"I'm really excited to do another movie." Balto said as he and his mate Jenna boarded the plane to Hollywood.

Jenna rolled her eyes. "Balto while you may be jumping for joy, I am completely ticked off." she groaned.

"I mean seriously, can't they just end our movie career." she said reffering to Universal Studios.

Balto tutted. "Jenna, Jenna, Jenna. My dear downhearted Jenna."

Jenna sniffed. The two entered the plane and quickly tiptoed to the back where there were two large seats. One for Jenna and one for Balto.

"Hey look! Mini refrigerated bagged peanuts!" Balto squealed excitedly.

"I'll take a couple of these." he said secretly shoving the peanut bags into his suitcase.

Jenna curiously looked out the window. A familiar looking object was flying right past the plane. "Boris!" she cried opening her window.

"Balto it's Boris!" Jenna said, lightly tapping Balto on the shoulder. Balto didn't move. He was too busy listening to the music the aircraft provided.

Jenna growled frustrated with Balto, and looked out the window. "Boris! Over here!" she called.

But it was too late. Boris was zooming past the plane, only to get sucked into the engine.

That clumsy bird! Jenna thought grumpily. She wouldn't be surprised if she saw him flying out of the engine as bald as a hairless cat.

For the rest of the day, Balto and Jenna flew to Hollywood aboard the plane.

Finally, at 8:30, the dogs arrived in California. They were both tired and hungry. Well, maybe not Balto since he had taken a nap on the plane AND eaten the entire compartment of miniature bagged peanuts.

"Ugh, my stomach hurts." he complained for the fiftieth time.

"Well, you shouldn't have eaten all of those peanuts!" Jenna snapped angrily.

Balto kept quiet for the rest of the night.

In the morning, Balto and Jenna realized that they had slept on the streets. "Oh, Balto! We don't have enough money to afford a hotel!" Jenna cried.

"Don't worry. We'll think of something." Balto reassured her.

At 9:00, the dogs left for Universal Studios. A whole crowd af fans were waiting eagerly at the entrance. Camras flashed. People screamed. And not one single producer was in sight!

But then, Balto noticed something. Yellow tape lined the building and a couple of policemen stood around it.

These people weren't excited about the dog's arrival- they were reporters at a crime scene!

"What's happening?" Balto asked one of the policemen.

"Somebody stole some cameras and dressing props." he explained. "And all of these crazy reporters dropped by to get the inside scoop."

Balto nodded inquisitivley.

"Jenna we need to help too." he whispered after wrapping up the conversation with the policeman.

Jenna shook her head. "No way Balto. I came down here to film a movie NOT to investigate a crime scene." she said sharply.

Balto sucked in a lot of air. "Please Jenna. We've got to atleast do SOMETHING to help." Balto persisted.

He could tell that Jenna wasn't going to give in easily.

"No Balto. It's better off if we just go home!" And with that Jenna trotted away.

Balto's ears drooped. He had to find a way to help. He just HAD to.

Slowly, he slipped to the back of the building.

He found a door that led into Universal Studios. He snuck inside.

Inside the building, he saw large stacked boxes and some chatting policemen.

He looked into the area where the films where shot.

Sure enough, clothes were strewn all over the floor and three cameras were missing from thier usual spots.

Balto slipped back outside.

The parking lot was empty except for a couple of police cars and a white van.

He tip toed up to the van. It could possibly be a clue. It was old and rusty and it's wheels were covered in muck and grime.

Balto stood up on his hind legs to get a better look inside.

Balto gasped. He was shocked at his discovery and kind of disappointed that Jenna wasn't there to witness this.

Inside the van, Balto saw three cameras and some dressing props.

Suddenly, a large shadow loomed over Balto and he looked up to see a man with a ski mask standing right behind him.

He grabbed Balto and stuffed him inside of the van.

"Jenna!" Balto howled out of the open window.

"Shutup you little mutt!" snapped the ski mask man.

He slammed his foot down on the pedal and the van noisily sped out of the parking lot.

Balto buried his face in his paws and let out something more than a whimper, something like a sob.

"Be quiet!" growled the man as he sped down the freeway.

What would Jenna say when she realized that Balto wasn't there?

Jenna sat in the parking lot open mouthed and her eyes wide.

She had seen the whole situation. And she had a plan. She would chase down that van and rescue Balto if it was the last thing she'd do.

Quickly, Jenna darted in the direction the van had left in. She raced down the side of the road following the van's stench.

It was hard to identify that, for it's smell had mixed in with all of the other cars on the road.

Finally, the van came to a stop in a junkyard and Balto was ushered out and into a crate.

"They'll never find me here. Those crazy police guys. I'll keep in hiding. And to make sure they don't find me, I'm taking a plane to India. With YOU!"

Balto was astonished. He never knew a man could be so cruel.

Meanwhile, Jenna still followed the van all until morning. By then, she was tired and weary.

She had followed the car's smell to an old junkyard and there, mixed in with all of the other stenches, was Balto's scent.

Jenna quickly and quietly trotted into the junkyard and inside an old log cabin.

Inside, was a man snoring and napping on the sofa. She followed Balto's scent into a room with a crate in it.

"Balto!" Jenna cried racing up to the cage. "I thought I'd never see you again!"

Balto smiled warmly. "You came." he said.

Jenna nodded and smiled from ear to ear.

"Alright Jenna. Could you try to get me out of this?" Balto wondered pressing his nose against the metal cage door.

Jenna nodded and began to fumble with the lock. Slowly, the cage door opened.

"Thanks." Balto said, licking Jenna. "Now let's get-"

He was cut short by the man's grunting from the doorway.

"You get back here you little-"

Balto and Jenna swiftly dodged the man and raced between his legs.

The darted out of the cabin and out of sight.

That morning, Balto and Jenna returned home.

"Well I guess we didn't get to shoot the movie." Balto said with a sigh.

"Yeah." Jenna said secretly smiling to herself.

"But we'll still get to go shoot another movie." Balto said.

Jenna groaned.

For a couple of minutes there was silence until finally Balto said:

"Do you want some peanuts?"

To Be Continued.

Hmmm...Very cute story, and quite funny. Slipped in a little laughs here and there. Might I say, you did stretch my imagatination. From Balto and Jenna going to Hollywood, or to Balto eating peanuts? But thats what makes good stories, hehehe... I hope you continue writing, and I hope that the creative spark doesn't fade. Do this and you'll get a fav from me.
