nights little showdown?"
"What showdown?" Steele asked, turning his attention to Cyber. "I don't remember, how about you fill me in! Oh, wait, now I recall, it went a little something like this!" Steele then darted at Cyber with such speed that Cyber fell to the floor dodging him.
Cyber stood up again, only to be tackled by Steele, then they stared at each other eye-to-eye. Cybers eyes widened, looking into Steeles eyes, they were red! Then Cyber glanced down at Steeles previous injury from the other night. "Jenna!?" Cyber began to ask, "Was Steele in the race?"
"Yes." she calmly replied, "His team won, why?"
Cyber grinned then started to growl, "Jenna, I want you and the others to leave now!" Cyber, at this point was going to take matters into his own hands when Balto cut in.
"I'll stay with him." he said approaching Cyber and Steele.
Jenna nodded and they cleared out of the room, leaving only the three of them as requested. Then Cyber pushed Steele off of him, backing into a corner. "Show us your true form Zhock!"
"Zhock?" Balto asked raising a brow. Cyber shook his head and motioned towards Steele on the floor.
"Was it truly that obvious?" Steele asked laughing. "I don't want to disappoint you Cyber, but my true form has yet to be determined, considering which host I decide to keep." Then he stood, cracking his neck and changing from black and white, to an all-around pitch black color with bright crimson eyes.
Cyber then stood proud, "You killed my father! Now I and my apprentice take revenge!" Then came the sound of Cybers' heart throughout the room, echoeing in Balto and Zhocks ears. Again, Cybers' fur turned a glistening white and eyes a brilliant crystal blue.
Balto smiled. "White Wolf....."
Cyber then spoke again, "Balto! Concentrate! Think of all the things that anger you, all the people who hate you, and how much you hate them back!" Cyber looked straight into Zhocks
