outside, they saw a sled with seven dogs tied to it. Sora walked up to the lead dog who was a burgandy color with a white underside.
"I see you like my lead dog," said the musher.
"Yeah, he looks like he's in good shape," said Sora. "What's his name?"
"Well. I'll tell you the names of all my dogs. The lead dog's name is Kodiack or Kodi for short, the two behind him are Butch and Kirby, the other two behind them are Ralph and Dusty and the last two are Ernie and Mark," the musher said.
"Sorry, I didn't give you my name. The name's Mr. Simpson."
"Hi. I'm Sora and these are my two friends, Kairi and Riku."
As Kairi and Riku finished introduccing themselves, the three headed back to the boat where Donald and Goofy were staying.
As Sora and his two friends were walking back, Balto and Jenna were walking through the forest, talking and having a good time, just joking and having fun.
"It's good sometimes to get out of town," Balto said.
"Yeah, it is good, but you pretty much spend most of your time out here in the wild sometimes," Jenna said.
"What do you mean by that?" Balto said.
Jenna started to laugh. "What I mean is you spend a little more time out here than with me and our children."
"I'm sorry, Jenna. After this small walk I promise I'll spend more time with you."
After hearing Balto say that, Jenna was excited that he would be spending more time with her.
Balto and Jenna were unaware that shadows were following them, Balto suddenly stopped.
"What is it Balto?" Jenna asked.
Balto replied, We're being followed."
Both of them turned around and saw these shadow like creatures starting to surround them.
"What are they Balto?" Jenna replied in a frightened tone.
"I have no idea," Balto said.
Balto was unprepared when five Heartless jumped and started to pile on top of him. At that moment Jenna screamed at the top of her lungs, fearing for her mate's safety.
At the fishing trawler, Sora and Riku were preparing lunch when Sora heard a scream coming from the forest.
"Did you guys hear that?" Sora asked.
The others nodded and they all ran out of the ship to see what the source of the cream was and, to their surprise, they saw hundreds of Heartless attacking two dogs. They all got their weapons ready as Sora jumped over the Heartless and got the ones that were on Balto. Balto walked over to Jenna despite his injuries.
"Balto, you're hurt," Jenna said in a worried tone as she licked his wounds.
"Jenna. I'm fine. It's just a few scratches," Balto said through gritted teeth as he fell to the ground.
In Sora's hand was a long blade that looked like a key.
"Do you think he's going to hurt us Balto?" whispered Jenna.
"I don't know Jen."
Sora turned around and smiled. "Don't worry, my friends and I won't hurt you," replied Sora.
Balto and Jenna were surprised because no one had evere been able to understand what they said.
Sora and the gang defeated the Heartless like it was nothing and all five walked up to Balto and Jenna to see how they were.
"Are you two okay?" Sora asked.
Before Sora could react, a wolf jumped at him and pinned him to the ground. Kairi, Riku, Donald and Goofy went frantically to help him.
"You leave my Mom and Dad alone!" the wolf shouted.
"Take it easy Aleu. They just saved your mother and myself from whatever those things were," Balto said.
"They're called Heartless," Riku said. They're creatures that like to steal all the goodness and love in people's hearts."
"The reason they went after you two is because I guess you have so much love in your hearts for each other," said Kairi.
"Sorry we didn't introduce ourselves. My name is Sora. These are my friends Kairi and Riku. The wizard is Donald and the soilder is Goofy."
"My name is Balto and this is my mate Jenna and the one who attacked you is our daughter Aleu."
It is nice to meet all of you," Sora said.
When they all started to leave, Balto tried to stand up but fell back on the ground.
"Papa!" Aleu shouted as she and Jenna ran up to him.
"Balto, we'll help you get back to town," Jenna said.
"Honey, like I said before, it's just a few scratches," Balto groaned.
Sora walked up to Balto and looked down at him.
"Stay put. BALTO HEAL!" Sora said as the tip of his blade glowed with leaves that now covered Balto's body. When the leaves disappeared Balto was all healed.
"What did you do?" Balto asked.
"I healed you with our magic."
"I think we should head back to my place," Balto said.
"Oh, your place wouldn't happen to be a worn out boat by any chance," Goofy said.
"It is. Why?"
"Because we were staying in it since last night," Donald said.
"Don't worry about it," Balto said. "Jenna, run to town and get Dingo, Kodi and Saba."
"Wait a minute. Did you just say Kodi?" Sora said.
"Yeah, he's my son."
Jenna nuzzled Balto before she ran to town to get the others. She hoped the others would understand what dangers were about to strike the town of Nome.
Chapter 3: A Hero’s Tale
Balto’s Boat
Balto was standing at the end of the ship with his paws on the rail. Jenna then ran up the plank with the others she went to retrieve.
“What’s going on, Dad?” Kodi asked.
“I think we may have a problem,” Balto said.
“What kind of problem?” Saba said.
“I think we could tell you that,” said Sora as he and his friends walked up on deck.
“Dad, how can he understand us?” Kodi said.
“I really don’t know how. You should have seen my reaction along with your mother’s.”
Sora walked up to Kodi. “It’s good to see you again, Kodi.”
“Yeah, same here,” replied Kodi.
“Well, um Sora, Kairi, Riku, Donald and Goofy,” Balto said. “We’ve never seen you around here before. Where are you guys from?”
“Oh, um, we came very far away,” said Sora.
“Well, exactly where?” Balto asked.
“The three of us are from a place called DestinyIsland,” Sora said. “And these two are from DisneyCastle.”
Sora didn’t want to tell them that they were from the future, trying to stop a madman from taking over.
“So what were you guys doing before we saved you?” Sora said.
“Well, Jenna and I were just trying to find some time to be alone together,” Balto replied.
“Well it’s a good thing I heard you mate scream. That is why we came running when we heard her,” said Sora.
“So Kodi, what do you and your teammates do?” Said Kairi.
“Well, we deliver mail and supplies to the neighboring towns.”
“So, I see you’re talking to a new friend about our job,” replied Kirby.
Sora turned and saw Ralph, Dusty and Kirby walk up the plank.
“Being lead-dog is a big priority, I have to make all the decisions to make sure we get the mail on time, and that we arrive safely.”
“Yeah, it’s not like we have to save the town,” Kirby said. “Not like your old man.”
“Hey, what my Dad did was really brave and courageous. He could have died out there.” Saba said.
“What are you guys talking about?” Sora asked.
“We’re just remembering what our Dad did,” said Kodi.
“What did he do?” asked Goofy.
You guys haven’t heard about what Balto did!” shouted Ralph.
They shook their heads because they had never heard about what Balto did and they really wanted to know what he did.
“I’ll guess I have to tell you guys what I did,” said Balto.
“Four years ago in 1925, a disease known as diphtheria spread all over Nome, causing all of the children to get sick. The antitoxin was the only cure, but unfortunately there was none in Nome. The Telegrapher was sending messages all over Alaska, telling people that Nome is in danger. Bush planes tried to bring in the antitoxin but the blizzard kept them from flying. They also tried to bring it here by boat but the ice flows were blocking the path. They used a train to bring the antitoxin to Nome, but there were no tracks leading to Nome. So the train only mad it to Nenana. The medicine was still hundreds of miles away.”
“The only chance Nome had was for a dog sled team to go to Nenana and bring the medicine back safely. The townspeople held a race to see who the fastest dog was. Jenna’s owner Rosy was sick as well. So I entered the race. I won in record time, but I was turned down.”
“You were turned down?” Kairi asked.
“Yeah,” Balto said.
“Why would they turn you down if you won?” asked Donald.
“There was this dog named Steele, he was a very popular dog in Nome,” Balto said. “He wanted to prove that he and his tem could get the medicine back without someone like me.”
“What do you mean by someone like you?” asked Riku.
“Back then, people feared me because I am part wolf. Even the dogs teased me about it,” Balto said.
“But why did you get turned down just because you’re part wolf?” asked Goofy.
“Well, the judges were about to let me join, but then Steele stepped on my paw which caused me to howl in pain. The judges thought I was going to attack them. That is why I was turned down.”
“That Steele character sounds like a bully,” said Sora.
“He sure is,” Jenna said.
“So what happened next?” asked Kairi.
“About a week had passed since Steele and his team left, and some feared that they were lost. The children were getting worse, and so was Rosy. So I to go look for them and try to bring back the antitoxin.

Not bad! Although it seemed a little rushed. In the sequel, try to put more discription into it. Despite that, nice job! I LOVE Kingdom Hearts and Balto! |
This is a very well-written story, although the spelling and
punctuation need an adjustment (you frequently spelled
"lose" with two "o's"). I'm looking forward to the sequel!
