Prologue
Dingo could remeber the day he was taken to a new home ever since a pup Dingo never had any trouble adapting, he was the calm yet cheerfull son, he was never "papa's kid", and never depend greatly on them, so adopting him wasn't much trouble.
His owner was called Benny, he was one of Rosie's closest friends, in fact Benny had a crush on her, and Dingo was clearly a way to be close to the girl.Dingo also kept his old name, Benny knew Rosie adressed the pup as Dingo and Ben decided to keep the name to rember her friend.Ben's family had a sled career, his father was called John and he and his brother David were good mushers, tho David greatly doubted on John's dog Dingo, due to his wolf side.
The rust colored hybrid and the remaining team dogs always explored the near landscape, not being the leader didn't make Dingo angry, instead the female lead-dog Dawn was a great leader and a better one he could ever be.
After the sun showing the afternoon, the training was over and the dogs were realeased in the long ranch, Dawn and Bruiser were mates and were seen nuzzling often in a rock, Navy was tried ways to aproach Dingo, Brian as the womanizer he is, was often seeking female company sadly, no one seemed to be interested in him, and thus he often left to find girls in town, Blaze would rather hang with Dingo or leave to cause mischief in town, and at last the little Flake being a new team recruit and a playfull novice, she would be annoying everyone and often recieving a bite in her pretty face, it was always the same and always fun to everyone, Dingo couldn't wish for a better life.
The rusty hybrid laid on the jard with thoughts, yesterday he went to a family reunion, but the family wasn't complete, he only saw his parents and his brother Kodiak, he knew how family was breaking apart, Alue left somewhere that Dingo didn't know, and Balto never talked about that, he only said she found her home, but where?, Michigan due to serious circumstances had to leave, her other sister , being a sledog was on her travels with her owner.
The terrible news were, Saba, the little runt, disapeared, Dingo knew the tragedies she faced, her owner died from disease and she was given to a abusive master, and what pissed him more, was the way Balto talked about her, saying she was a failure and other criticism, Kodi being a "wannabe" he agreed on everything and continue to crticize her, Jenna would always be a kind mother and defend her, though admiting Saba wasn't right, Dingo left the reunion early, though Balto tried to desperately get on his good side, Dingo would leave without angering him, just Kodi stood quiet, he had Balto's atention on him now, thats what he just wanted.
Dingo's eyes widened as little fangs latched on his back, he turned to face Flake playing with him, Dingo imediatly kicked her away, the truth was, he wasn't agressive but Flake was annoying, and since everyone picked on her, why not, a sleek Bluish female crept closer to him, it was the calm Navy, the female rested her head in Dingo's back, just to comfort him, the truth Dingo enjoyed that, the female softly licked Dingo's head, and the hybrid smiled, he was very ticklish.
"Psh...Navy you know I love that" Dingo spoke, his voice cool.
"Hmmm..." The female thought "Of course I know" she spoke as she kept licking his ear, Dawn stopped tickling him her smile faded, a large female aproached, it was a purpluish gray one, her name was Dawn the leadog.
"Navy...and Dingo" She sighted "Please rest well, tomorrow is a very important day-" the female husky was interrupted as as brown dog aproached, Blaze.
"Yea we know" He said "Tommorrow we will explore farther, on unexplored lands and-"
"I'm talking to Dingo and Navy" Dawn coldly interrupted "I guess you already talked enough, you clown" she scoffed at Blaze, this one frustrated and humilated left to join a chase game with Bruiser and Brian.
"I understand, general Dawn" Dingo scoffed meanfully, he knew Dawn ws the leader but sometimes she ets really annoying making Dawn snort and leave.
Both dogs rested and suddenly Dingo and Navy were awaken with fast strokes, and a funny laugh, it was Benny, he huged both canine's necks.
"Good dogs" he said as he took jerky out of his pocket and whispered "I took this from the kitchen, please don't tell my mom" he laughed as he gave it to Dingo and Navy both dogs swallowed it "You both will do great tommorrow, you will be the first dogs to explore those unknown forests, you will-" the kid was interrupted by a human female voice.
"Sorry pals, its late and I'll go to meet Rosie tomorrow" he said as he blushed, it was obvious he liked Rosie, he petted Dingo for a last time, and left to enter the house. Both dogs were feeling cold already, the night temperature was going down, and they entered the barn, they slept toguether in warm hay, it obvious both had something going on too.
The next Dingo was awaken by gently pets, once it remembered what was going to happen today, he opened his eyes widely and rise to his feet, he was eager for this journey, the other dogs were wide awake, exept for Flake, who looked awfully groogly and sleepy, but once she was pinned down by Blaze, she stood up with surprise, Dingo couldn't help but to laugh at that scene.
Each Dog had their harness on, and were placed in their rightful place, First was obviusly the proud Dawn showing her authority, Buiser was behind her, then next to him was Brian, bot Bruiser and Brian are very expereinced dogs, next were Dingo and Blaze, it was fine, both were good friends, and at last was the experienced girl Navy, with the newbie Flake, Flake being new she needed to learn from a pro, and Blue taught her for thr timr being. Benny greeted all the dogs, he loved them all, and then wished good luck to his father, John, before leaving he gave a copy of the route to David if anything passed, to know the places, the man finally used his whip and the dogs started trotting, Benny ran behind them happily, the child stopped once they were out of sight.
Without feeling tired, the team reached the forest, Flake was nervous, some scents were new to her, and she often ended triping and having the others to stop, Dawn usually bit her in the back, and scolded her withou concern, Brian would be trying to hit on Dawn duiring the trip, but Bruiser was oficially Dawn's mat eand he wasn't going to permit that, Brian learned the bad way when Bruiser bit his ear, Flake bit Blaze's heels, and beause of that she was kicked in the face.
Farther and farther they were, but easily remembering the way home, the dogs soon stopped to a halt, it was a nice snowy glade, the snow wasn't so deep on those parts due to a close little stream running in there, the dogs rested and drank the water from there, Navy was nervous she barked a lot to warn John, but the man just gently pet her.
"What's wrong Navy" Brian aproached, not worried but with intentions of hitting on her.
"I don't like this scents, I don't like this place..." she replied
"But why, this place is so calm" Brian replied
"True, but I feel someone is watching me...somewhat" said Navy "Those scents...theres something dangerous here"
"Youre weird you know..." the red husky left
Navy snorted, surely the teammates knew those scents, but ignored them, Dingo had felt those dreadful scents too, it was everything covered with them, like a territory marks, alot of them, he looked through the woods, to meet eyes glaring at him, pupils dilated, Dingo entered in shock.
The hybrid barked in nervousnes, the silohuettes crept closer to them, Dingo warned Dawn, she imediatly warned the other, all of them barking to the musher, John was confused, but he trusted his dogs, so he stood up, a gun in his hands, some silohuetes were very close, everything was so silent....eerie....very slient, dogs growling. In a flash a large figure jumped behing John, pinning him down, a wolf was biting his jacket.
More wolves started to apear behing the large one, bloodhunger in their eyes, Flake crouched tail between legs, all the remaining dogs were snarling instead, John manged to take the wolf away, a gunshot was heard, one of the wolves fell, John used his weapon, but those wolves seemed more angry than before.
Dawn took steps forward he didnt know how to deal with woves but he kept without showing sighns of intimidation"Look we don't want anything to do with you, if this is your territory we'll leave" she spoke firm and strong voice.
The large brown, black and white wolf snarled "Too late for that sweetie!" he snarled as he lunged to Dawn, the female evaded the wild beast, and snarled in frustration.
Dingo took steps forward, he was going to protect John from this monsters, John stood up, he knew that if those dogs fought, they wouln't have a chance, he needed to get help.
"Run away!" he shouted at his dogs, the dogs couln't believe it, they had heard stories of foolish humans that abandoned theyr dogs in tough times, but John was such a good human, he wanted to defend the dogs.
"Go away, find my brother, look for help!" he screamed at them, and made some sighnals with their hands, the dogs understood, Flake suddenly left whimpering, Bruiser, Brian, Navy, and Blaze understood what his master wanted and left, Dawn and Dingo were left.
"Dingo go with them!" Dawn shouted
"No...I just can't" he replied, unlike Alue Dingo wasn't stubborn, his loyalty wich dogs are born with, prevented him to leave his master "Dawn you should be the one leaving" he scoffed
"But I-" Dawn stubornly replied, but was suddenly interrupted.
"I'm not sure if the others know the way, I won't abandon John, please Dawn go help them" Dingo snarled, Dawn didn't reply, she understood perfectly, she dashed away, leavinng Dingo at their mercy.
More gunshots were heard, four wolves fell down, this

I liked it, specially the last two pages, somehow, I like fics were characters cry and have themselves filled with pain. I'm weird.
I also loved what evil Dingo did to Blaze after he pinned him down, and I loved what he did to Dawn too. They deserve it. I just wish he could have delivered more suffering to the others. If I was to be there, I would have helped Dingo!
