First Encounter

(based on Chapter 4 of my flashback tale, "Forbidden Bond")

Summary: Balto's parents first meet. Consider this as a teaser for upcoming chapters in my prequel, "Forbidden Bond"! Told in Anyu's POV. (Yes, I spelled her name as Anyu in the story; it's more commonly spelled as Aniu in WQ, but I like my version better (actual translation for "snow"). So no gripes about this, okay?)

I'm such a young, maturing lupine

pure white as the mountain snow

I peer through a forest clearing

gasp with yellow eyes aglow

The world is big

chock full of danger

excitement await me

and a mysterious stranger

I can see his husky face

in solid black and white

His eyes are so gleaming

softly burning bright

He must be my savior

the answer of my call

For long I was afraid

no one had heard me at all

There we stood as time was still

staring face to face

The more he stared at me deeply

The faster I felt my heart race

The snow lightly began to float

like a white blossom shower

Closer I approached him

and our love started to flower

I felt his warm black fur

against the white of my own

It was then that I knew

I would never, ever be alone

I want to follow my heart

And live life as I choose

But our love is taboo, forbidden

Yet, what do I have to lose?

My clan, my family

the strength of my pack

and my twin brother would exile me

I could never go back

But what is so wrong

with these similar creatures?

To me, I am like them

for we have the same features

I can make your dreams come true
