Rachen stands there and collapses into a heap on the ground he can hear his heart thudding in his chest and he thinks “well at least I will see Gardez again” his vision swirls into blackness and he sees no more. Rachen hears the crackling of a fire and he wakes up all of a sudden he hears a voice saying “good your awake” Rachen looks towards where the voice came from and sees a elderly male human covered in rags his long gray hair is hanging over his face as two black eyes stare out from behind them.

The human says “you had a close one there young wolf” Rachen looks at him and then at his chest where he sees bandages wrapped around his body. The human says “I was walking on my way home when I found you laying there on the ground you were almost in the afterlife and had very little blood in your body, so I picked you up and brought to my home” Rachen looked from him and around at his surroundings. There was a stone fire place in from of him and next to it a assortment of herbs and plants a small window on the far wall emitted a small ray of light in one corner stood a walking staff. Above the fireplace was mounted a small Roman gladius, Rachen looked at it with hatred and then he looked back at the human he got up from the cot and then the human spoke “your friends have been waiting for you while you rested” Rachen walked to the door where the human opened it all of a sudden Rez and Bien crashed into his chest knocking him to the ground they nuzzled and licked him Rez says “we thought you were dead for sure” Rachen says “nope this human cared for me” Rez looks from him to the old human standing in the doorway the humans spoke saying “it is time for you to leave” Rachen got up and joined the wolf pack and lead them away from the human Rachen looked over his shoulder at the human who was still standing in the doorway looking at him Rachen howled and ran from him.

Rachen and the pack traveled a long distance as they reached the mountains the wolves surged past Rachen and ran over the hill and saw something that made their jaws drop. A lush green country side stretched for as far as they could see with a long blue lake in the middle of the mountains as Rachen beheld the view he thought about Zaire and Gardez and all of the other wolves that didn’t make it he thought “well Gardez we made it” Rez and Bien rushed past him and started to play with one another while the other wolves ran towards the lake but Rachen just stood on the hill and listened to the breeze that called his name.
