It was a beautiful , warm day in April at the small town of Nome. On such a day you could see young male and female Huskies romping and running through the snow and beach sand. One particular group of Huskies were having a race like always.

   These Huskies' names were Kodi, Kirby, Ralph, and Dusty. These Huskies happened to be the Nome sled mail team. Kodi was the son of the famous Nome hero, Balto the Wolf-Dog.

   "Kirby........you're pulling me again!"exclaimed Ralph in frustration. "Well if it weren't for that 'Broken Toenail' you'd probably be able to keep up" barked Kirby angrily."Will you two shut up and keep moving?" Dusty asked."He started it!"Ralph whined gesturing to Kirby.'Yeah right Ralph' Kirby thought.

~~~~~~~~~~~Afternoon~~~~~~~~~~~

  "Kodi! Why don't you get off that rock and race!"shouted Kirby from the starting point."I'm still taking a break. I'm still a little exhausted from that run today" Kodi shouted back."Okay just make your break as short as possible.We all wanna race you"Dusty yelled  impatiently.'Don't they love anything other than racing? Get a hobby guys.Huskies do more than running!'Kodi thought to himself.

Then everything went silent.

  Ralph, Dusty , and Kirby were looking to the top of the hill. Their mouths were wide open." What the heck is going on" Kodi asked.He looked up.

  What he saw  was the most amazing thing he had ever seen. At the top of the hill was a Husky with stunning gold fur that sparkled in the sunlight and striking sapphire eyes that melted Kodi's heart. It was definetely love at first sight.

~~~~~~~~~~Kalia's point of view~~~~~~~~~~

  I decided to head down to the beach for a little relaxation despite all the cat calls and love stares I was getting. The minute I got here I became the most popular female in Nome.

 When I got to the beach I saw a male laying on my favorite sunning rock. I had to admit he was quite handsome. But like the others he stared at me. I decided to wait and see if he was brave enough to talk to me. If he was then I might accept him.

We'll see.

 Kodi, instead of staring in amazement, looked away. She.....She's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Should I talk to her? Yeah. I'll talk to her. When Kodi made his decision final, he went to talk to the strange Husky.

   "Hello.I'm Kodi.Can I ask your name?"Kodi asked, rather pleased that his words went well. The female turned around and caught Kodi's gaze.

  "Kalia is my name.Pleasure to meet you Kodi."Kalia stated.This one may be the one.He had the bravery of facing rejection and yet came to talk anyway.He is definetely the one for me. Kalia thought as Kodi smiled and said "Nice to meet you Kalia.Would you like to join me and my friends? We're racing". Kalia brightened and accepted his offer and went to join him and his friends.

   "Thanks for the good time Kodi. I had fun."Kalia said as they were walking home from the beach. "You're welcome"Kodi said gladly. "Hey Kalia."Kodi asked. "What is it Kodi?"Kalia asked gently yet curiously. "You think we could....um....be a couple?" Kodi stammered nervously. Kalia smiled her most beautiful smile and said "Are you sure?". "Y...Yeah.If you don't mind."Kodi, again, stammered nervously."Sure.Why not."Kalia giggled.

    When she was out of hearing range Kodi jumped for joy.Yes! he thought.

 Little did he know that he and Kalia were being watched by a very jealous male wolf.
